Regular unleaded was $3.50 per gallon on 9/12/2023. This is oil and gas country yet we still pay some of the highest rates in the Southwest. While it's not the cheapest fuel in town, it's fairly competitive. There was no window cleaning fluid or squeegee. Trash cans were available, though. I don't even think diesel is offered here. An air pump station is nearby if your tires are low. I always see folks stopped there on the daily. At night, it seems well-lit. Just down the street are the Hobbs sheriff's offices. I often see the local police patrolling this area too. It's just not my go-to fuel station. I won't quote him on here because it was full of expletives. I understand though. He brought one of our company trucks up there and the job wasn't completed when they said it would be. It had already been four hours, but that was on a Saturday. So my plan will continue like this because it worked out well for me back on 10/21/2022: Go on a weekday first thing in the morning. Strive to be first in line. Park in front of a garage bay even if their doors aren't open. My appointment took a little longer because they had to special order a cabin filter which should have been delivered by O'Reilly's Auto Parts much sooner, according to one of the techs. Figures. Their lobby was being renovated when I was there. Most folks just stay in their vehicles anyway. The cashier comes to your window to take payment. My total was $194. 31 for a full service oil change, special oil filter (because... Jeep *eyes rolling*), synthetic oil, cabin air filter, air filter, and top off of all the other fluids. They inspected everything else, but I have no clue how thorough they really were. Cleaned my windshield and I was on my way. Place was packed by the time I got out just after 8:00AM.

The team was there to assist customers at both Mighty Wash locations. The other is on Bender Boulevard. I didn't go to the wash that day, but I did purchase two washes to support their cause. The "Might Protect" wash which includes a Carnuba wax ceramic clear coat protection and tire gloss was $15, "a $28 value - good for 1 year from purchase date." I ended up going there on April 16 to get my Jeep scrubbed. A nice man came out to the kiosk to assist me. At about 11:40 am the place wasn't too busy. Another younger guy waved me inside the washing tunnel and lined me up on the rail. I had never been through a drive-through wash where a "basic wipe down" was offered. Just as I was going through the blower air dryer, two employees waved at me to let me know they were there and continued to wipe down my Jeep. The vacuums were to the left as I exited the tunnel. They were free. Fairly strong. Trash cans were available so I could empty the back seat of my children's candy wrappers and whatnot. I wasn't rushed to get out of the vacuum area as they do back in California. There were some spots that I had to buff myself, but not too many. And of course, I dried the Jeep myself even more with my own towel. I'll be coming here more often... certainly to use the second wash I have before summer vacation. My…read morecompany bought new tires for my Jeep stating that I definitely use it for all kinds of job-related errands and package drop-offs, etc. First off, thank goodness for amazing bosses like mine. Second, I really appreciate the folks at Murdock York Tire. They are so easy to get along with and followed up quickly on all of my recent inquiries about my personal vehicle as well as my company's work trucks. Recently I pulled up to a bay. A young employee motioned me into the garage and got my beastie Jeep (which I named Tilda when we bought it in 2020) parked. Told the employee what I wanted. Two guys quickly came back with two different Cooper tires I requested. I played dumb even though the tread on one of them was much more tame than the other. "What's the difference between them other than the price?" I inquired. The youngster with the thicker, wider tread said "This one's more aggressive and good for all types of [surfaces]." I went with those because my Jeep didn't look all that cool to me with the factory set. The new Jeep kicks weren't cheap, but not super expensive either considering I got the more rugged, all-terrain tires (just over $1,600 for a set of four). The guys in the shop area are hustlers. I don't think I was there even 20 minutes. I received them on 11/20/2023 as a walk-in at around 1PM. I have no complaints about their work or the actual tires. They did really great on my recent 2,100+ mile trip through New Mexico, Colorado and Texas which emcompassed mud, snow, and ice and tons of rain. The ladies at the front are very friendly, laid-back and funny. Recommend!

One coupon was a buy one get one free windshield wiper. So I went and checked the place out since my wipers have seemingly went kaputz... The place wasn't too busy mid morning at about 11:30. As soon as Logan, a friendly employee, said they didn't have any in stock. I should've just left because I wanted them in that moment. But I was waited patiently until Logan found for me some that would have came from O'Reilly's. A MasterPro pair would have been under $43 - not even mentioning the coupon. He didn't tell what size they were, though. I have never tried that brand of wipers, however, Logan said he's never heard any complaints about them. I didn't tell him this, but I thought, "Thanks, but I'll just head to town and get them myself and not have to wait a day since the rain has already started." Might price out some big o' tires here someday. Check them out in their "Big O" new shiny building just outside of Hobbs, NM, on the Carlsbad Highway. Closed on Sundays.

Daylight Donuts, as some longtime Hobbsans may remember, was seemingly a permanent fixture in our…read moresmall town. They had been around for as long as I could remember growing up. Then our friend's dad who owned DD sponsored & coached our softball team when I was a kid. Then, after only a two months of my return as a resident to Hobbs in December 2022, Daylight closed their doors. Now under new ownership and in a brand new location in the North Central Plaza near Buffalo Wild Wings, Daylight is back in Hobbs America. If you want more frilly type donuts, you won't find them here. They offer the basic donuts that you can find at just about any ol' donut shop, however, I'm so glad that they taste like they used to when I was a kid. During the pandemic - and maybe it was because they knew they were going to shut down - their donuts started tasting too oily and a bit weird. Not so anymore! These donuts are light and fluffy and every sweet tooth's dream - very much on the sweet side! They just barely officially opened on Friday, June 27 2025, but they have already revised their opening hours and need to update the signage on their door. They are now closed on Sundays. Open the rest of the week from 4:30 AM until noon or are they sell out. Coffee & pigs-in-a-blanket are also available. Drive-thru is available. Welcome back to Hobbs, DD!
