I called Spa Doctor when a persistent slow leak in my hot tub baffled my previous service people…read moreand the technician from Spa Doctor worked quickly and confidently to find the problem. The leak was coming from a rodent bite in a water line coming into the tub from the hot tub pump, in an almost inaccessible spot inside the rear wall of the outer shell of the tub. He crawled way under the bowels of the tub, past mouse droppings without a wince and identified the problem. Spa Doctor ordered the part and was back in 4 days to install it. Now a problem that has been nagging at us for over a year has been solved, and an area outside the tub causing rotting and dampness is entirely dry. Very fair pricing (one-third of the price that had been quoted by my previous service person who turned out to be unsuccessful with this one). I'm a fan and have Spa Doctor's phone number 246-5091 posted in obvious places on my refrigerator and on my spa chemical box. He's now my regular spa service guy. http://www.spadoctorlongisland.com/

They did a great job with the pool install, but my only complaint is the amount of subsoil they…read moreleft after my semi-inground pool install. I am struggling to grow grass in the at least 10 inches of subsoil they spread out over my existing grass. I even measure as I had to dig most of it up to try to incorporate some organic matter into to to try to get some grass to grow. As I was digging it was very obviously the soil difference between what used to be the top of my lawn, and this new 10 inch layer of subsoil which goes completely around the pool and a few feet away as well. Spent about 200 bucks on peatmoss, and compost to try to to improve the condition of the soil as well as hours of back breaking labor to break up that compacted subsoil layer and incorporate it in. If knew better at the time, I would have asked them to haul more of it away (I paid to remove the subsoil that was dug out for the pool) and at the time I did not realize how much subsoil was left by them. I didn't want to call them back after the fact because my concrete driveway has suffered enough cracks from the heavy machine used to dig out the pool. From what I read online it takes a century for 1 inch of subsoil to become top soil on its own...ugh. I wish I knew this before I decided to go semi-inground honestly and maybe my troubles will make you a more informed shopper. This is a year later and the soil looks awful, the grass looks starved of nutrients and the soil is so hard over there, It's so upsetting I have to deal with with half of my yard looking like crap for who knows how long. Also not to mention one side of my pool is buried almost 8-10 inches deeper than the other side because they left more soil on one side than the other.

After that company delayed my installation several times, blaming it on the unavailability of the particular stove I wanted from Vermont Castings, I reached out to The Stove Store and More and was glad that I did. John indicated that there was no shortage of the stove I wanted, and that he could have it installed in two weeks at a price that was also quite a bit cheaper than the original store (I hadn't even told John the price the other store was charging me). When I called the other store back to let them know that other suppliers could get the stove that I wanted, they responded by saying they now had the stove and were ready to install. Due to that other store's dishonesty I cancelled the project and instead purchased from John at The Stove Store and More. True to his word, John had the stove installed in two weeks. I couldn't be happier with the way it all worked out. About two years after installing the Vermont Castings stove, the dampener plate cracked. I reached out to The Stove Store and More to get a replacement, and John shipped one immediately. I highly recommend this place.

So when the second one finally died, replacing it ASAP turned out to be more frustrating than expected. Checking out every open retailer on a Sunday afternoon turned up one spa that met my lounge, controls, access panel placements, size, delivery, and budget requirements. If not for a serious reservation (about spray foam insulation) I would have ordered it that day. Fortunately, I waited to check out two showrooms that were closed on Sundays. The first was a waste of time. The second, Hot Shots, had five potential models which made it challenging to pick one. Dino not only knows his hot tubs, his suggestions saved me the trouble and expense of upgrading the electric panel. Best of all, no games and no haggling, just honest prices. Unlike competitors, he's the opposite of 'hard sell.' (When told I'd decided on a hot tub he suggested I think about it overnight.) A month later I'm loving the new tub. The build quality is impressive, the jets amazing, and the first electric bill confirms it's even more efficient than the two previous spas (which also featured superior insulated panels instead of blow on insulation). Highly recommended!!
