What an amazing time we had watching the fall foliage. We were there on Columbus Day weekend and were able to take part in their celebration. We were able to ride a gondola and see the most amazing fall foliage. The lines were a bit long but the wait was not too bad. In addition we were able to take part I. The brew fest and chili cook off. Both events were great. Lastly we also went to the concert on Sunday which had to great Cover bands ( Elton John and Almost Queen) the festivities were well run, everyone seemed to be having a good time. [ 12/2020 I heard great reviews of this ski mountain so I took the 6 hour car ride to check it out. So glad we did We rented a ski in/our condo and it was so convenient. The condo was stuck in 1980 but the ability to easily access the lifts was great. I took ski lessons which were just eh. I did get some good tips to go down green trails but not sure what class to take next time? There should be a level class or something. We brought our own ski equipment from home so not sure about the rentals. The guys took a snowmobiling tour to the summit at night. They enjoyed it The village was so close and really cute. My favorite mountain!!! I truly love it here!!! Season pass holder of course, I mean with the Ikon pass it's a no brainer now! Access to so many mountains, guest days at sooo many more and of course full unrestricted access to Stratton mountain. Come here and it's truly like being in a snow globe. Perfect groomed trails, restaurants galore, shops, a nice walkable town from any of the close stay locations and soo much more!!! Parking is easy and with so many lots with a free shuttle that comes literally every 15 minutes it's a no brainer to coMe here for stress free boarding. They have gondolas, chair lifts, parks, learner areas I mean there's nothing this beautiful mountain doesn't offer. I just got home and I'm already planning a trip back! read more

Was very upset when I realized Stratton does not use pet friendly salt in the village. I had to carry my dog all the way back to my car.

Awesome visit in the summertime. The condo was clean and nice. The village has great restaurants. The gondola provided an awesome view from the mountain top. read more

I would have given this 5 stars if weren't for the ski & snowboard pickup. We booked online for skis and snowboards, and lift tickets for 6 people. When we got to the pickup center, I went to the counter to pick them up. The people couldn't any of the equipment and tickets except mine. I was told to go to the ski pickup, but the person there told me that there has been a lot of people, and they might not have pulled my equipment out yet. Meanwhile, the rest of my family was filling up information on the computers to get their pink slips, which was going to get them their skis and snowboards. One person who was snowboarding couldn't find the snowboarding rental because it was located in a different building. Otherwise, the rest of Stratton Mountain was great. They have great ski and Snowboard coaches. I went on the the magic carpet, and sometimes it stops. I also went to Easy Street, a green trail. It was fun and not too steep. In fact, some parts of it is flat and icy. This is a great place to ski and snowboard. read more

I use to go there every other winter for a few days but the past 2times I went the staff wasn't really helpful and they were just rude the only lady even went as fair as asking me if I really stay here after asking her for fresh towels and said she is not housekeeping and she is not just allowed to give me towels cause she is not sure I'm I'm a guest I showed her my key card and she still said no I use to like this place but I guess it's time to look for a new mountain read more

Horrible conditions today! All ice. What a waste of $125...$125!!! And for people who come from far away, the snow guarantee is a joke.

The Stratton ski experience was not a memorable one mostly due the ticket window Nazi's and the poor Public Relations we received from these characters. The ski conditions were horrendous about an hour after we got out on the mountain mainly due to rain and fog. You could not see ten in feet in front of yourself. We went to ask for a ticket for anorher day, not a refund, just a ticket for another day, when you could actually see where you were skiing. The Nazi's at the window had no understanding, caring or PR skills to remedy the issue by simply offering us two passes for another day. A place that changes top dollar for a skiing experience should at the very least know how to treat a guest who has paid good money to receive a high quality experience in return. This is simply a reflection of poor management policy period. read more

I'm a western ski snob, so I can't believe I'm writing this. But in a nutshell, except for the absence of western powder snow, Stratton does everything right. The place is well run. The upscale faux village is more than you'd find in other eastern resorts. The ski school experience was exceptional. Our instructor was knowledgable, amusing, patient and insightful and that was the first 10 minutes of the lesson. The mid mountain lodge was perfect for lunch and you could just ski the upper mountain after a break. We had fun at the Grizzlies bar at the end of the day. My only complaint is that the base lodge is small and gets really crowded if you are looking for a table to put your boots on. Otherwise, a great spot. I would return ... read more

I myself am a ski instructor here and have never gotten around to writing about this amazing mountain. From age two I have experienced a chunk of my childhood here at this magical ski resort. My family and I are located about a mile and a half from the mountain. Each season we will do our best and get a good 30-35 days in at Stratton. I work at the ski school seasonly named little cub which is located downstairs in the ski school area. It is such a great experience to be with the kids and I am so impressed with what Stratton has done with the TIPS program. The tips Program is a amazing program that gives people that are young to old a chance to begin working with children. We have a chance to teach kids the ways of skiing, take care of them, feed them, and make sure they have the time of my life. Even though we are paid I will say myself that I have the time of my life. The fact that the mountain itself is able to provide a experience so rich in life lessons and fun dazzles me. I am truly amazed with what Stratton has created, crafted, and improves each year. If I was able to explain what the ski school program is in words I would say it is: a place to leave you children to have fun, learn to ski, have social experiences, and get to be entertained the entire day. I am only 14 but I already know that this program that the ski school has created is one of the best around. Now for the mountain itself. Stratton is decently sized when compared to Bromley. We consist of all terrain and honestly have the perfect mountain for a perfect family experience. With trails ranging from he Magic Carpet which takes you 100ft up the hill to the Gondola which takes us to the tippy top we have it all. I have skied these slopes before I could walk and it is made to teach all the way from the bottom to the top. The glades are perfectly set up and the glades themselves range from blue to black with even some easy greens. The mountain itself provides a rich experience for everyone around it. On certain lucky days we even have hot chocolate and marshmallows out for everyone to enjoy. I will say that Stratton has really changed my life, but not just mine, everyone who comes to it. I have been a part of the seasonal programs starting from when I was 4. I went in little cub seasonal, then to big cub, then to synergy(skipping crossroads) then to allegro then to the TIPS program which makes me the ski instructor I am today. Giving me the rich opportunity to get to know the kids and to give them the opportunity to learn the fundamentals and fun of skiing. During allegro I learned how much fun you could have on moguls. Learning to go down the course and going on the jumps with the freestyle team really gives you and your kids a chance to become a pro skier. I would say the best part of Stratton is bye far the programs that teach kids and adults from any age how to ski. I write this while watching survivor the tv program next to the fire with my brother, mom and the dogs. I really just want to thank everyone that keeps Stratton going and such a wonderful place to be. To sum it all up it is truly a great place to bring your family and friends to enjoy the weekend and rich opportunities that Stratton provides. I know that Stratton has changed my life forever, and will continue too. read more

Pluses: 1) Tons of terrain and different mt. areas. Stratton grew up competing w/Mt Snow and answered Mt Snow's innovations (Snowdance, No Face, Sunbrook, Carinthia) with their own (Meadow, Snow Bowl, Sunbowl, Kidderbrook)... making the terrain varied in that respect, but (see minus #1 below) 2) As others have said, it's a great cruising mt. I'm a skier-turned-snowboarder-turned 40-something, so the wealth of blue-black cruisers is just what I'm looking for. 3) Sun Bowl area and base lodge - nice alternative to the main base area mayhem. Also points for mid-mountain lodge. Too bad it takes two lifts to get to the main summit from here. 4) Express gondola to top. Minuses: 1) lack of true expert terrain, bumps. They've got some moderately steep trails, but they're kinda wide and groomed and lacking in character/memorableness/'magic'. Not much by way of bumps either, and that may be because: 2) clientele seems to be rich families from NY/NJ. If you find yourself trapped on a gondola w/a bunch of NYC-ers talking about the 2008 fiscal crisis and what their advisors predict the next bubble to burst will be - don't say I didn't warn ya. Yeah yeah yeah.. 17-1... how about you go ski Gore. 3) very much a bedroom community. Not a New England ski town. read more

Had a great time here. My only knock is the prices of the lift tickets and the lack of beginner trails. My wife is just learning the sport so it really limits you on where you can go. However that being said, the instructors at the ski school were great. They were knowledgeable and encouraging. The trails were well groomed. People were friendly and service was quick. read more

very friendly folks...snow was gfood and groomed well...the village is always nice...but went into the pizza shop they manage...too many people with little kids in the bar...and food was poor at best...still one of the better cruising mountains...almost hard to find mogules and with knees that are getting old...it's OK. read more
