You cannot go to Copenhagen and NOT do a canal tour! It's almost as canal-y as Amsterdam (where you also have to do a canal tour!) You'll get to see another side (from the water) of a few of the main Copenhagen sights, like The Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Palace, and the Opera House, which had a really cool view from the back side/water. It's almost a nice little break from the hustle and bustle of the city - and the rocking of the boat almost had me falling asleep like a baby in the back of a car! So it's definitely a nice smooth ride that breaks up the day. There are a ton of other neat buildings and sights to see, like the Royal Danish Library, Paper Island, Refshaleøen (an old shipyard, that's now mixed use creative space),, and the Royal Danish Playhouse. If you're a fan of boats and boating also, it's amazing to see the old style colorful Danish boats as you cruise through the canals. Definitely a sight that you expect to see when you come to Copenhagen, and this is where to see it. The ride itself is only about an hour long so you can easily do this as part of an otherwise pretty full sightseeing day in Copenhagen. So definitely add this as an option to your itinerary!

A canal tour is a must-do for any visitor to Copenhagen -- a Stromma ride is an excellent way to get your bearings and learn about the city's development, with English narratives nicely complementing the general sightseeing. It's easy to buy tickets without a reservation and simply jump in the pier queue for the next departure, even during the busy summer months. Excellent way to see Copenhagen from new angles and admire the neighborhoods, bridges, architecture, and overall historical essence!

    The boat you pay for.

We were walking around and found the tour. We took the 60 minute tour. There are free restrooms across the street. You can bring food and drink on to the boat. If it rains, they will give you a waterproof poncho. Very informative English guide. Also, they provide a few good WW2 locations and where submarine homes were turned into buildings. Very relaxful. I would suggest doing this. Also, you get to see the Little Mermaid statue, but not the front of it.

My wife, kids and I have a wonderful cutter tool with this company. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they brought us to the most interesting areas expertly sailing through the beautiful (and tight) canals of Copenhagen.

One of the beautiful canals on the tour.

The boat tour is 100% better than the hop-on-hop-off bus could ever be. It lasted about and hour and was a peaceful and relaxing way to see the city without having to deal with traffic!

Clouded and scratched overhead viewing panels

Unfortunately, we were on an older boat. Overhead acrylic was clouded/scratched and couldn't see much unless you sat at the edge (50% of the seats had limited visibility.) Would highly recommend an open top boat. Audio was poor quality and engine noise made it nearly impossible to hear the guide. She seemed to do a fine job for the 30% of the time we could hear her.

Nice open top boat with seats facing forward, excellent, driver through the canals, excellent tour of Copenhagen. Only issue is seats have very limited legroom.

Europe is certainly the continent of river cruises, and there are definitely numerous of them. But the one in Copenhagen was particularly memorable because it gave us a very different feeling. Most people probably associate the cruise in, say, Paris or London, with bright lights and big cities, or towers and monuments. The river cruise in Copenhagen gave us a somewhat nostalgic feeling - as touristy as Nyhavn is, it still magically maintains the old fisherman's village kind of image and atmosphere. The Copenhagen cruise has it very own unique charm that could steal the show from Paris. A lot of the 17th century elements still remain, especially the bridges that were built so low and would have been obsolete nowadays (more on that later). History aside, we also got to see different parts of Copenhagen as well as much modern and spectacular architecture from a different perspective. We also passed by the famous "The Little Mermaid" statue, but since we were on the river, we could only see her back. The cruise is a solid 4-star experience. The fifth star goes to our guide, who was professional, knowledgeable, humorous, interactive, and perfectly cool. Every now and then he will ask you a question like: Why did Denmark lose most of their wars? Then he will give you a humorous, somewhat sarcastic, but also somewhat true answer. Because the soldiers' salaries were paid in beers. Why are all those houses on the Nyhavn painted in so many different colors (making them one of the most photographed and recognizable places in the World?) (I won't give you the answer to this one as I don't want to be a spoiler for those of you who will be going there!) TIP: The bridges in Copenhagen were built very low and very close to the water, so as the boat approaches and goes under the bridges, you must remain seated and cannot stand up. Otherwise, very bad things will happen to your head. The guide will warn everyone on the boat multiple times. To understand how low the bridges are, please see one of the pictures that I posted here.

It was a lovely cruise tour. I purchased the Copenhagen card, so this tour was included which was really nice. Otherwise I think it would have been $15-$20/person. I board the boat at the port south of Nyhavn. The cruise comes every approximately 20min. On the boat you can sit outside or inside, but since it was cold, I sat on the inside with my hot chocolate I bought at the 7-Eleven right next to the port. The cruise lasted about an hour, and it goes through all the canals on the west side of the river as well as the Christiania side where the Church of our Savior is located. The tour guide gives alot of information on the buildings and historical structures in both Danish and English, due to the large amounts of English speaking tourists in the area. The history of some of the buildings were very interesting and it was a very nice relaxing way to spend an hour floating. Definitely recommend doing this if you are in Copenhagen!

Don't be fooled by the "24 hop on hop off bus and boat tour" verbiage, as the huge asterisk here is you only get ONE boat ride. So, if you jump off somewhere that looks interesting, you can't ride another boat- unless you pay. The previous complaints I read before writing this review all pointed to lack of communication and bus availability, which I had no problems with. I do think the price of $40 USD for 24 hours is pretty steep, taking into consideration this is Copenhagen, and almost everything is expensive- it seemed pretty normal. The hop on hop off bus tour is the same as it is everywhere else. You basically pick a line (Copenhagen has the red, blue and green lines), depending what looks interesting to you. The most popular (and one we took) line is the red one, the "Mermaid tour", which naturally stops at the Little Mermaid statue (underwhelming, yet required if visiting). There is free Wi-Fi on the bus, as well as free headphones, in which you can listen to commentary (in ten different languages) of the history and sites as you pass them. We didn't have any problems finding or waiting for a bus, and the river boat ride was most definitely the highlight. It was really cool to see the city from that perspective, and how all the locals were enjoying the supposedly super rare sunshine-y weather they had that day (in June). I don't have any complaints about the bus, and I would take it again. Sure, it's touristy AF, but I was a tourist! Nowhere else could I get a quick tour of the city, with a pre-recorded explanation of it.

I like being on the water. Put me on a boat so I can explore the city while also sitting for an hour or so and I am happy gal. So on my next-to-last day in the city, needing to kill a little time before a museum opened up, and wanting to rest my feet for a spell...I hopped on a Netto boat tour. Also...because I had already done the other boat tour included with the Copenhagen Card. The boats are a little dingier and dirtier than some other tour companies. And they pack the boats full. You may not have much personal space on a busy day. But you get a full circle tour of the city from the water and you get to be on a boat for an hour. So...*shrug* So I stand by the Canal Tours being much better. But I think as long as you get to do a boat tour during your time in town, any one will do.

It's so romantic, we decided to kiss every time the boat goes under the bridge. And people! there are MANY bridges on this tour, over 20 in fact, but who's counting? If you're not a romantic, the practical purpose of this tour is to catch your bearings. Whenever I'm somewhere new, I always opt for the best mode of transportation to see the city. And here, it's best seen on the water. You'll pass the famous Little Mermaid, the impressive Opera House, the upscale Christianshavn neighborhood, Vor Freslers Kirke, etc. The tour lasts about 60 minutes and costs 60 Dkk (that's only $10!) and it's the best tour given in Danish and English. Don't go to the DFS company, they charge twice as much for the same exact tour.

I would agree that this business should have refunded them, so that was kind of crummy. I mean it's not like we have a pandemic everyday or that it was some BS excuse. I booked the 90 min HotDays experience which allows 5 people to book a tub (they don't have to be in the same group) and if there are 5 people booked, they do arrange for a HotDays experience, which is pretty good for 350DKK for 90 minutes, that's much cheaper than a similar indoors NYC experience I had recently, haha. Staff were very nice and bless their hearts today for working as it was about as nasty as it could get outside really. It was cold, very windy and rainy and the staff here basically had on waterproof snowsuits on and were all very chipper and helpful! We were shown to male and female changing rooms and also given a tour of the place. We were assigned a hot tub and then we were shown our communal sauna (electric) and the 3 cold plunge tubs available. Changing rooms were warmer and dry and served it's purpose. They asked us to only collect towels AFTER our experience and I appreciated that as you didn't see the place filled with dirty wet towels everywhere. I started off in the 100C sauna and my goodness it was hot with also 20% humidity. After about 10-15 min of this, I got pretty hot, so I took a dunk in the 4C cold plunge for about 10-15 seconds and then came back to the sauna. That was an amazing feeling honestly. Loved it! I did that for a couple of more cycles of hot and cold. Next, around the 45 min mark, I climbed into the hot tub and the other 4 people were already there. It was already quite cozy and 5 people is the max really. There is a slightly higher bench seating too and one of the girls opted to sit up there with some of her upper body exposed. The hot tub was at 40C and pretty warm and while the weather was just awful, siting in the hot tub made it so much nicer and even pleasant! I could have soaked for hours in that hot tub! By the 90 min mark, staff will come get you and then you're back to the changing room and voila! That's your 90 min experience and I loved every minute of it! Definitely give this place a try when in CPH even if the weather isn't great (actually that's the best time to come), they do on occasion shut down the business if weather is really crazy but I lucked out today. The place also sells drinks but I didn't buy any, I think its also BYOB, just check their FAQ on their website. No food though allowed in here and I didn't see anyone eating. We also know that cold plunge and hot sauna has health benefits so definitely come here to relax and also do something for your health! This was really the best way to ring in the New Year and I just couldn't have asked for a better day. The staff said that bad weather makes the experience all that much better and I would agree! And for the price of this experience, it's a steal with amazing views of urban CPH! I could see CopenHill from our hot tub and even the little lit up Xmas tree from the top. Was just lovely!

You can never be sure of the weather in Copenhagen and it was supposed to be sunny but wound up raining and cold. We asked for a refund and they said they don't give refunds even if it's raining. Had we known that we wouldn't have bought tickets in advance which you have to do if you want to get a boat on most days. How can you refuse refunds for boat rides that won't be bought by anyone else because it's raining? The first theft! We were told that they were watching the weather and the rain would stop in about 20 minutes but it never did. It got lighter for a short while and we saw other people with ponchos coming back. We'd spent almost $300 on the trip so rather than lose the money we decided to go out thinking the rain would let up, it didn't. So we asked for 3 of the ponchos we saw other people wearing. They said sure and pulled out three tiny packets of the thinnest cheapest plastic ponchos that didn't go past your butt and THEY CHARGED US $6 FOR EACH ONE!! The second theft! Talk about adding insult to injury these scumbags capitalize further on their non refundable boat rides by charging you more money for what is essentially the thinnest cheapest plastic garbage bags with a hole on the end and a hood that doesn't cover your head. Guarantee you these ponchos cost them about 30 cents a piece yet they charge the ridiculous sum. At the very least if you won't refund my money give me the crappy plastic poncho for free. Absolute scumbag move. On top of all that they hardly give you any instructions except forward, reverse and then tell you that if you hold the rudder slightly wrong the whole thing will pop out of the mechanism which it did multiple times when we were underway. Horribly unsafe. I can't believe this place has decent reviews on here or that it's still open. If you insist on going just please don't book in advance or you'll quite possibly have an experience as bad or worse than ours. And also if you want a better trip don't use a boat with hand rudder. They have other boats with steering wheels which are probably better but I bet if you turn them to far to the right the whole helm collapses! Thanks for ruining one of our 7 days in Copenhagen go boat! Hope you go out of business soon!
