Not only did Albert come back early from his lunch when he saw us heading towards the door, he also took the time to try all the cases he had till he found one that fit and to top it all off, even in a pandemic, he actually let us have the case for free!!!! This is a pawn shop that is very near to my office so one lunch break I decide to pass the time and…read morego there. I had to go downstairs and into a long corridor, both the entry way and the hallway was caked with footprints and mud and at the end of my journey I found a tiny little area with a windowed counter. I asked if I could see their merchandise and they guy behind the window looked very sketchy, I had to do a double take inside my head and ask myself did I really want to do this? He led me into a small room with bad shelving and an assortment of very old used articles, mostly relics of printers and copies of VHS movies. I feigned my enthusiasm and asked about prices, I certainly didn't want to insult him. So I politely said thank you and practically ran out the store. Do not go here folks, it's just plain scary.

Although the store is extremely well laid out and super clean, I found tons of stuff to be overpriced and in not so good condition. I think a person would find better deals on Kijiji and Craigslist and items that are in much better condition. The folks there are extremely friendly however and there were a lots of people browsing through the store or perhaps waiting to pawn things. I was in the area having lunch when I came across Junk in the Trunk, thrift store in Ogden. I…read morealways love walking into thrift stores and seeing what people have discarded, only to be rediscovered by someone else. As soon as you walk in you realize this isn't your average thrift store. The store is well laid out, organized and has that fantastic smell of used gear (but in a good way); it all brings back good memories of the past. They have a good assortment of records (yes vinyl is making a comeback). And they are dirt cheap; mostly costing less than a buck! I picked up two records and it cost me a toonie. How great is that!! The store shelves are organized in a great way, great friendly and inviting owners, wonderful jazz music was playing in the background, housewares, books, clothing, toys, electronics and even furniture were available to snap up. Be careful, walk into Junk in the Trunk and you'll be walking into a time-warp that you may not want to leave.
