Unfortunately, since I am not from Brisbane I can't speak about the minor peculiarities of this particular pub, but the fact that it has been built under a bridge (or did they build the bridge over the pub? I suspect the second suggestion is probably the more accurate since the pub is older than the bridge) and as far as I am concerned that is really cool. Okay, I'm sure if I didn't like the pub the fact that it is under a bridge would have little effect upon me, but it is actually a pretty cool pub. It is one of those places where you can pretty much find anything from a swanky new bar to an older style restaurant (and pokie machines). In the end though, what I think is really cool about this place is the fact that it is under a bridge.

It's a good pub, Fridays and Saturdays attracts an older crowd 40+. So if your looking to pick up, I hope you're after a cougar. On the downside after about 10pm, they have a pretty poor Dj who plays ridiculously loud inappropriate commercial house music. Then all the lady's take over the dance floor after 1 too many wines. It's rather tragic. Unless of course that's your thing Good pub food, flexible with rearranging sides for the mains for those with dietary requirements. I wouldn't say expensive, but it's not cheap either. Get in early, and get out before the punters turn into pumpkins

This is the first time I've been here in a number of years, I really don't know what all the hype is about, the service was average, we received the wrong meals , and with the amount of kids running around unsupervised, I thought I was in a day care centre. The positive thing to come out of this experience was, that the meals where very tasty, maybe I picked the wrong section of the hotel.

The Story Bridge Hotel has a long and somewhat complex history but being Brisbane I have come to expect that these types of places always attract the crowds and have something a little bit special about them. I am glad to say that the Story Bridge Hotel pub lives up to this tradition and as you walk in you are greeted by photos of how Brisbane use to be. Do not be fooled however by its rich history and connection to the past because it has indeed kept up with the times and as you walk through it you almost get the sense of passing through the times. You can walk from the old traditional style pub to a modern bar and restaurant. T he Story Bridge is also great for work functions and has a variety of areas that you can book out. There is also a bottle shop on the venue so if you feel like the night is not over yet you can always head home with merchandise for the occasion. The times that I have been to the Story Bridge hotel have been good and it seems to be a place that is inviting to families too. With all these offerings its not hard to see why the Story Bridge has been around for so long. The Story Bridge is truly a pub with a view and if you like historical sites I suggest you check it out.

my favourite watering hole in the world!

Upon walking inside, there is a multitude of liquor, beer, wine and mainstream alcohol to be bought. The thing that suprised me, and I don't even drink, I was looking for a present for a house warming... was the array of Whiskey this tiny little shop had. They also provide... maybe a first for Brisbane... a free liquor delivery service to Brisbane CBD and the general metro area... unheard of! They also cater liquor to functions for work and what have you. Staff are really lovely and knowledgeable, and the place has been open for many many years so it holds history... smells a bit of history too... but not in a bad way. The staff also informed me that should I not be able to come into the store, they also have an online champagne gallery which will have a brilliant selection of fine champagne... delivered free! The champagnes aren't that cheap mind you, so I have a feeling they may have incorporated the 'free delivery' price into the price of the alcohol, but either way. This place is where you need to visit. Right next to the bar too. I'll definetely be checking out their online site... i'd never heard of one before!

Many times I've caught the train directly after work to a friend's house for dinner or a party and have dropped by here to pick up supplies. The staff here are really helpful. Not only am I ignorant about good wines, I also have a terrible memory for names so I can never remember any good wines I've sampled at restaurants. At Grand Central Cellar, I simply tell the staff my price range and that I'm looking for a red that is sweet, not dry and tastes like blackcurrants. They get it right every time.

Formally known as the scary sounding "Flaschengeist",…read more Liqurious has transformed itself into a great speciality gift store. Known for it's intriguing combinations, This store offers amazing Liqueurs, spirits, fortified wines, oils and vinegars for you to fill up and take home in whatever size bottle you need. I remember being stumped for good gift idea's for my manly man friend, but after talking to the friendly sales staff I got to take home white port in a bottle that had a GLASS SHIP IN IT. (Needless to say it's so boss it still resides on the kitchen counter.) With liqueurs ranging from mango melon, pineapple, rose, limoncello, cognac and walnut, AND melon (as well as a yummy chocolate vodka.) This place definitely has you spoiled for choice. Now is the season for yuletide giving and If you're stumped for a unique gift idea this place is great alternative to that giftcard you were guiltily thinking of buying.

And oh, what a place full of delightful, alcoholic things! But first there's the amazing oils (I don't cook, but even I was impressed). I totes wanted the Mandarin Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil to dress some of my Christmas Day salads with. Or perhaps even the Raspberry Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar to dip breads in? Then I realised that I was loitering right beside a huge bottle of chocolate Port. Yes, you read that right. It's Port and it's chocolate flavoured. You can even soak strawbs in it. Then there were the other amazing liquers, just ripe for adding into cocktails: watermelon, rose, mango, macadamia nut). I underestimated you, Liqurious. Respect.
