The DVDs we finally recived in July are absolute junk. Following are some if the issues I have with them. 1. They lost the recordings of the first half of the evening show and just substituted the first half of the matinee show in instead. The matinee and evening shows were not the same (different dance classes in each show). 2. The camera work is horrendous. It has constant zooming in and out along with poor tracking/framing; all resulting in some of the dancers being cut out of the view or their feet being cut off (a big part of what you want to see of the dancer). 3. The choice of camera placement was poor. The heads of people regularly obstruct the view. 4. The audio quality was poor. Professional recording should include a direct audio feed from the mixing console. 5. It is also very apparent that the video crew did not show up to the dress rehearsal to understand the lighting/blocking on stage. In total I would say that what they produce is no better than what a 10 year old holding an ipad would give you. As a teacher I would only give them a D- on this work. (The work performed and produced by students at the college is far and above superior to what Black Dog Productions is providing.) If I could give negative stars I would.
