I joined Iron Oak a little over a year ago, three months postpartum with my second baby, in a new…read morearea where I didn't know many people. I was honestly just hoping to move my body again -- I never expected it to change my life the way it has. Iron Oak has made me stronger both mentally and physically than I've ever been. But even more than that, it gave me something I didn't realize I needed so deeply -- friendship, support, and a true sense of community. This isn't just a gym; it's a place where people genuinely care about one another and show up for each other every single day. When I started CrossFit, I knew absolutely nothing, and Coach Crystal never once made me feel behind or out of place. She is patient, encouraging, and the ultimate cheerleader. Her support and the environment she's created make Iron Oak feel welcoming to everyone, no matter where you're starting from. Walking through those doors has become one of the best parts of my day. I'm so grateful to be part of this community and so thankful for the strength and confidence I've gained here. If you're looking for more than just a workout -- if you want connection, growth, and people who truly believe in you -- Iron Oak is the place to be. - Joelle Powell

I visited here for just one Saturday from out of town and felt very welcome. Great CrossFit gym…read morewith many elite (and some slightly more novice, like me) athletes with encouraging, humble attitudes. Very friendly group. I was impressed by many of of the lifts and it only encouraged me to hit a PR myself too. The owner has a fantastic attitude that he transfers to class participants. On the board I noticed they had a lot for different events scheduled, some just fun outings, others performance focused. If you live in SA or are just visiting, I would recommend dropping by to check them out.

I heard about Crossfit & asked my husband to try it out with me for just a month. He thought I was nuts! He said it was to hard & only for fit, sporty type people. I wanted to be that fit, sporty type person. So, I called & signed us up for a few WODs. I walked in the box & was immediately intimidated. That is, until I was greeted by Coach Jerry and a few of the other 7:30AMers. I received 1-1 instruction and my questions were answered. I was able to witness new folks & veterans alike. They were all doing Crossfit, just at different levels. I was introduced to scaling & for awhile that became my best friend. My safety was a #1 priority & I was coached & cheered by the best. My fears evaporated within a week as I came to know the athletes at the box. I could walk in and instantly feel nervous & excited about the work out of the day. I found myself checking the website every night & morning to see what we would be doing next. That was almost 2 years ago. I've never stuck with something this long. I'm still just as enthusiastic as I was that first week. Is Crossfit hard? Yes. Do you have to be in shape before you come try a workout? No. But believe me, if you can believe in yourself like you deserve. You won't turn back! I give you 1 month before you start drinking the kool-aid, you won't be able to help it! The coaches & athletes here have changed my life.
