If you're over 40 and ready to start a change in your body, this is the place for you…read more I started APF in July of 2024, and am so glad I did. Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of working out, but as I've gotten older, put on some extra weight (thanks COVID) and now have a job working from home, I just don't get up and move around as much as I used to. I realized that my muscles are a lot weaker than they used to be, and I simply wasn't getting up and walking around enough anymore. So now I attend classes twice a week and I am always glad I went after the class is over. Every class is very individualized to what I need. I may be working on the same muscle groups as the person next to me, but the exercise is specialized to me in a way that fits my needs. Not everyone is in the same shape or has the same physical fitness needs, and APF customizes your workout to fit your individual needs. They always take into account any injuries I may have, and give me alternate exercises until I'm healed. Additionally the trainers are always so positive and encouraging! They show you the correct form and way to do each exercise, and encourage questions if you want help or clarification. They don't push me to do more than I am safely able to. I definitely feel much stronger then when I first started and it also helps make me feel better all around. I definitely recommend APF!

I don't…read morehave to tell anybody how bad 2020 was, but Converse CrossFit made it just a little bit better by providing members with a safe environment to focus on their physical health through fitness and nutrition. Having been to multiple other gyms, I appreciated that their focus was safety and technique first, worry about your ego later. As an unpaid bonus, I became part of an extremely positive community that sees my shortcomings as opportunities to improve and celebrates my strengths as if I had just finished the CrossFit Games.

It's sad to hear the news that CCC is closing its doors. I'll tell you my experience anyway…read more If any of you ever follow Infinite Elgintensity, you'll see that there's no love lost between him and crossfit. His videos are all Cobra Kai on the crossfit community "no mercy." But then there's Joe. The man, who in my humble opinion, is the gold standard of what separates working out from training. I could easily plop down a few bucks at Gold's with a trainer, wait in line to use the squat rack, but some girl is using it to post pics on IG. I guess I could get some cardio by racing other people to the weights. Sure, but why would I? You don't get that nonsense at CCC. There's weights, squat racks, etc to get going. Just remember, I stepped through those doors, and Joe greeted me. It was like entering the Jedi temple and being greeted by one of the Master Jedi. Doing the Jedi Mind Trick, Joe waved me over. We went through the whole spiel, and I won't lie and say I wasn't mesmerized. This was the real deal right here. Medic in the army, several tours, worked with other soldiers to help them pass PT, etc------all on the list. I was thinking a year with this guy, and I'll be like Anakin Skywalker. I went in there weighing about a deuce and a half, and I left there a little under a deuce. I went from knowing what a pullup looked like to pulling off weighted pullups. I was deadlifting 380. There wasn't a moment in time when I remember pulling off these feats. After doing those pullups I felt like I could just say screw it and Tarzan my way home, but there weren't enough vines. Real talk, I look at myself at my last day there and think that was my peak self. Damn that's messed up. My peak self should be in the future not the past, right? Now I have to rethink my life. J/K I have to find a new place, but damn CCC is hard to beat
