I had this Attorney to fight for my daughter and he didn't even do what he promised he would do in my case. He just kept wanting more and more money to do less work and I finally just fired him as my attorney because he did a very poor job. I was not happy with his services at all. My review is over a decade late on what I experienced but I need to share. My services needed was family based. At the time I was a single father who did not have the best relationship with my child but I wanted one. After multiple issues of my child's mom not letting me see my child I was fed up and hired an attorney. I mean I even took my self to child support to show I wanted to be in my child's life. From the very start I should have known that this wouldn't go well. Every court hearing or magistrate hearing I was not allowed in the room but my child's mom and her boyfriend was allowed. My child's mom and her blind lawyer tried to warn me that "said lawyer" was taking me for my money and did not care. I would waste hours waiting just for "said lawyer" to tell me just a few sentences of what went on in their meeting. At one point he even became very frustrated with me when I kept asking to go in the room with all of the parties. (red Flag) Sometimes my court hearing would get canceled because of "said lawyer" calling off work? The magistrate without words even gave the face that its messed up "said lawyer's" not at the hearing. But that did not stop him from asking me for more money. When I asked "said lawyer" to provide me with a list or an invoice of all the things he has been doing our relationship definitely took a turn for the worst. I did not ever receive any invoice or a list of services that he did for me. I would ask him to write me receipts after I gave in and gave him cash for services, that I did not know if he ever did anything. One time he wrote me a receipt on back of another receipt from a store. I wish I still had that receipt I would post it. Actually I did receive 1 invoice many months after everything was all done for filing fees or something. He even stated at one point if I had $20,000 he would get me full custody. That was a brief conversation. Obviously, I didn't have it. Many hearings later I was advised to go to counseling with my child. I agreed as long as her mom did too on their time. "said lawyer" said to me (convinced me) that I should sign my rights over to her mother that it would benefit me & my child. I signed and was granted visitation rights but my child's mom would not oblige. She never got in trouble for it either. I was young and unknowledgeable, and it was just me going to court from my side, so I didn't have anyone to tell me better (I was naive). All I wanted to do was have a relationship with my child. Well that was the biggest mistake ever signing over rights because my child's mom just up and left across the country and gave no warning. "said lawyer" did nothing for me and had no comments for me either. He suggested I contact an agency to find my child. Long story short. I found my daughter before an agency could. We have a relationship now but not a good one. We don't hate each other but time has been lost. Based on "MY EXPERIENCE" he did not care. I would not recommend this Lawyer. This definitely changed all of our lives. He should have stuck up for me no matter what opinion he had of and he didn't. My other children have a shitty relationship with my first child and its because I had no one to fight with me. read more
