They are a very caring facility and were able to fit us in last minute on a Saturday without much trouble. What was really excellent was Dr. Whalen gave me 2 prescriptions that were "people" medicines and can be filled at any pharmacy. He told me that sometimes Stop & Shop will fill it for free because they have a surplus of certain antibiotics. I wasn't sure it was the case and sure enough I went to get them filled and it cost a penny for one medication, and $10 for the other. Where the vet could have easily sold me an expensive drug at the visit, I greatly appreciated Dr. Whalen's care and his suggestion to get a medication in a very cost effective manor. I highly recommend this facility to any pet lovers in the area.

I've seen a shift in the way the place is staffed - the new staff seemed to care less and less. I've ignored signs (being that I myself work at an animal hospital - the burnout is real) but the fact that clients pay you to take care of their fur babies is a service you commit to provide. My boarding experience earlier this year- I noted that medication for my sick asthmatic cat was not given by the staff due to the fact that he "looked stressed". It would have been okay since they take your phone number in case of an emergency and promise to call if anything comes up. Instead I took him home, coughing and wheezing after 4-5 days away to look at the inhaler count to see it hadn't moved. I wasn't notified at pickup and had to call them to find out why. The funny thing is all the times we have used them to board, he could come back sick and we always used to think it was a change of environment. When I complained Jessica (management) was really great and compassionate and apologized essentially for the mishap and informed me that they will have protocols in place to tell owners when things like this happen. That's great, right? Except that it shouldn't take a mistake to have that plan in place. That should be the FIRST thing you do. I ended up having him admitted in another facility for 3+ days in Emergency until he was back to normal. All in all, it's a clean facility with only cats which is a major plus. However, I don't think we will be returning anymore. For those of you who board your pets, make sure that meds are being done when they are supposed to be done whether it be marking the bottle or noting the counts.

After being told we were no longer "a fit" at this vet, we made the decision to bring our cat to the local emergency vet for a second opinion. Lo and behold, she was diagnosed with feline leukemia, which she was also likely suffering from the last THREE TIMES we brought her to A Cat's Place since last April for the same symptoms, where the vet insisted on several occasions that our cats diarrhea and low grade fever were due to stress. I had enough of being over charged and looked at a few other places. I went to Petco on a Sat. morning and it was a nightmare. I had to wait in line for over an hour after my appointment time and was stuck with other families next to dogs that weren't well behaved. It was awful, so I left. I made the appointment with Petsmart this week and it went very smoothly. They used to only have weekends, but now they have full business hours and Sundays. I brought my Cavapoo in for Lepto and K9 Lyme vaccines. The well visit exam was half of what VCA charges and so were the vaccines. We saw Dr. Sol Rodriguez who was amazing! Lovely bedside manner and very thorough with my girl. I wish I had gotten the Vet. Tech's name, she was wonderful too. I highly recommend this practice and I'll be going back.

Then I had to argue with the other doctor about treating her with traditional medicines instead of the holistic, which didn't seem to be working. She needs to retire.
