Have been here a few times for coffee, which is absolutely fantastic! Always perfectly made and…read morequick to come out. They also have a menu for food, as well as various cakes, slices etc. in the fridge available. I came here the other day to try some breakfast options for the first time with my partner. I ordered the mushroom ragout with toast (with extra tomatoes on the side) and my partner had the mushroom, asparagus, haloumi and poached eggs. The portions were well sized and appropriate for the price. The mushroom ragout was absolutely delicious. Super creamy and a great variety of mushrooms. I honestly cannot wait to go back and have it again. My partner's dish was also great with a decent sized serving of haloumi, which is rare to see at most places. The only criticism was that the haloumi was a bit overcooked, which made it rubbery... and the poached eggs were hard inside and not at all runny, which sort of ruined it for him as the rest of the ingredients were a bit dry on their own and really needed that runny egg yolk to bring it all together! Regardless, we will definitely be returning. Great selection of food (particularly for vegetarians) compared to the standard coffee, toast and eggs you get at most of the other cafes. EDIT: Came back a second time and whilst the haloumi was a bit rubbery and too salty still, the eggs were perfect and it made a HUGE difference.

This is now my go-to lunch time cafe. It is tucked away under escalators so you're out of the noise…read moreof Marion and the set-up is very intimate. The menu is adequate but the coffee is insanely good. Extra points for the top-shelf music e.g. Boy & Bear, Dan Sultan, The National, etc. This place is a cut above anything else in the centre.

Plenty of seating in this restaurant inside a shopping centre! I mean this place is huge. I can't…read moreimagine what's it must be like when it's full. I thought the food was good - we had a cajun chicken pizza, which was big enough for two to share, and it was great. I also had a slice of cake and a coffee and they were both good too. The kitchen is somewhat open and we watched them making their own pizza dough. The prices were ok. The bill came to $36 for the things I mentioned above. I like that they're open late, even after the rest of the shopping centre is closed (to match the schedule of the movie theater, I assume?). Everything else around here closes so early, so that's a real plus. The service was great, everybody really friendly and helpful. We ordered at the counter and then they brought the food to us. No sense of frustration from the clearly over-worked waitress (there appeared to be only one for the whole restaurant that day!). They're also very kid-friendly, with lots of high-chairs and a kids area with little chairs and tables. In this kids area there's a huge blackboard wall and buckets of coloured chalk. There's a big outdoor area but it gets smokey because the bar next door allows smoking on their patio. This isn't Spargo's fault, it's the SA government's fault for its retrograde smoking legislation. But unfortunately it means that this patio isn't as enjoyable as it could be.

Extremely over priced average food. This place used to be a lively bustling restaurant. We went…read moreFriday night and it was DEAD! Service quite rude and non existent. Pasta carbonara was bland and so very average. Snitty was tiny and lacking any chicken at all. Chips (well the 18 odd that I actually got served) were over cooked and no seasoning. Salad tasted terrible, like it had been tipped onto a plate and not washed. Entree garlic bread came out and one main meal at the exact same time then waited 10 mins for my main mean to arrive. All in all a terrible waste of $100!! The 1 star is for the tasty cheesey garlic bread.

The coffee is smooth and delicious, and Bonsoy is used (as well as lactose free milk, and regular milks). Lactose free hot chocolate is one of my favourites to have, although they have a regular hot choccie as well. Decor is hipster, but friendly hipster. Completely vegetarian with some good vegan offerings, be amazed at the degree of soy replacement in your sandwiches with the magic soy bean pretending to be bacon, pancetta and other types of piggies. The ciabattas and wraps on offer are mouthwatering and well worth a proper peruse. Personally I loved their salads on offer, the dressings are top notch and the flavours are creative to deliver something which is filling and tasty and yet not a poached chook in sight. Coffee is top quality, lattes smooth and creamy, just as they should be. The Annex also acts as a live space, the piano smooshed in the corner does cop a beating occasionally and the cafe holds court as a live music venue on special nights.
