I think for what you're paying they should have a swamp cooler or something that can help combat the summer heat. They will probably say "oh it's an open air gym and some of the rooms in the gym do have air-conditioning" but in the main rooms they do not have air-conditioning. They have fans so if you're down to sweat your butt off and be uncomfortable that's what you can expect. Other than that I recommend.

I've had a few trainers in the past and Shelby has been the only one to offer a realistic training that's meeting my goals. The custom meal plan she provided me is very flexible and also dummy proof. Another big goal of mine was to tone up while keeping my curves and I can see a huge difference in her workouts compared to other trainers. She's very encouraging and always available! Her prices are more than fair too! I've since referred a friend and got my boyfriend to sign up. The training is definitely working and keep in mind-- she builds your workouts specifically to the equipment you have access to, whether you have some or not. I highly recommend Shelby! ...I'll post before and after pictures soon.

Living in Hillcrest has so many components that make it a terrific place to live, and one of the…read moreforemost among them is having Prime Fitness just around the corner from my house. Conveniently located on First Street and accessible 24 hours, the gym is clean and well-maintained. Occupying the entire ground floor of a building, it has a feeling of spaciousness about it. Doors that open to the small patio area, along with ceiling fans, enable good air circulation throughout the space. Fellow gym-goers are friendly and always willing to engage when you approach them about routines or exercises. No attitude at this place whatsoever. People are genuinely happy to share their successes and reflections on their own self-journeys to fitness, which makes the gym feel like not only a place the place where you can go to work out, but also a place where you can continually learn from other gym enthusiasts about ways to improve your own focus on physical improvement. A sense of a community among people with a common interest in health and fitness, and a willingness to share it, are two of of the most unique and notable characteristics of this gym. The owner, Keith Deidrich, pays meticulous attention to the gym's layout and functionality, resulting in a nice rotation of machines and weights throughout the space. It's exciting to come in to find a new machine, such as the very impressive cable crossover set up, complete with high bars for dead-hangs and pull-ups, or a one-of-a-kind lat pull-over machine that requires the force of your elbows, placed on pads and pushing down, to accomplish the exercise. It's like a squat machine for the upper body. In addition to the machines and freeweights, the gym has add-on weight blocks in gradations of two-and-a-half pounds that are custom-made to be inserted on top of the machine pulley racks to increase the resistance in smaller increments when the built-in 10- or 15-pound increases are too much of a step-up. Being able to use these blocks has enabled me to slowly increase the amount I'm lifting without making a jump up to a higher weight that is just too heavy. And there are plenty of cardio machines as well. In short, this neighborhood-centered gym with its relaxed vibe, excellent equipment, and friendly and respectful members makes working out a highlight of my daily schedule.

Coaching is decent if you happen to catch the coaches on a day where they actually feel like coaching. With the exception being Coach Helen. She was always amazing and you could tell she cared about good movement, even when she was just taking classes and not coaching. Front desk girls have rbf, always on their phones and make it seem like you're bothering them when you ask them a question. Poor customer service in general. They purposely hide their 30 day notice cancellation policy for your $179 membership, as a way to make more money off of you on your way out. It's in the online contract you sign but they never disclose it to you in person. Had a dispute with them over it and there was no professionalism whatsoever. Owner didn't even try to rectify the situation or apologize. Save yourself the trouble and don't even bother dropping in here.
