The drinks may not be cheap in G bar but you get the feeling that these prices help to pay for all the other careful preparation which goes into the set up of the place. From decoration to Djs it is clear that the people behind G bar put alot of time money and effort into what they do and all of this enhances your night out. My only qualms with G bar would be the music which is far too dance orientated for my taste and can be a bit repetitive, however this is just me being picky. On the whole good club and a good night out whenever I have visited.

It is open 5 nights a week and just like Garlands, Gbar welcomes all types of people, although it is advertised as gay friendly, it is very popular with straight people alike. G-Bar plays host to some of the city's best DJ's and without doubt it has become one of the best afterhours club in Liverpool. I was unceremoniously thrown out by the neck by a bouncer for politely asking a woman to sit up off my jacket so that i could remove it from her seat after someone had moved it without my permission..... i cannot stress how politely i asked this simple request. First of all I am the most passive and non aggressive man imaginable, i couldn't hurt another human being if that person was assaulting me and that is a fact. Yet as the bouncers saw 2 men and a women violently shoving and spitting insults in the face of a man holding up both hands, in a universal sign of non aggression, they proceeded to roughly grab that obviously innocent and unhostile man by the neck and chuck him out onto the street without even bothering to find out what the issue was. The bouncers actually left the obviously violent patrons in the bar to carry on drinking and snorting to their heart's content, with his property still in their possession. If they had simply taken a second to ask 1 god damn question before acting rashly and heavy handedly, the issue could have been resolved peacefully or atleast correctly. But the staff at this club simply do not care, and the patrons.... are the worst! patrons i have ever seen for an establishment. Do yourself a favour and avoid this bar at all costs, for your own safety if nothing else. After contacting the clubs social media pages and informing them of the incident they refused to even respond let alone apologise for the bouncers rash actions. When i messaged again the next day, they blocked me!..... This business is a joke and needs looking into.

But it isn't. I don't know if I'm slowly rolling into being nocturnal but when the other clubs shut at four in the goddamn morning, it still seems too early. Maybe I'm just broken. And so we head off to Heaven to continue the merriment for another two hours, merriment that dies an acidic death the moment I walk in and realise with a heavy heart that I'm here again. Over the pounding, cyclical music you can just about shout the bar staff for a drink, which you can consume as you push the time to the shadowiest recesses of your brain and point out oddballs. I once saw a middle-aged man with Eric Morecambe glasses, a Stalin moustache and the kind of frock Desperate Dan would consider a brilliant disguise leaning against the bar, looking at nobody and drinking alone. I reckon he was comforted by the lack of aggro but he looked so forlorn at the godawful hour he'd had to stay up till to get it he probably wondered if it was even worthwhile. Review-wise, giving Heaven one star would just be cruel because after all is said and done, it's my own damn fault I don't enjoy it. It would be like running into a brick wall then complaining it's too hard. In these summer months, by the time 6am rolls around the sun is already high enough in the sky to make it bona fide daylight. Known locally as 'The Mazzie' just in case you get confused looks when discussing the Masquerade with groups of Liverpudlians, it's centrally located and there's a great community vibe to the place. It's owned by a couple who live in the area and know Liverpool like the back of their hands. It's definitely the sort of place to come if you like a down-to-earth bar and plenty of chatty banter.

I've heard that people travel from all over the country to come here. They often have big nights on at the weekend, which attract the tourists, and a Thursday will often be students, however most of the week is pretty "gay". The club has three different bars in all each offering something different for everyone. It's perhaps the most upmarket one of the lot with a lounge area alongside the dancefloor where you can chill with a very high class cocktail, and as a result it does attract a more discerning type of clientele. That's why everybody loves the Lisbon - it's a little bit different. There's a disco area so there's plenty of room for a boogie, which people do like to do from fairly early on in the evening. Tasty pub grub is served during the day and the pool table gets used regularly at this time too, although they do tend to cover it when the place gets rammed. You don't want fights breaking out over a good game of pool now, do you? Not that there'd be fights here. Everyone's very happy and content, and I'd definitely recommend the warm welcome the Lisbon offers.

This really covers the bottle of Grey Goose. The new owner has taken majority of the seating and changed them into booth that are costly. Trying to make it an uptown super club. The club is to small and people who go don't want to spend money like that so when club is packed they all end up sitting on steps by booth, which sooner or later will be a fire, safety risk. Within the space of half an hour Navy had £140 off me. I was rudely challenged by one young girl behind the bar so I complained. As a paying customer I shouldn't have to put up with that. The new owner or manager came out and said he would look into the matter. One employee followed my request to fill jug with lemonade. I walked back over to the booth. One security man stood next to booth. I kindly offered him a drink as a friendly gesture. These two thugs have seen me many times before. Distracted by the loud music I lent in towards his left side to speak to him. He aggressively attacked me. He grabbed both my side arms and marched me back through the club and down the stairs whilst. Uncalled for and dangerous. I continuously said I'm not doing anything get off me. Outside of the club he shouted to his other colleagues "she pulled my collar". This was a false accusation. I was then met with abuse by his other college. I informed them that they where an absolute disgrace and should be ashamed of themselves. I was met with "shut up and f**k off". These are the same abusive guards that shake my hand every time they see me. These two men seem to be on a power trip and give the job a bad name. The job entails you to protect the employees and the public. I was not aggressive and did not attack you. I wrote a similar message to the bar on Facebook in regards to my distress and the behavior shown towards myself, but they have removed the comment without a reply. I will no longer support this club and line the pockets of unprofessional scum.

And it's actually one of the Gay Quarter's swankier outlets. It's an essential stop on a crawl at the Quarter, as it's big, bold and loud. You'll get a largely diverse crowd here, from the usual hen parties to young couples, but moreover the clientele are fun and friendly as well as the staff. It's not perhaps the most relaxing place in the world with its pumping house music but if you're merry enough you're bound to have a good time. The prices can be pretty steep, although, so be careful - these days a bit of high class decor means the drink costs can go sky high!

In fact it wasn't until I looked at their Facebook photos and noticed huge fellers in dresses and one dancer wearing naught but silvery hot pants and angel wings that I grew suspicious. They must've been hiding when I went. A big, horrible club of smoke machines, foam parties and house music, Destination is identical to a dozen other clubs in the city, with its maniacally repetitive dance tracks sung by people eager to tell you how they're as serious as cancer when they say rhythm is a dancer or how the DJ should play it all night, all night, all night, all night, all night long.

Open Wednesday through Sunday, Destination has one rule and one rule only - you have to be dressed…read morenicely to enter, and you have to be nice to everyone. Not a bad code to live by really, I try and employ that ethos on a daily basis even if I'm just popping to the supermarket. Except if it's Laundry Day, mind. This is a buzzing gay friendly club that easily charts alongside the usual big hitters in the Quarter. There are some excellent nights for budgeters and students, such as free entry on Thursdays and a quid to get in then a quid per drink on Wednesdays. Friday's much more of a club night with house music and then an after party until 6am - not for the faint-hearted, I warn you! Heck, that becomes 7am on a Saturday... which is then effectively Sunday. You'd have to be very brave to take that on. Some pretty big names have performed here and it does tend to be something of a go-to for pop artists trying to raise their profile in Liverpool and the gay community. The VIP lounge can be hired out, so can booths, but if it's your birthday and you manage to round up no less than ten companions, they'll treat you all to spending £2 or less on drinks all night, which is not to be sniffed at. Well, Destination by name, destination by nature it seems!
