What a cute little novelty shop! They've got tons of unique items that are perfect if you're in the mood to browse or pick up a fun gift. If you're in the area, definitely pop in.... it's worth a look. The store was super clean with a welcoming vibe. The employee working was really nice and helpful without being pushy, which I always appreciate. Such a fun gift shop! I visited on a whim, looking for some jellycats. I should've known that they sell out fast, so of course they didn't have any in stock when I came in. The owner was very nice and informed me on the next time they were restocking with the Halloween editions. Nonetheless, this shop had the coolest items. Of course, I wasn't leaving without grabbing some pictures of my king and queen on these candles. Recommending to anyone who's either a local or visiting Sacramento for the first time. Okay super adorable store first of all! I loved everything in it! My friend originally took me to get birthday cards for a mutual friend. I ended up with 6 cards, a pair of sunglasses, and a mini crochet kit!? So cute. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for gifts for anyone really. How in the world have I not reviewed the Broadway Strapping location yet? My wife and I just made our annual pilgrimage for holiday shopping and white elephant (work) gifts and the store didn't disappoint!! We always find something quirky. Of course, Strapping offers very nice gifts. Candles. Pillows. Plush and pretty.... But I feel like the main reason everyone shops here is a toss up.... Is it for the witty, gag gifts?? Susan is amazing and runs a great business. My son and I stopped in yesterday to buy some gifts and enjoyed not only shopping but the friendly conversation. Both Susan and Darcy work extremely hard to run a small business and give 110% back to the local community. I stopped by Sunday morning 10/26 and I was early, walked down to the plant foundry store, eventually making my way back to the gift store. I got there 2 mins early prior to open, waited, it was 1001, still nothing. Their dog was by the door barking, so it was evident they were there or someone and nobody was opening. I don't care if you're a small business, be mindful of your own operational hours period. I left because I had already been waiting to support their store and they want to make customers wait longer, no thanks! Lots of things to see here but the main highlight is the large variety of California/Sacramento-centric knick-knacks that actually don't look dated at all. Made me feel like a happy tourist here and I live only like 15 minutes away! Lol. With it currently being December there are seasonal items, some sticking with the local-area theme. Let me just start off by saying, this place is one of my all time favorite stores to shop at. This is my go to for any type of gift that I need for birthdays or holidays. Their selection here is so amazing and not to toot my own horn, but I've gotten so many people on the Strapping band wagon (it's pretty dang easy because the stores are so great). Their products and variety is too awesome to not want to shop here. ~ During the pandemic, I worked next door to their Broadway location and would go shop after I was off. They were always the sweetest people and we would have such great conversations. They even would give us (the neighbor employees) a discount on our purchases. Ever since then, I've been hooked lol. Recently, my wife and I were out at Target when I see a familiar face walk up and tell me that I have a beautiful baby. I immediately recognized them as the owners of Strapping and was so excited to let them know how much we absolutely love their stores and showed that my son was using a pacifier clip (shown in picture) we had bought from there, which they had recognized as well! It's truly amazing how much effort they put into their community. They did not have to go out of their way to come up and talk to us. They also did not have to give us a discount on our purchases just for being a neighboring business during a pandemic (which, let's be real- was really hard on small businesses). Their products are of great quality and not to mention they have a ton of LGBTQIA+ merchandise!
