    Moonshot Hazy Double IPA ($16/4pk)
    John D.

Brew the Right Thing Believe it or not, as little as just five years ago, the Spartan-Keyes neighborhood used to be quite the hub for craft brewing and even housed a distillery, 10th St Distillery, that's now moved further north near J-Town on N 4th St. Along with Strike there used to be Clandestine (RiP), Santa Clara Valley Brewing (RiP), and Hermitage (RiP). Santa Clara Valley Brewing got replaced by Narrative Fermentations but Strike has hung in there for nearly twenty years (ca. 2008). The Good: *Stopped in here recently with the boiz from werk and love that the ambiance and vibe hasn't changed much in the time they've been around. It has been a few years since I've visited and they've definitely upgraded the seating and lighting, but it's great that it's still in the heart of the brewery. *Bartender was friendly *Rewards program *Prices are really good, as they should be when you're getting it straight from the source. *Great selection of something for everyone, as they have all the usuals from pilsners and IPAs to Stouts. The Meh: *No food served and I'm not sure if food trucks every show up, but I'm pretty sure you're welcome to bring-your-own. The Ugly: *The problem with the location being in the heart of the brewery is it's basically a warehouse and the summers in here can be *brutal*. Conclusion: Great place to stop for a pint or two with the boiz.

A great little brewery to spend a couple of pleasant hours. We walked in and the bartender immediately showered us with many samples of the different beers . He was also very knowledgable about each and every type of beer . They brew everything in house and we eventually decided to go with the hard seltzer and their sour , French-inspired beer. Both were really good ! We will likely come back again !

Nice intimate brewery for you needs. Parking is super easy. The plaza is full of multiple businesses but plenty of space. The staff at the brewery are nice and knowledgeable. Went in on a Thursday and it appeared to be semi-slow. Again, think intimate setting. Playlist was superb if you're a millennial indie-alternative fan like myself. Bree selection wasn't overwhelming and had all the best options (light, fruity, hoppy). All in all I will definitely be back.

The serving station plus 2 TVs showing the SF Giants Baseball game and boxing ... Their Taproom board that list all their craft beers

Our membership number was not recognized! I do not understand why! We used to be in their mug club that for discontinued!

I went here for their Comedy Night and had such a great time! This place is super hidden--you really have to search or know someone to find it. But if you're looking for a spot that can seat a lot of people, has a chill vibe, and where you can watch a game or enjoy some comedy, then this is definitely the place to go! The service is great, and it has a rustic feel since it's located among warehouses. I love the creativity. The drink selection is great too, even though I don't drink alcohol--they have some sodas, which is cool for non-alcoholics. My only issue is that it can get quite hot in there during the summer, so just keep that in mind.

Five Layer Cake Stout... very nice hint of chocolate.

Had a great evening with my wife at Strike Brewing Company this evening at about 8pm. We met the very knowledgeable and friendly bar tender to help select from the different craft beers made on site. A wide selection that will definitely satisfy beer aficionados. The Craft beers were great, we saw more and more people come in during the relaxing and fun hour we spent at Strike. We have not visited for a long and are glad to be back. We really appreciate the great new layout of the bar and the high chairs with comfy chair backs. A great place for a fun evening.

Strike Brewing in SJ is kind of hidden, but if you follow the signs throughout the parking lot, you should be good. Plenty of parking available, the lot shared by the warehouse. Lots of beer kegs lining the walls when you enter. And the bar and seating area is bright and spacious. Two TV's and a multitude of mugs decorate the wall behind the bar, part of their mug club program (regulars can get discounts on beer by paying a membership fee). And there is a shelf with board games for guests to play while enjoying their drinks. No food here, except for bags of chips, no regular flavors, all spicy. The place was pretty empty when we visited on a Saturday night, but that made it easy get quick service at the bar, sit wherever we wanted, and hear our own conversations, unlike other places with noise echoing everywhere. But maybe a little too quiet... at least on the night we visited. If you're looking for a more lively venue, this place is definitely not for you. It's way more laid back. And the setting adds to that feel, because it almost feels more like a warehouse than a taproom... industrial equipment and storage items stacked high, right next to the seating. They have a small selection of beers on their menu, and they serve 8oz glasses for half the price, so we opted to try 5 different beers and share. Double IPA, Right on Tenth, Triple Play, Two Seam, Pine Tar Incident. Pretty good beer overall. I expected more from the Triple Play, but the others were actually better. My fave was the Right on Tenth (Narrative Fermentations Collab). At 7.2% ABV, it actually seemed stronger than the 10% ABV Triple Play. The bartender explained that it's not always consistent, so maybe we try again on a different day, and it will be better. The service here is excellent by the way. The bartender allowed us to try samples, was knowledgeable about the beers, and was all smiles while answering our questions and ringing up our orders. Cool spot for some beers and good times with friends.

After all of these years, totally thought I had written a review for Strike...but I have not! I'm grateful for Strike being around and have enjoyed their beers. 2 Seam, Dinger, Triple Play...baseball themed! I also like how the taproom usually has a game on the TV too. Very nice low key ambiance too, the taproom isn't large but it does plenty of benches, bar seats, and tall boy tables (and cans for takeout lol). So perfect for a group outing, date, or just a cold drink if you're rolling solo. Other cool things about the brewery? Mug Club! Kid and Dog friendly too. They also have a ton of board games and cards available too. If you have never been...Strike can be easy to miss if you're driving down 10th street but look for the yellow taproom sign and pull right into the back. Parking is clearly marked now and there is a food truck present too. Final Piece of Donovan Life Advice? Perfect pre-game spot for a San Jose Giants game or Costco trip! Lol

Cool tasting room right next to the tanks.

Dog friendly brewery in a warehouse. Don't be weirded out when you pull in to the parking lot. Drive around the right side of the building about halfway down. Friendly place. Kids welcome. Games & picnic tables & nachos from a vendor. Beer is good ... interesting hops. Glad we stopped here!

It is time that I write a review for my favorite local San Jose brewery. Super delicious beers and the thing that I love about this brewery is that they always are brewing up something new. There is always a beer to look forward to or a new beer to try. My absolute favorite beer that they make seasonally is Lost in the Sun. A super juicy and crushable hazy double IPA. Also, everyone behind the bar is super nice which makes this place a great brewery to hangout at. PS: Bring back Quick Pitch!

Beer is mediocre, but the Santa Cruz brew is exceptional. Felt like a one hit wonder to be transparent.

Ask the Community - Strike Brewing

Can I bring a bottle of wine and is there a corkage fee?

Our permit does not allow any outside alcohol, we can only serve the beer made in our brewery. Sorry about that!

    Do you serve food?

No, there are usually vendors set up outside to buy from (overpriced IMO). Or bring in your own

Will you guys fill a 128oz growler/mini keg?

We sure can, as long as it's filled like a normal growler off the taps, that's no problem! Cheers!

I see you are opening a location in Campbell (yay!), when do anticipate the grand opening to be?

    Really? I didn't know

    Do y'all have air conditioning?

No, but there is a giant fan.

I know you guys love dogs but are they allowed inside?

They sure are as long as they are on leash!

Will you guys be showing NFL games on Sunday?

Yes, we sure will be showing the games!

Do you allow puppies into the brewery?

    Absolutely! We love puppies!

    Kid friendly is the place?

    Absolutely! Kids are welcome.

Fox Tale Fermentation is a small place like a Japanese ramen shop. My high school classmate suggestion this place and I thought she was vegetarian. I asked her why this place; she wanted to try it out but she's a meat eater. I'm down to try new places so we went. When we went, it was really crowded for a Thursday dinner time. A lady saw my cane and offer her table to sit at so I felt seen. You pretty much order at the front counter; you pour your own water. Front counter was so nice to us as we try to order. We got the funk salad and kombucha. We didn't order a lot because we wanted to try the place. When we got to our table, it was near the door. Our funk salad came and it was hefty mf. It was a bowl of salad all right. So you know how I said earlier that I don't like vegetarian food? OMG I was amazed. The best salad I've eaten. The vinaigrette was so good; it was citrusy. My salad was cut into small pieces so it wasn't big that I need to cut it. The sweet potato was sauteed. The princess sauerkraut was so good. I don't like sauerkraut at all but it was divine. I never tried kombucha because I thought it was dirt tea. I was wrong. It has the fermented taste and I never knew. After trying it, it's not something I would order again. I liked how I was eating "healthy" food after I ate bad yesterday. I don't have that bad bloated feeling. It's very wheelchair friendly and restroom is unisex. The restroom is clean. The establishment is clean. I would go here again if I have a vegetarian visitor. This place rocks!

The food took a little longer than usual to come out but that was normal considering how busy they were. Our order included the Funk Bowl and Funky Nachos, these are our go-to's because they're so good and filling. This time around we decided to also try the Otoño tacos, this is officially my favorite dish here and I'm hoping it never goes away! The ingredients in this dish work perfectly together and the crema is absolutely delicious, I would definitely buy a jar of this if I could.
