The school is clean and neat, there's a huge, enclosed play area behind the building that is well-stocked with toys and things for the kids to play with. They structure each day, and the kids learn a lot. If you're worried about safety (which any good parent is), you'll be happy to know that NCCC is about 3 buildings down from the local fire station. The other kids and their parents are just nice, normal people from all walks of life. We've only had positive interactions with the kids, parents, and teachers. My son will heading off to kindergarten soon, and it's really hard to leave. They are great people who care for your kid just as much as you do.

Although it was a sweet smooth process getting my son enrolled in the school and the staff was so…read morefriendly, it quickly took a turn for the worse. My son struggles with some social emotional skills in especially new environments and as a first-time parent I am still learning and navigating my new life as a mother. However, I feel that Latoya could've done a better job as a director in immediately providing me with strategics and possible solutions on the situation rather than making me feel like a failure as a parent. Not even a hour after dropping of my son, I received a rushed call to pick my son up. When I got there, I had asked Latoya if I could speak to her privately about my son to which she stated he had to be present. I disagreed because it is inappropriate and unprofessional and yet she still protested against my request until she finally gave in. Once we were in a private room, her attitude and demeanor changed to a judgmental, insensitive and unprofessional woman. I felt belittled and disrespected on so many levels because I feel like if she had a calmer, collected, empathic and understanding first initial approach with me things wouldn't have escalated the way it did. She raised her voice on multiple occasions and even raised her finger to point at me which I found offensive. She falsely accused me of justifying my son's behavior without understanding that he may have mental health disorder that prevent him from expressing his words correctly to strangers he does not yet know well . She failed to comprehend that as a mother I am my sons biggest and only advocate and was trying to understand what was going on. My encounter with her has been the worse experience ever. I am quite shocked myself because everything was so good and smooth in the beginning. Overall, I feel like the situation could've been handled better by expressing empathy, patience and professionalism with a calm and collected tone of voice. In the end, you have to be sensitive and gentle with people because you don't really know what's going on in their lives and it's not okay to belittle others. I wish she would've provided alternative solutions and other options rather than guilt tripping me. When I emailed her stating I was leaving a negative review, she quickly stated she had all this information and informative resources that will better assist me on my situation. However, I've been waiting ever since, and she continues to neglect the matter. Luckily, I found a backup plan and have a strong support system and all the resources I need. The learning Experience definitely lacks well trained staff members and could benefit more with additional training and a stronger resourceful leader who isn't riding a high horse.

She reassured me, first, that my feelings were normal and she allowed me the time to work through them by being able to drop in, not too often as I had to let go, and sending me photos of my little one having a great time. She is also quite patient, I was that parent that called a lot and she has not ever turned me away but, she listened and gave reassurance and advice where needed. I give her 100 stars!!!

NOT SAFE FOR TODDLERS During the tour in May of 2023,…read moreeverything seemed calm and put together. I witness the toddlers quietly enjoying a snack and they all seemed fairly happy. During the registration process, the director was very slow to respond. A week before our son's first day, I still didn't know who his teachers would be, what he should bring to school (lunch, snacks, bedding, lovey), or which classroom he would be in. This was all very unsettling. When I walked in on his second day, it was complete chaos in the front area. Pre-k children were running all over the place playing while the toddlers (some as young as just 15 mo) were mixed in with Pre-K and looked completely scared. Come to find out that it is illegal to mix those groups together or at the very least, you need a special license. By the third day, I still wasn't told who my son's teachers were so I opted to pick him up early. I was horrified to see that a pre-k teacher (who didn't know my son or my son's name) had given him a twizzler as a snack and was sitting in front of a tv screen watching Finding Nemo. My son was only 17 mo old at the time. Candy is considered a choking hazard and we don't allow screens for him at all. No one asked our permission for him to watch the movie and no one knew of his dietary restrictions because no one had introduced me to his teachers. Not to mention the fact that this goes against all the marketing materials that you're given. The place is a hot mess. The marketing materials that they give you are a complete lie. The turn over for the toddler rooms is higher than average and from what I witness, it's NOT SAFE. The director is extremely disorganized, doesn't know what her teachers do on a day to day basis and provides little to no communication with parents. Needless to say, WE REMOVED OUR SON FROM THEIR CARE AFTER THE THIRD DAY. Of course I reached out to the 1800 number and explained my story. Again, I was given false promises. I was told: -That I could enroll my son at a different location, at the same price as Knoweldge Beginnings, Westwood. That never happend. -I was told that I would be speaking to the district VP about how Knowledge Beginnings was being run. That never happened. Essentially, all promises made to me over the phone by the district manager were never upheld. That pales in comparison to how little Knowledge Beginnings cares for their toddlers and doesn't not offer the care that is described in their marketing materials. From one concerned parent to another, do not take your children there.

I have two children, ages 4.5 and 16mos, who have both attended the Westwood Knowledge Beginnings…read moresince they were 3 months old. It has been a great experience for them overall. Our girls have thrived in that environment, much due to the nurturing staff and just the right balance of academic focus and self-directed play. Our eldest child is quite prepared for kindergarten at this point but still has another year before she starts in public school! The staff is quite experienced, many of them having worked at the center for 5+ years and who also bring their own children to the location. Maryellen and Stacey, the Director and Associate Director respectively, are attentive to the needs of the children and their families while continuously guiding the staff toward excellence; recently demonstrated through achieving National accreditation. Some perceived drawbacks to this center might be: the location - Rt 1 can be quite busy and the parking lot is not huge, but the location was quite convenient for us and we've rarely had a problem with parking. Snacks are provided but lunches are not included in the cost of tuition- this suits our picky eaters! And the center has recently partnered with a company called Smart Lunches to provide meals for purchase. We absolutely recommend this center to families seeking a caring place where their children will blossom and grow.

My Wife and I were actively searching for a daycare to begin this September for infant care. We drive past this location everyday. It's located at a very busy intersection of Route 18 and Route 58. It's not a huge place and taking a left there seems pretty difficult, especially during rush hour. We both work, and all of the daycare facilities have been very accommodating in scheduling tours (because they're open until after work hours because that's why people need daycare!). Well, that accommodation ended with this place. I called up in the morning at 8:15, they're open for a bit by that point. The person I spoke with had no clue about tours or scheduling tours...they said I'd get a call back from the director who was not there yet. I finally got a call back...two days later. Then when I explained again what I was interested in because the first person didn't take notes, they seemed annoyed that we wanted to tour around 4:45/5pm. They said they'd need to look into it and call me back. That was about three months ago now. They haven't called back and they won't. If their customer service, attention to detail, diligence at their job, and professionalism is exhibited by their behavior in just trying to schedule a tour then how do they care for your child?
