SERIOUSLY - does not get better than this. The team of Ed…read moreand JP are as good as it gets. I cannot stress that enough. The team of Ed and JP are solid as hell, dedicated to getting the best sound no matter what it takes, committed to their artists and, beyond compare, know what the hell they're doing. They took a touring band (us), got us focused, and pulled whatever hours (14 hours straight the first night) were needed to get the best sound and takes out of us. They worked with us almost as band members to make us as comfortable as possible while keeping focused on the end result. The result was a recording that I could not be more proud of. They offer a multitude of other services as well - repairs, rehearsals, mixing... Building itself is INCREDIBLE - clean and still feels "real". Just right for rock 'n roll or whatever you need done. Check them out - Cannot recommend enough. cheers!

Rooms currently $30 the first hour, $25 each additional, MUST reserve with full payment of room time on credit/debit unless you are a member, ask about terms, I will. I've played drums here at least five times, the rooms are awesome, clean, the gear rocks, the staff is helpful, getting you what you need when asked. The rooms all have a great vibe, painted nicely, air conditioned, track lighting, and even a showcase room with stage and room for a crowd. Follow the factory smoke stack (think 1/4 Pink Floyd' Animals album cover), Smacktone's door is right at the base. Only complaint is a big flight of stairs to get to the rooms, which as a drummer who bought his 1992 Tama Rockstar DX 7pc kit for a.trial stage run, was literally a drag. But awesome!!!

After two months of mentoring my son in Logic instruction, music production and most importantly…read morehelping him shape, refine and inspire his music compositions, I know without a doubt, we made the right choice working with Wilkis "Ideology " Figuereo and Itec studios. This was after doing much research and interviewing all over the tri-state area. Beside the fact that Mr. Figuereo is certified in every major digital software program, what really makes him so special is the 10 years of alternative education teaching experience he brings to each session. It's his uncanny ability to understand how a particular person "needs" to learn. He approaches every student as a unique individual! This is what makes my son feel comfortable. This is the key. This is what enables him to feel confident and excited about his ideas. I felt compelled to write this review because I see Wilkis helping my son fulfill his passion and purpose. As a father, what more can I ask! Look, if you need to learn a piece of musical software or your aching to produce your musical ideas, in my opinion, you'll be in the great hands with Wilkis "Ideology " Figuereo and Itec studios. I never go out of my way to post negative things about someone's business, but this place went from…read morea respectable set of recording studios, to a place where I could never leave my possessions in good thought. As a musician, my music is my life and legacy, and in the last year, I have seen people's rooms broken into, the CSI was there on two occasions that I can remember, and people's computers, amplifiers, gear, and even rent money has simply vanished into thin air! Funny thing is, the whole building is "under surveillance" but the security is monitored by some guy who seems to never have the footage of people breaking into the rooms. I spoke with one angry individual who had his room broken into and he said there was no footage anywhere of his room being broken into. The door was locked from the inside and (I'm not saying one way or another) but the same guy who "runs security" also has access to every camera and keys to the place. I don't know who the building owners are but I've also heard the businesses on the floor below are constantly complaining about the smell of pot emanating from some of the rooms. As you can imagine, the quality of people are less than desirable and a few weeks ago, I packed up and moved out without a word. I had been a renter there for two years and within the last year, I had decided that I was not willing to put my things at risk, watching others' possessions being snatched up without a trace. In short, there are plenty of other places you can be sure to have your things safe if you want a good rehearsal room. I would advise not trusting anyone in that building if you are in fact there. Keep your door locked, have your own camera system inside the room, and watch out for the "security" guy. He's always yelling at someone on the phone about money or needing a job; my guess is he lives there. Hope this helps all the musicians in the area keep their gear safe. Best of luck to you all.
