I'll start off by saying dr strankman is a top notch dentist. He genuinely wants to help patients without trying to gouge them for money. He took care of my mom with a same day filling after she was told she'd need a crown elsewhere. He said he'd rather not remove too much tooth structure if he didn't need to, which is rare for dentists in my experience.
For this next part its important to know I've been working in dental for the better part of a decade.
I was told I could not go into the back with my mom for her exam, which the front office stated was due to "OSHA" reasons. I complied simply because it's their house rule, and 'm not gunna make a fuss, My office has rules too.
However the part that annoyed me was I was able to identify 4 separate OSHA violations just by sitting in the waiting room, the worst being a dental assistant who opened the waiting door for a patient to leave while still wearing her gloves and mask and no lab coat. That tells me she worked on a patient without a coat, and now that door handle is contaminated by gloves that were very like in a patients mouth.
I won't go into more details because it's not my place, but it's frustrating when they pick and choose which OSHA rules to follow.
TL:DR if OSHA is truly important to you, follow all the rules, not just the ones that are convenient to you. read more
