You can't really drive through to get a michelada with beer inside... but you can drive through to get a Clamato Preparado with a beer ON the side. So I bought one of those suckers ($8?) and was about to drive off when something caught my eye. Smirnoff Preparada. What the heck? Turns out an SP is a 20 oz smirnoff icce, with gummy bears, chamoy and chile inside the beverage. Then on TOP of the beverage, more gummy bears, chamoy and chile. Obviously I had to get one. It tasted like sh... nothing good but the gummy bear chamoy concoction on top was delicious. All of these things are an acquired taste of course so feel free to experience this madness on your own.

This Walgreens is one of the oldest in the Rio Grande Valley, yet it doesn't show like it is aging…read moremuch. It's very well kept and always looks organized on the inside. This is also one of the few Walgreens that is opened 24 hours a day. I've had to come here before at extremely late hours. Other Walgreens in the surrounding area aren't open 24 hours, but this one is and that makes it very dependable. There is a Redbox on the outside of Walgreens, which makes it ideal to rent movies when you have nothing to do. This place used to be the place were I would buy video game magazines, as their magazine selection is extensive. However, I tried doing that recently and I couldn't find a single one. They seem to have gotten rid of those magazines so I was disappointed on that. For your medical or beauty needs, this is the place to go.

Stripes is convenience store where some of its locations have the Laredo Taco Company is located. Amusingly entertained by my co-worker's statement, I went to a Stripes in my area and decided to seel out the "Q Taco", unfortunately I did not see it in the menu so I instead went for a ham and cheese taco and gran tocino taco. Again, I'm not an expert on what makes a good taco, but I can tell you they were tasty and make for a fast greasy breakfast on the go.

A young gentleman waiting also said they lock the door to go to the bathroom. There were at one point like 8 of us outside waiting for at least 20 to 30 minutes, people started leaving. We could not see anyone at all on the inside and I started to get really concerned. Why would there only be 1 person on a busy evening working? I was about ready to call 411 or 911. I rattled the doors instead. This tiny lady came to the door finally and was super pissed off at me. She wouldn't let me talk, she just gave me a butt chewing about how rude it was to rattle the door. I went on and made my purchase but...really? She went off on me because I was concerned? Sorry, they don't do that in Austin and in these weird times, I don't think a tiny lady should be there by herself or be rude to any customer. She could have said she appreciated my concern but that was the store manager's procedure.

The tacos here are preferred over the competition because they aren't as greasy nor are they soggy. The tortilla usually tastes better than at other gas stations that sell breakfast tacos and the deals available are pretty good too. .99 cent tacos are a current deal and they are good. This gas station has a rewards program called the Plenty card. I recommend that you get it of its your preferred gas pump stop. Any Exxon brand of gas station accepts the plenti rewards and the way it works is as follows: You earn 1 point per gallon that you pump. You earn two points for in-store purchases such as tacos or junk food. The more pints you earn, the more you can get back in cash discounts. Since we all pump gas weekly, the pints do rack up fast. Often, I am told that I qualify for a 2-5 dollar discount on my gas purchase or my taco purchase. I have the choice of using it or banking for a larger expense. What's better, you can earn points outside the gas station as well for qualifying purchases at Macy's and other online stores. It's a free card that I would recommend you get if you frequent Exxon gas stations in general. The gas machines have recently been updated and the cashiers are always smiling and friendly in the morning. I can't say anything of the afternoon employees as I don't usually go inside in the afternoon. Go for the tacos, and get the Con Todo taco, which has a little bit of everything. It won't disappoint.

The Cool Spot was so cool that it was a drive in convenience store where you could buy a 32oz corona, dressed with salt and lime, with the top partially off as they weren't allowed to "open" it for you. Note: This was before the days of open containers so your passenger would hang out, drinking corona as you foamed at the mouth watching the frosty brew disappear at lightning speed. Little did I know that 10 years later, in McAllen, TX, I'd find the same amazingness. Now, I didnt test the corona/dressed thing, but I was able to get the BEST Michelada. You drive in, ask for a Clamato Preparada and they take clamato and sprinkle fairy dust in it (prob lime, salt, chile.) Then you get a beer to go with it that's not open and drive off. I ordered two of these lovely 32 oz cups of deliciousness, a tecate and my total cost was $10. It was like a fantasy... if your fantasies involve well made micheladas (and mine do.)
