"Oh oops I forgot to add this one $10,000 piece to your invoice, the price we've been discussing for 1/2 hour is now 50% higher" "Well I guess I could give you the friends and family discount..." etc etc Every time I said no to their "absolute lowest price they can do," they came back with another "lowest price" with some kind of discount or deal that they "shouldn't do, but can make an exception for..." I've read online that they do excellent work, but all they wanted to talk about was their competitors. If I had a nickel for every time I heard about "the other guys," I could possibly afford their newest "absolute best price we can do." Not a fan. Just tell me the price, tell me what you do, and cut the gimmicks.

We filed a board complaint in April 2026 and I can only hope they can stop him from leaving anyone else in the same situation he's left us in. He didn't meet any deadlines, was in breach of both mine and the banks contract. He was fired. A structural repair company that flat out says "you paid for repairs, you don't pay for the work to be up to code" says a lot.

I needed a lot of work and while I was at it, decided to go ahead and do the encapsulation. The crew that came out to do the work was great as well. I was off on vacation that week and got to know them a little bit. One day even bought them lunch because they didn't like to leave the job site. Another crew came out and installed the dehumidifier, but for some reason, they neglected to close up the foundation vents as they were supposed to. Another guy had to come out on a day nobody was home to do that and that completed the job. Since nobody was home that day, I couldn't pay them the balance for the job. I assumed I would receive a statement in the mail or maybe by email. After a week or so, I had kind of forgotten about it as I went on with my life. Believe it not, this is where the trouble started. About two and a half months passed. I got a phone call at work one day. The man on the phone wanted me to clear up my balance. He made me feel like I had done something wrong, so we got off on the wrong foot right away. I explained that this is the first time that anybody has asked me for money and I have never received a statement. He offered to email me a statement and I told him I would take care of it. In the ten day period from when I first received the statement, to the time they received the payment, I received statements by email twice, by regular mail twice as well as numerous phone calls. This really blew my mind. I had already paid them well over $20,000 for the work they did and for nearly three months I didn't hear a thing. Now all of a sudden it's the biggest emergency ever. I really didn't appreciate it. If the accounting department was on top of things the way the rest of the company seems to be, this wouldn't have happened. It was completely their fault. I'm just hoping that things go well in the future when they have to come out to replace my filters and such.

After I noticed some settlement issues, I called a few companies in the area to get quotes on repairs. AW&FR offered me a very reasonable price, didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, and I felt no pressure to sign anything. This was not the case with every company, and AW&FR felt they could achieve the same results with half the cost. The contract was very simple to understand and Ed set very clear expectations on scope of work, date of work, and time to complete, and felt confident this would address the settlement issues. Mike, Ed, and the team came by yesterday and installed 6 helical piers on my property while having to work around some complications with underground utilities. They were able to lift the house a few inches and I can already notice the improvement in my floors. I have attached a previous crack repair on my brick veneer. After the house lift, the crack sealed itself. They left the work site with the expectations I had and that were in the contract, which was disturbed, level grade soil. The final price was what was agreed to, and there were no surprises.
