When we drove past this gas station, it reminded me that we would need to fill up soon , so I mentioned it to my husband so he could find us the next reasonably priced gas . What he actually found is that this is the last gas for over 70 miles so we had to turn around and head back here to fill up. That explains why the price here is higher than the surrounding area... You pretty much have to stop here if you need gas in the area. I went inside to use the restroom and I cannot speak to the men's room because there were big yellow cones around it and signs saying it was shut down , but the lady's room was absolutely disgusting. Open garbages with used feminine hygiene products visible, incredibly dirty, toilet paper all over the floor, etc. I will say that when I walked out, the lady behind the counter was nice and seemed genuinely friendly, if not overwhelmed. Still, if you have the gas to make it to the next station, I suggest you keep on pushing. read more

Stripes in Tatum, NM is diagonally across from another gas station slash convenience store named Allsup's. Honestly, I didn't get good vibes from here on 10.11.2025. The cashier was stocking items when I walked in yet didn't say hi or smile at me. He was rather methodical checking me out with three large Seven Select PURE waters ($2.49 each or 2 for $3.50). I would have picked up some burritos to go, but the food already looked hours old plus whoever was working back there never came to see me at that counter. The restrooms are cleanish and the staff is friendlier across the intersection. Go there instead! read more

Stripes in Tatum, New Mexico restrooms are the most disgusting, nasty, filthiest I have ever seen. It should be considered a health hazard. Won't ever stop at a Stripes again. Going to the restroom on the side of the road would be much cleaner. One review said Cooperate would not acknowledge this store even existed...I understand why..it's a pure disgrace. The employees must like working in filth. As a Texan it doesn't say much for Tatum...the health department needs to be alerted. If I lived there I would contact them. Some of the other stores stopped at were very clean, kudos to them. Stripes in Tatum, New Mexico you should be ashamed. read more

This is the NASTIEST store I have ever been to. The bathroom is disgustingly. There was blood smeared on the main door to the bathroom. No TP. Very nasty. The lady was eating at the checkout. They need a health inspector STAT. read more

Most disgusting convenience store I have ever been in. These photos were taken at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. We were the only customers in there and the traffic to and from Tatum was very light, so there was no excuse for what we walked into. The smell was overwhelming. The toilets and counters hadn't been cleaned in God knows how long. It takes quite awhile to get that much calcium buildup on a sink. The lights in the ladies bathroom were off for weeks with only one light over the stalls. The sink area was completely dark. I have had several trips where the workers were standing outside smoking cigarettes in their pajama pants and acted put out that they needed to come inside. Personally I am allergic to cigarettes so walking through the smoke to get inside was irritating as well. EVERY time you leave there, your clothes and hair stink like dirty grease. Cannot complain to Stripes Corporate because they do not acknowledge the existence of this store. Praying for a new, well cared for travel center to move into Tatum. I would give this Stripes Store zero stars, but that was not an option. read more

I've been through here a few times and the employees are rude and the bathroom is nasty dirty with toilet paper and paper towels everywhere. Also dirty toilets. My recent stop, I tried getting the employees attention to let them know that I had an ice but I was ignored. read more

we were in the Tatum store yesterday. it was nasty , the outside sure could use someone with a broom to sweep the area . trash as over full . the store inside looked like hell , a broom and someone to work it sure was needed throughout. the restrooms - both of them were nasty . men's restroom the urinals were out of order (2) and the stalls were just a mess with toilet tissue all over , the floor's in both restrooms were nasty and trash as well over flowing. the floor all over the store had gum stuck on the tile that needs attention... 5 workers in the store at the time and it was a wreck . also gnats all over the sofa fountain area . we ended up going across the street to ALLSUPS. someone needs to check on this stripes store read more

Tatum N.M. - Absolutely filthy store. No way has that store been cleaned much less any sanitizing taking place. Had a sign on the women's bathroom, no men allowed! ??? By the looks of the bathroom floor it has not been mopped in a very long time! I could not get out of there fast enough! The health department needs to do a surprise inspection there! read more

The entire store was disgusting... the soda machines were either broken or sold out and uncarbonated. The floors were sticky beyond belief my daughters shoes kept sticking to the floor.... the bathrooms had toilet paper all over the floor, its like this store has been neglected for the past few weeks and nothing had been ordered or cleaned. I would not recommend this Stripes to anyone. read more

We stopped for gas but had been hungry and weren't finding much along the highway. So when I went into Stripes and saw they had Mexican food we decided to give it a try. Since I'm vegetarian I had limited options. I stuck with the bean and cheese burrito. It was surprisingly good! The tortilla tasted fresh, the beans were good and they put enough cheese to satisfy me an it was only $1.19 a burrito!!! Yeah it was definitely worth that! My partner had a ground beef and onion taco that he added cheese to and he liked it. Then he went back and got a bean and cheese taco and enjoyed it. It wasn't gourmet but it was decent. For the price it was great! Give them a try! read more
