Does this place have good food... possibly? Good luck trying to find out which one it is…read more This place has all the old hits for Mexican home food, whether it's from breakfast tacos, to lunch guisos...they also have barbacoa, carnitas, etc. my experience has always been that when you have so much... quality lacks. First off...when you walk in, it's somewhat confusing. The building feels old...I'm not sure what it was before, maybe an adult day care? They have these old school cafeteria tables that are bolted into the ground. So do you sit down and order with a waitress? There's a counter on the right side...do they seat you? And then there's the huge line where you actually choose your guises or plate you want. One HUGE pet peeve of mine with establishments is when they don't post a price. On the wall, they have all the plates you can choose from...with no price. Why? Are we doing a guessing game? Can you imagine going to a place like McDonalds...and they have no prices next to their burgers? Why? So you take a guess on the price on what you want to order....the food "looks" good. But they give it to you on these old school cafeteria plates. Come on guys...do some investments on new cutlery and plates. If you are dining in, after them giving you your plate, you seat yourself and then a waitress comes by and asks you what you want to drink. It feels like chaos in there. On top of everything...they have a counter to the back where you can order barbacoa, chicharrones, or carnitas by the pound...but it's a mess because those customers blend in with everyone else. Is the place humming? Definitely. I had the carne guisada plate... honestly I think eating it out of that 1980s plate took away half the flavor. The carne guisada was decent. I would actually recommend the El Tigre carne guisada plate for only $7.50 over this $12 plate. Is there something of quality in that place... possibly. But I'm not going to play Where's Waldo in trying to find it.

I mostly go to the "Y" Drive In to fill up our propane tank. There are fewer places since the pandemic where you can take your own tank to refill. The folks at "Y" Drive In always are friendly, positive, and helpful. Just go pay for the amount you need, and then show the receipt to the friendly attendant, and they will take care of it. It's great to find a place that has both a good product and excellent customer service. That's the difference between a chain store and one that is locally owed and operated. No whining at the "Y"! The El Tigre food store is the closest gas station to my workplace that I prefer. Often, it is a…read moreplace to stop to get their breakfast tacos. The tacos here are preferred over the competition because they aren't as greasy nor are they soggy. The tortilla usually tastes better than at other gas stations that sell breakfast tacos and the deals available are pretty good too. .99 cent tacos are a current deal and they are good. This gas station has a rewards program called the Plenty card. I recommend that you get it of its your preferred gas pump stop. Any Exxon brand of gas station accepts the plenti rewards and the way it works is as follows: You earn 1 point per gallon that you pump. You earn two points for in-store purchases such as tacos or junk food. The more pints you earn, the more you can get back in cash discounts. Since we all pump gas weekly, the pints do rack up fast. Often, I am told that I qualify for a 2-5 dollar discount on my gas purchase or my taco purchase. I have the choice of using it or banking for a larger expense. What's better, you can earn points outside the gas station as well for qualifying purchases at Macy's and other online stores. It's a free card that I would recommend you get if you frequent Exxon gas stations in general. The gas machines have recently been updated and the cashiers are always smiling and friendly in the morning. I can't say anything of the afternoon employees as I don't usually go inside in the afternoon. Go for the tacos, and get the Con Todo taco, which has a little bit of everything. It won't disappoint.
