He called AAA and was told he was 5th in line to speak to someone. He waited until he was 2nd in line, and then he was disconnected. AAA never called him back. He called AAA again, and was told he was now 9th in line. He was afraid his phone battery would die while waiting on hold, so he called my elderly mother, who called AAA, waited on hold a long time, and was disconnected. No one called her back. I called AAA, waited on hold for 45 minutes, and was disconnected. I also called again and chose an option to leave a voicemail, which I did. No ever called me back for either of my calls. By this time my elderly father had spent a couple of hours or more sitting on the side of the road, on the side of the mountain in the dark on a bitterly cold night. I tried calling a tow company in the area, but they said I had to go through AAA. Finally we were able to get neighbors to go get my father and bring him home. They had to leave his car by the side of the road on the side of the mountain in the dark. We're lucky it wasn't hit, broken into or stolen. If he hadn't been in a place where there were neighbors to help him, he could have frozen to death, been hit or ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. The reason my parents pay for AAA is to have help in a situation like this, but AAA did nothing but waste hours of our time that night. Since then AAA has refused to say, when asked, what steps they are taking to prevent this kind of problem from happening again.

The service center provides anything but service. Been on hold for 9 minutes - asked to be transferred to my Huntingdon branch and was put on hold again and I hung up after 8 minutes. TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been a member for more than 40 years and this is the worst!

Never received a call so I called them about 5:00 in the evening and was told it would be done by the next morning. However the next am came and went and never heard anything. Again I had to call THEM about 4:30 and was told they were putting it back together and they would call as it was closer to complete. Received a call about 6:45 that it was finished. Thank goodness I had asked what the total was so I could make sure I had enough with me. To my SHOCK the total had almost doubled to $600.00! These people are the exact reason why people DON"T TRUST mechanics. What a horrible way of earning a living by ripping people off. I will NEVER again use a mechanic if I can not sit there the entire time my vehicle is being worked on ! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!! A 1 star rating is even too HIGH

The dead SUV and myself are on the way to Walmart to get a new battery. 11:30 pm Resurrected Nissan and myself are pulling out of the lot of Iceman Towing and on the way home. After a mechanic replaced the alternator and battery terminals, less than a week later, another breakdown. I called Iceman the next morning and he scooped it up and took it back to his shop. Now, although 40 miles away, the communication was as smooth and effective as the couple hours I spent with him just a few days before. I owe him a helluva lot more than he charged me. Class-act, talented and personable guy with the knowledge and problem-solving skills that make him perfect for doing what he does.
