These days Stray is unfortunately more famous for the fact that revellers paid £25 for tickets to see Pixie Lott and the little strumpet never showed up! Dearie me. Well, that's not the venue's fault is it. Let's focus on the positives, and the fact that Stray's name is a portmanteau of Straight and Gay, meaning that despite its location in the Gay Quarter it extends its welcome to absolutely everyone.
Perhaps you want somewhere with a little more diversity, or perhaps you've had enough of the elitist nature of some gay bars. Stray is the solution, and having opened towards the end of 2009 it's very much a young fresh place. The crowd it attracts are young and metrosexual, and the pop art wallpaper is great fun for retro buffs like myself. While the clientele may be mixed the entertainment is certainly that of the scene, with world-renowned drag queens and entertainers offering merriment alongside some tastily mixed cocktails.
