Jolie and the front desk will get to know you and it generally there to ensure you have a great day. She works out and will come say hi to you on the floor. I told her as a joke, to tell me to push harder when she sees me on the floor. Well she did. Nicole the trainer is amazing, I see her watch her clients intently and have them work on muscles they did not know they needed to strengthen. Wajih a new trainer will ask you what you are working today and provide a suggestion. Not a hard sales, but he is genuinely intent on you having a best workout. Pros- dry sauna, wet sauna…read more Indoor land pool Indoor hot tub Relaxing chairs Showers and towels Plenty of treadmills Cons- the con is that while there "looks" to be nice amenities but good luck using them. 1. they're either disgustingly unclean, 2. Areas broken for months never fixed. Continued... -ladies exfoliating in the sauna and in the hot tub so gross! -mold on the floor and walls of the hot tub not cleaned for over a year I finally left villa. -blood by the pool and showers not cleaned up for three days! THREE! What are the cleaners doing? Apparently nothing. Even after I pointed it out. -roughly spoken to by a guy who takes care of the area (I assumed) by the indoor lap pool. I was pregnant and hurting and needed my nightly stretch in the pool which is the main reason I paid to go there and I can't use the hot tub while pregnant. Arrived at the same time as usual. There was another person swimming but the man present didn't like women or I don't know but he told me "it's closed" and didn't give me an explanation. I question and shared how I REALLY need to stretch I'm in pain and it's supposed to be open another 40 minutes on schedule and there is clearly another person swimming in front of us, so how can it be closed? He just yelled at me and still didn't tell me why. I have no idea who or why he was there. Cane other days when pool was support he open and they had signs saying closed" when it was supposed to be open. They don't really have a good amount of machines other than tons of treadmills compared to LA fitness. And as others mentioned they stay broken a long time. But I need to work my back and don't use free weights. The hot sauna was broken for MONTHS! And was so unclean inside. I couldn't believe I had been sitting in there. But I'm sure it was due to the lady exfoliating herself and no one cleaning it! It makes me want to vomit thinking of it. I wanted a water yoga class but they didn't have evening classes for me. Only during the day when I couldn't go. For a large expensive place it makes no sense they could not hire for evening classes. Kids area-while I don't trust anyone to watch my kids personally, my best friend had a terrible experience there. Other kids would bully her kids and staff didn't seem to care. She could only take her kids a set limited time during the day so too bad if you can't make that block of time despite the fact you pay twice as much to bring kids you can literally only go when they say you can because pools and splash pads for kids aren't open or are closed constantly. The last straw was her son was arguing with his sibling as siblings do, but it was handled terribly. Instead of going to get her if there was indeed a problem , the staff dragged him down the hallway and when he thought he was out of sight, she saw him throw him on the ground. She happened to have come down for pick up at the time and was following them wondering why he had her son down a secluded hallway alone, He didn't apologize or anything. Terrible way of handling a child.

I had reserved a court to practice alone with my ball machine, positioned so it would not bother anyone. A staff member named Keith came over and, instead of calmly explaining any concern, shouted at me from across the courts and threatened to kick me out if I did not move it within ten seconds, even though I have brought this same equipment in before with no issue and was not aware of any policy against it. There was no attempt to explain things professionally, just ultimatums. I filed a formal complaint with management, but I think other members should know this happened, since I do not think this reflects how staff should treat paying customers.

I was waiting for a machine and had already waited through two rounds of people. When I went to sit down, a trainer named Benjamin literally put his hands up in my face and motioned for me to move. He wasn't even using the machine--he was training a client nearby and apparently wanted it for his client. He did this right in front of the person he was training, which was incredibly embarrassing and humiliating. I was so shocked in the moment that I got up rather than cause a scene. Afterward, I emailed management and then went to the front desk and canceled my membership. I explained what happened to the manager, Andrea, and was shocked by how little concern she seemed to have for the situation. I had prepaid for a year and still had six months remaining, so I asked for a refund of the unused portion. I was told no. Andrea said she would speak with her managers and Benjamin. Two days later, she finally contacted me and said there was nothing they could--or would--do. After being a loyal paying customer for years, this was an incredibly disappointing way to be treated. Trainers do not own the equipment, and wearing a Crunch shirt does not give them the right to "shoo" paying members away from machines they are waiting to use. The way I was treated by the trainer was bad enough. The complete lack of concern from management made it even worse.

This is the first time I've ever written a review for a gym but this facility is too good to not…read moregive it the recognition it deserves! Rise Gym has a commercial gym side, a powerlifting side, and a strongman side. In the commercial gym, there is an upstairs and a downstairs section. There's already plenty of treadmills and cardio machines downstairs but there's even more in the upstairs area as well as a section for kids to play in. Not to mention, there is a supplement store where you can shop for protein, preworkout, vitamins, healthy snakcs, etc. so I thought that was pretty neat! As a powerlifter, Rise Barbell is hands down, the best place to work out. The powerlifting side just opened this summer and I cannot thank the owner Dr. Sean for providing such an amazing facility for me to train at before I competed at Raw Nationals this year. There are plenty of brand new TSS combo racks and barbells as well as new Rogue Kilo/pound plates. There's also many deadlift platforms as well as one olympic weightlifting section. Aside from that, there is a long strip of turf that separates the powerlifting section from the machines for body builders. Speaking of body builders, there is a posing room so that's another big plus! Inside this building, there is also a Physical Therapy section run by Dr. Sean. Oh yeah, did I mention there's AC too? I've visited numerous powerlifting gyms in the Houston area but none of them had AC so I appreciate how I'm not drenched in sweat just from walking into a gym. Aside from the amazing facility, the staff and trainers here are incredibly kind. I appreciate how they helped host/run fun events for members to participate in! Overall, the amount of hard work and passion that the owners and workers put into this gym speaks volumes. Honestly, I could go on and on as to why this is the best gym I've ever visited but I hope everyone gets to experience working out at Rise Barbell.
