Sending my child to this school was by far the best decision I have made. He started in 3rd grade…read moreand my only regret is that I didn't bring him to Sage sooner. Its a place where your child will be known and celebrated for his abilities. I couldn't recommend this school highly enough. just fyi, I am NOT affiliated with the school. Was never told to write anything. My child graduated a year ago and I miss the school and all the teachers and the intellectual, supportive, warm vibe of the school. If you have a curious kiddo who loves to learn, don't think twice. This is a truly magical place that will be your child's second home until the end of 8th grade.

We sent our child here for 2 years and were thoroughly disappointed. It's a $40k year public school. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons: Pros: -slightly more advance curriculum than an ordinary public school but in-line with any other private school Cons: -embarrassingly underfunded, they ask you to bring your own supplies (including disinfecting wipes) at the beginning of the year -location, it's in Foxboro which only makes sense if you live in Foxboro -staff completely lacks diversity -after care programs are a joke, the photography club involved almost exclusively drawing pictures -also, they accept anyone who applies. There are several smart kids at the school but anyone average will make the cut. -the Head of School, simply put, there is something wrong with this woman. She's abrasive and rude to certain parents for no reason at all. The school will better with her gone.

We also barely learn anything, for if you get anything wrong the teacher just yells at you, not explain what you did wrong or what u misunderstood, they just yell. How do you expect me to learn when you're not teaching me how to? You just expect me to get everything right?? Thats the worst way of teaching someone. The teacher is super rude and annoying, and doesnt help me at all. DO not recommend especially if you want your kids to enjoy after school classes and dont want them to come home almost breaking down or complaining because they were called stupid in front of the whole class.

The math curriculum at this school thoroughly trains students to use logic and problem solving skills, instead of just memorizing. My daughter's math skills have improved dramatically since we started the program years ago. Would recommend students begin as early as possible to keep up with and progress to more advanced levels. Very affordable compared to full time private prep schools. There are no gifted programs at public schools in Rhode Island, as far as I know. If full-time private schools are too expensive, then this school would be the best alternative for college preparation in math. RSM gives students the opportunity to participate in international and national math competitions, like American Math Competition and Math Kangaroo, which gives recognition and rewards students for their hard work. Winners may add their awards on their resume. The students at RSM find joy and inspiration in connecting with other like-minded kids. The atmosphere is generally laid back, as long as you avoid any angry or stressed-out looking peeps. The principal at this particular location is professional, welcoming, kind, tactful, and accommodating. She's approachable and easy to communicate with. The teachers my daughter has had were also very nice. We, as a family, particularly loved Mrs. Bhattacharyya because she was kind, genuinely passionate about teaching and actually cared about her students. Our kid has ADHD and Mrs. Bhattacharyya was one of the least judgmental teachers we've ever met. She allowed the kids to be themselves and gave them the right amount of breaks they needed to destress and focus better. Love, love, love her!!! I just met other wonderful teachers this year, too. This school is rich in cultural diversity, which I greatly appreciate. Huge parking lot. Easy access from the Providence Hwy when heading south; must make a u-turn when heading north. Close to the 95 freeway. About 30 minutes away from Providence, RI. Smallish class sizes. Cons: 1. Ridiculously too much homework! This requires parents/guardians to stay on top of things, providing support and encouragement to ensure students complete the task. Many kids benefit from one-on-one assistance, but not all parents/guardians are able to provide this. The school does offer FREE homework help for a few hours every Friday. If this isn't enough, hiring a private tutor or going to a tutorial center, like Sylvan, might help. Students' work (homework, quizzes, exams) are graded. This may or may not be important to students and parents--everyone's goal is different. Grades do not have to be disclosed/transfered to other schools. 2. After-school courses during the week are tough, because our daughter is exhausted after a long day of regular classes. Right now, she's overloaded with work. Weekend classes were the best choices for us in the past, because our kid was able to focus better earlier in the day. Hopefully, my husband and daughter will reconsider switching to weekend classes again. 3. We just had one negative experience in the past 2 1/2 years. (The majority of teachers here are kind and wonderful!) When teachers do not know how to manage their classroom and discipline their students, they immediately send them to the office and put all the blame on the child. Teachers who are well-trained in classroom management implement an in-class disciplinary system using rewards and consequences for their good work/misbehavior. Some teachers need to understand this, especially when parents are cooperative, providing support, and doing everything they can at home. Teaching is definitely one of the hardest jobs in the world, requiring patience. Conclusion: Overall, I think RSM is an excellent program for students to gradually develop a strong foundation in math, regardless of whether or not he/she decides to compete. This would help prepare them for the SAT in high school and for critical thinking in math related topics in real life (business, finances, investments, budgeting, shopping, engineering, etc.) It's probably more helpful to read tbe reviews of previous students who benefitted from RSM.

I highly recommend Little Sprout (LSA) for anyone looking for a daycare or preschool for your child. This is a wonderful school with loving and caring adults. From early on my children were getting hugs and affection from the teachers which made me feel great every time I dropped off. They were always genuinely happy to greet me and my children every morning and afternoon. My children received an excellent preschool education there - and grew tremendously both socially and academically. Both of them have made amazing friendships with students and connections with teachers. Highlights for my children have been the home cooked lunches and healthy snacks, outdoor play time, thematic play based units, exposure to different languages and cultures, tinkering table, plays and performances, and classroom jobs. Ina and Mark, the directors, know each child and family personally and create a wonderful space for children to learn and play. I am an educator myself and I can't say enough good things about the teachers and staff. Please go and take a tour and see for yourself what a special place it is.
