If you are a first timer be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early so your instructor can give you the details on how the equipment works and go over all the different moves for the class. It was my first time using the megaformer so there was a bit of a learning curve but it wasn't too bad using it. I definitely got a good workout and various muscles were sore the next day. The room and equipment were all very well maintained and there was a lot of cool air flow throughout the class so while the workout could be intense, I never felt overheated or warm. The manager was very nice and told me she would get that waived for me . She said I would have a 1.00 charge and the contract will say there is a $59 charge because there would be one but she would waive it. I was very appreciative. Today I was charged $72! The 59.00 plus the extra 12.99 for my added membership Medicare doesn't pay for. I went in there this morning she was not in yet . The front desk left a message for her to call me. She never did. I called at 1130 and he told me she said she never said that. I told them another sales guy was there at the time and witnessed it. He said she would call me back. Never heard from her! Unbelievably rude. I will report this to my cc company and cancel my membership. Why treat members like this? Very sad .

What's great about Planet Fitness is that it's cheap, affordable, and not crowded. If you don't care about fitness classes, Planet Fitness is really the gym for you as it's got a lot of machines (specifically cardio machines). Its selection of free weights is definitely much smaller than other chain gyms, but because there's hardly any other people here, those weights are pretty accessible. This place has squat racks, but no lounge hydromassage beds. I'm glad that I got grandfathered in to their old plans and am appreciative that us loyal customers didn't get a cost increase of memberships. If you're new, you're paying $15 a month and a yearly $49 fee making it way more affordable than all others on the market. Pay an extra $10 a month to get a black card membership which gives you access to hydromassages, chair massages, tanning beds, all the other Planet Fitness locations in the nation, and small discounts to their non-premium drinks. I only wish that they were more reliable in fixing their broken machines especially because I report it. What I love about the black card is that I like planning outings much further where I live so that I can use one of these for an exercise and continue my outing in the same town. There's 17+ Planet Fitnesses Phoenix and its surrounding cities.
