We were told we could bring him in as soon as we were ready. When we arrived and were greeted at the door by Jo-Lynne who immediately gave us hugs and compassion. The way we were treated was amazing in the time when we needed compassion, caring, and empathy. She is truly where she is meant to be as an angel for those experiencing such grief and sadness. She told us that she would put him first on the list and she called us hours later to pick up his ashes and made paw prints for us and one for our daughter. We know we left our dog in the best possible hands he could have been in. Thank you so very much for your love and comfort during this difficult time for us. You truly are amazing.

At first we decided with the cremation process, days later decided to have a burial instead. Loosing someone is already tough as it is and planning a funeral is hard when we're grieving in the process. The "Flowers by Mateo" were absolutely beautiful. Everyone was amazed with them! Every detail of the service was just how we wanted. Matthew made suggestions, answered any questions we had, and addressed any concerns. The funeral home was very clean, elegant and spacious. I cannot thank Matthew enough for everything he did. This funeral home is definitely the best in the area, highly recommend it.

He accommodated all of our requests and treated our family with dignity and respect throughout the entire process. In such a difficult time, he truly made things easier for us. Ringa has been a longtime neighbor to our family in Long Lake, but I have no doubt they provide the same level of care and professionalism to every family they serve. Highly recommend without hesitation.

There are so many moving pieces and details that need to be coordinated in a very short amount of time and Andrew handled everything with exceptional class and care. He was also a few steps ahead of us at all times, anticipating our needs. When the pastor did not come to the cemetery with us, and we were left without a final reading before laying our loved one to rest, Andrew stepped in seamlessly. He had already chosen a reading based on a meeting he had with our loved one before she passed. His choice was perfect and deeply meaningful. Additionally, her hair and makeup were done in a very natural way that captured her essence, bringing comfort to our family. Ringa went way above and beyond by accommodating our loved one's last wishes and it made the farewell special and memorable for our family. It was truly a privilege working with Andrew and his Team.

Cathy is the owner and Carol is her right hand woman/manager. Like alot of us, we're not prepared for the end of our life or our loved ones. You might feel lost, confused and even befuddled. Cathy and Carol will 100% guide you properly and patiently. Saying "goodbye" to a loved one who's passed, is one of the hardest things humans have to go thru. Im still healing from the loss of my grandfather. It's been almost a year since l've been here and this is a long overdue review. One of the downfalls of loving someone so much is when they leave us, it's so much more painful and heartbreaking. Grief is love with nowhere to go. Drowning is an art of learning how to survive, be it in water or emotions. Northern Illinois Funeral Services helps you start the healing process. That's extremely invaluable for me. They say you get what you pay for, but here, they go above and beyond what's expected. Grateful for the two earth angels at Northern Illinois Funeral Service

It always seems strange to review a business that I definitely do not want to be customer of, but…read morefeel the need to say something about them. A close friend of me and The Doctor's had his dad's memorial here. Marsh Funeral Home itself looks more like a home or restaurant than a place to honor your loved ones passing. Not sure why, but guessing it was due to seeing the gazebo and the fact that is a wood frame building. There is a nice sized parking lot and what looked to be accessible street parking. On initial glance the overall appearance was one of decent looking, clean facility. We got there 30 minutes before the service and saw a separate room set up with food, drinks and coffee for the attendees. The Doctor and I stopped in to get a drink of water and to hang out, but we were unaware that the start time had been moved up 30 minutes. A gentleman with the home saw us in the room and kindly let us know that the service was starting. He was also the initial speaker, calling folks up to speak about our friend's dad. The room was set up nicely, but I will say this is the first time I have seen standing party table in a room. Because the family is Irish Catholic, my first thought was adult beverages were being serve...HAHAHAHAHA! But no, they were not. Guess they had the tables for people to stand around as there was no food or drink allowed in the room. The room was pretty big, guessing it could seat 200 without the tables being in there. The video montage was nice but wasn't sure if that was something the home did or the family, but it looked good all the same. There was a nice speaker and PA system in the room, although some folks did not use the mic, but we could still here them. Marsh also allows you to bring in your own AV equipment. There was a small monitor in the room set up for refreshments with a video on it. I assumed that it was theirs, but after the service, one of the family members came and disconnected it and took it to his car. The bathroom was old, but very clean. That gave away the age of the place, but it looked like was maintained, just needs to be update a bit. Not completely sure what the gazebo is used for, maybe events happen there when the weather is nice.
