This is my haircut! Vicky didn't cut off big lenghts of hair! She cut off split ends and damaged hair! added volume and texture!

I walked in without an appointment and luckily someone had cancelled there appointment so i got a slot for a haircut. I hadn't cut my hair in over a year and needed to cut all the damaged hair and split ends. Vicky did a great job! She was very friendly and knew exactly what i wanted! She started off by washing my hair, she then cut long layers and gave me some nice, long bangs to frame my face. My hair is very thin and i dont have much. She gave my hair volume and texture! She finished off by blow drying it and styling it with a curling iron. I loved it! Definitely coming back!

This is what you get when you pay $45, what a ripoff! I Do not recommend this place.

It was prom night for my daughter, my daughters regular hairstylist was unavailable due to a family emergency. This place was last minute. We got here and we asked the hairstylist for a specific hair do. She said no problem. I had to leave briefly to pick up my son from school and when I came back(about 15 minutes) she was done. She explained that the hairstyle we asked for was not possible so she had to improvise. All she did was curly my daughters hair, something we could have done at home. Total cost $45, ridiculous! I will never come back here again and I do not recommend this place. Simple hair style and way over priced.

We had the pleasure of Bree giving my 5 year old daughter her first haircut! My daughter felt like a princess the whole time. Bree really helped her feel so comfortable and asked her exactly what she wanted. She also made sure to run things by me before cutting or even putting any products in her hair. She saved my daughter's cut hair for me as a keepsake. We talked about my daughter's hair texture and proper ways to maintain it since I have a different hair type. My daughter keeps asking when she can go back to the hair salon. Strands on Beverly is so clean. We were so happy with Bree and our service there and we highly recommend them! read more

I come here to get my brows done by Darius. He's just the best. My brows had been all over the place since COVID but I'm happy to say that they're back on track. He knows how to thread your brows so they complement your face. It's not just about cleaning them up, but shaping them beautifully. I know it sounds impossible, but he's the only person who touches my brows, me included. I look forward to my appointment every 2 weeks. Super friendly and prompt. Wouldn't go to anyone else. read more

I have been going to Darius for 8 years now because he is AMAZING! I have followed him through 4 different locations. I am glad he settled here! I've done my eyebrows at other places before and they always left bald patches or thin eyebrows. He is the fastest, most painless, and accurate eyebrow threader around. My skin is sensitive so I used to have a tendency to hide my redness for a day after threading, but with Darius, I don't have to. He is very skilled and doesn't irritate my skin when he threads. I am picture ready to go anywhere right after! If your eyebrows are messed up from prior bad jobs, he does a long term plan on how to eventually shape them to the style you like. Don't risk going to other places. Do yourself a favor and go to Darius. He is always consistent and dependable. Highly recommend! read more

The eyebrow guru at Strands on Beverly!!! My brow threading artist, Darius, has recently relocated to Strands on Beverly blvd. and although I do have to commute a bit longer to get to him, it continues to be so worth it. Plus, Strands is always happening. There hasn't been a time where that place is empty or there isn't laughter. I guess it's just a vibe. When I first met Darius 8 months ago, my eyebrows were hardly visible. My past experiences had always been something like, "Well, hunny! That's all I can do with the eyebrows you have" or "Sorry! You have no hair growth, that's why your eyebrows length is too short. Just fill them in" ...But not Darius! I had never met a brow artist that can look at your eyebrows and tell you what kind of abuse your eyebrows have been through, whether your pluck, wax, or shave them. He's like protective services for eyebrows. He is the only brow stylist that has taken the time to to explain my eyebrows to me and why my eyebrows grow the way they do, and what to do about them. I swear he's a botanical chemist in the making. He has created a natural, reasonably priced hair and brow serum that stimulate hair growth. I own the eye brow serum, and it's doing wonders. My eyebrows are as full as they have never been! There are times where I can actually choose to not fill them in and feel just as confident. If you want a brow threading artist that has no cookie-cutter type of approach when it comes to his clients', you should visit the eyebrow guru at Strands on Bravely. read more

Highly recommended! Great customer service. Had a hair wash, trim and style. Brianna did an excellent job at making me feel pampered and did a great job on my hair. I walked out feeling like a million bucks. Book in advance if you can. I believe stylist will be in by demand so booking ahead will eliminate a wait time. I'll definitely be back. read more

I called to book an appointment to get my eyebrows done, since I haven't got them done in a long time. They were all bushy and out of shape. I was able to connect with a gentleman named Darius. I'm proud to say he did an amazing job! Cleaned them up and shaped them up very well. I love it thank you! I love the environment at the salon as well, it was very welcoming and relaxing. I came to strands specifically for Darius! He used to thread my eyebrows before the covid shutdown, and I am so glad I found him again! I was scrolling through old pictures of myself, and realized very quickly that my eyebrows, were the best they have ever been when Darius threaded them! He is extremely knowledgeable and does what's meant for your brow shape, for your eye shape etc . Since I knew I could trust him and he does great work, I tracked him down and I brought my 12 year old daughter to get her first session done. He did such a good job, made her feel comfortable and explained everything to her step by step. Which I very much appreciated!!!! Her eyebrows look so good that I can't stop staring at them lol. Luckily Darius can work with anything and will get me back on track! If you are looking to try someone new then Darius is definitely your person! read more

After searching on Yelp for a few days I decided to give Strands on Beverly a shot, and I was definitely not disappointed! I am aware that Strands operates by appointment only but I was so eager to get a hair cut this Saturday that I decided to call in to see if they could accommodate me. Vicky answered the call and gave me an appointment same day! She was super friendly and professional. When I arrived I was greeted by Vicky who fortunately turned out to be my hair stylist that day. I told her exactly what I wanted and she gave me her professional opinion which I appreciated! After she cut and styled my hair , I knew this wouldn't be the last time I'd be coming in for a hair cut. I definitely recommend this salon, I'm sure the other stylists are just as great!! read more

I can not say enough how amazing my color specialist is. David, thank you for giving me life again! I had been going to the same color specialist for 16 years, and due to unforeseen circumstances I had to look up someone to do my hair because she was not available. I went through Yelp, and read the reviews for this salon. I made an appointment with David Perez, and I could not be more happy!!! David, thank you. What an amazing salon! I moved here from Miami and had the hardest time finding a new stylist for my hair, I'm very picky. Well, someone referred me to David Perez at Strands on Beverly. I just called to try and get an appointment for a haircut and everyone I spoke to had terrible attitude. I can only imagine what it would be like to actually get a haircut at this location. At first I could not understand a word the gentleman was saying because it sounded muffled, he gave me attitude when I kept asking what he said. I genuinely couldn't hear what he was saying, maybe my cell service was not all that great? Coincidentally, I heard him crystal clear when he decided to give me attitude and put me on hold to "check availability" and the 2nd person who answered was also rude. Came here today (07/08/19) to get a haircut, along with my mom who came for highlights.Not yo mentions we were walk in clients and we're still treated rapidly and welcomed. All the workers are so vivid, likable, & kind. Very great and welcoming environment & the small talk with whoever assists you makes it that much better. One word.. AMAZING! My hair was a mess before I came into Strands on Beverly. I was referred to David Perez and all I can say is that he can definitely do some magic to your hair! I was afraid that no one was going to be able to fix another stylist mess, but David did! He came to the rescue! He gave me a nice ombré along with a nice style and cut! Pro's: they definitely know what they're doing! I like that they think about what's best for your hair instead of just taking the money. I originally wanted to get an ombré in a very light shade. Instead of frying my hair they guided me into doing it gradually once I grow the box dye color out. They even did a test and put bleach in a thin chunk of my hair to see how fast it could lighten but it didn't. I had also asked for a textured cut like an inspo photo I showed, and they did an amazing job! I definitely see why they have great reviews. Con's: I took away one star only because each time I've come here with a 10 am appointment which is the first of the day they're already busy. They end up taking way too many clients at the same time so it really makes your appointment go by even slower. The last time I went just for a root touch up I was there from 10 am - 3 pm. They were going between clients so much that it was becoming frustrating just sitting there waiting to get your hair washed for almost one hour. I also took away one star because I feel like paying over a hundred dollars for shoulder length hair root touch up that took 5 hours is a lot. They also don't speak English very fluently so unless you speak their dialect language is definitely a barrier here. It's by appointment only. Would I come back? Tldr: Don't get your hair done by TONY…read more I got my digital perm done about a week ago have been debating whether or not to write a review. However, this whole appointment and the end result was too unpleasant for me to ignore. Tony was the one who did my perm and Tony was unprofessional. Please avoid having Tony do your hair. To start, Tony showed up to the appointment 15 minutes late (and his coworker was telling him his 11 o'clock was there) and then seemed very disinterested in trying to get the service started. Then, after briefly glancing at my reference photo and finding his own- Tony told me that my hair needed to go shorter and proceeded to give the most careless haircut ever. Total hack job. During the perm, Tony rolled each hair extremely tight that he even had to pause to massage his hands. The overly tight rolls bruised my scalp and Tony was so careless with placing the spacers between the rollers and scalp that I actually was tearing up because the pain was so unbearable. And even though I mentioned that it hurt Tony lowkey just ignored it?? To top it off- Tony ran out of rollers HALFWAY throughout the process so I had to wait with the crazy tight rollers for around 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). And Tony's not the one that informed me about it- Tony's nice coworkers were the ones that continued to check in and keep me updated. Also, the whole salon had 3 digital perms going on (including mine) and they kept grabbing the rollers coming off from another client and directly using it on my hair. I don't know if that's normal but I thought every tool was supposed to be disinfected prior to using it on another client. If the digital perm turned out the way I wanted- I would not be so upset but the curls were MUCH MUCH tighter than I asked for. But mostly the experience sucked. And it sucks because I had come here previously for a regular perm and had such a great experience that I trusted the salon for another appointment. I will not be visiting this salon again. (And clearly I am very upset towards TONY for messing up my hair and being totally incompetent throughout the whole appointment. Also, maybe you wouldn't lose YOUR VAPE IN THE BIN OF DIGITAL HAIR ROLLERS if you weren't too busy vaping while doing your client's hair.)

And mind you, this is before Lunar New Year, when most people would get their haircut! My day started right at opening time (10am) with a haircut. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he just went with it. I will say this honestly: I've never liked my haircut this much. Why did it take me 40 years??? Anyway, we then had my hair washed and started with the first round of bleach around 11am, and then touch up. By 1pm, I decided to eat my lunch. I came prepared this time! Quick story: 9 years ago, I had no idea this type of hair procedure would take all day, and therefore did not bring lunch. Ken and Kristie fed me lunch! They are the best people, I swear. Anyway, after a rinse, we did another round of bleach with touch ups. I made it more difficult for Ken because I had dyed my hair a darker shade to cover my greys. I'm so sorry Ken! By 4pm it was no COLORING TIME! Ken started with the purple roots, then added the silver to the rest, with rounds of touching up. 5:30pm is when we did our last round of wash, then blow dry and a bit of styling. After a quick photo session, I was out by 6pm! I really appreciate them both for making this work, especially when I took up an entire day. Ken and Kristie are the best, and I will travel back to LA the next time I'd like my hair done again. Thank you SO much again Ken and Kristie!

For years I have struggled to find a hairdresser that executes exceptional work in both hair color and style. David Perez does remarkable work! He is one of a kind! And really takes the time to listen to you about what you want/don't want done with your hair and I feel that is an extremely important attribute. She caused knots to form, which she repeatedly tugged at to remove, creating even more unnecessary tension and potential breakage. She never even used a detangler or leave in. No heat protectant was applied before blow-drying. I also noticed the assistant repeatedly blow drying the same section of my front bangs 7-8 times. That was excessive, especially since the hair around my hairline is thin, delicate, and was already dry at that point. There is no attention to detail, no consideration to the health of the hair. I left concerned about the amount of stress and potential damage done to my hair as well as a patchy dye job. Lee and her staff need better training and education on proper hair handling techniques.
