We had an awesome day with Stormy Pirates. We took the trip from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda to explore The Baths, then headed over to White Sand Beach on Jost Van Dyke for lunch and some time to relax. From start to finish, everything was well organized and ran smoothly. We ended up with Kevin as our guide through The Baths, and he was outstanding. He knew the history of the islands, pointed out landmarks along the way, and explained how the giant granite boulders at The Baths were formed. You could tell he really enjoys what he does, and it made the experience so much more interesting. The rest of the crew--Brendan, Brian, and Robin (with a Y)--were just as great. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and always making sure guests had what they needed. The boat was clean and comfortable, the open bar was a nice bonus, and the whole day felt relaxed without ever feeling unorganized. This trip was absolutely worth the money. If you're visiting St. Thomas and want to see the British Virgin Islands, I wouldn't hesitate to book with Stormy Pirates again. read more

These guys and gals rocked it, are not tip-motivated, nice clean well kept boat, accommodating to all parties and children. Had a nice selection of free on-board snacks and beverages. Made the trip to BVI easy, were great with the off boat excursion and recommendations. Didn't rush when delayed kept the schedule as promised! Will use them again when in the islands. Also made customs a breeze! read more

Amazing Day with Stormy Pirates! We booked a charter with Stormy Pirates to visit Jost Van Dyke (home of the world-famous Soggy Dollar), and it was hands-down one of the best excursions we've ever taken. Our crew -- Captain Cornelius and shipmate Kevin -- were incredible from start to finish. They were extremely knowledgeable about every area we traveled through, sharing history, tips, and local insights that made the trip feel special and personal. Even better, they were very safety-conscious, which made us feel completely comfortable the entire day. From the smooth ride to the crystal-clear stops and the perfect amount of time at each destination, everything was done with care and professionalism. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure in the Virgin Islands, I highly recommend Stormy Pirates. You won't be disappointed! read more

Brandon and Jackson were knowledgeable, fun, and safe. Our four hour trip was one for the memory books! Everyone had a blast. We stopped at Christmas Cove and did some snorkeling. We jumped off another time and just floated. I strongly suggest at least a four hour tour. I cannot recommend this company enough!!!! Best time ever! Thank you, Brandon and Jackson. read more

We stayed on island for about a week and the highlight was the Stormy Pirates Circle St John & Food Boat Tour. Richard, Robin, and Tyler were all very attentive to our needs and made sure we had a blast! I would do this tour and BVI in a heart beat. We stopped at Lime Out, Christmas Cove, Pizza Pi, circled around St John, it was bomb. Thank you! read more

We had the absolute best day with Stormy Pirates. We booked online and had no problems reaching out to staff when we had questions that weren't covered in the FAQ section. Even before we booked they were quick to answer! We did the half day boat excursion and they catered the trip to our group. We didn't want to do the Pizza place but wanted to spend more time in the water instead. Our Captain took us to Scott's beach on St John and then to Lovango for snorkeling. We got to see sea turtles, lots of fish and coral, and even swam with a nurse shark. On the way back in, we got to use the sail. It was nice and enjoyable. The staff was professional and friendly from check in to when we regrettably had to leave. Shout out to our boat guys, John and Grant (aka Gray), request them if you book. Very knowledgeable about everything we asked! They felt like long lost friends. We'll definitely be back! read more

We love Stormy Pirates so much we took 2 excursions! Our first was a gorgeous day sailing with John and Maggie. The crew was very friendly and experienced, pizza from the pizza boat was delicious, and the snorkel stops were outstanding. Our second trip was a private charter out to Virgin Gorda to hike the Baths and a snorkel stop at Norman Island. Our crew - Tara and Kevin were outstanding!! Every detail of the trip was made extra special by these two. Kevin was our own private tour guide sharing information on the islands we passed, ensuring we had an unforgettable visit to the Baths and even taking photos for us! He also jumped in and guided our snorkel as we were all newbies making everyone feel extra comfortable. If we could rate more than 5 stars we would!! Highly recommend Stormy Pirates for your excursions! read more

Kevin and Brandon were terrific! Water was bit rough and Brandon navigated very well making it a smooth trip, even in midst of small storm. Kevin was friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. Made everyone feel comfortable. We had good day! read more

Experience of an absolute LIFETIME! My parents and I were taken out by Stormy Pirates on a catamaran sailboat with Captain Tyler & mate Jackson. They were literally the best crew we could've asked for. Welcomed us with cups, made us whatever we wanted to drink, and gave us hands down the best tour of the islands! Jackson knew all of the islands around, the history, and even pointed out goats, birds, types of fish, and other cool things. Captain Tyler even turned off the motor at one point during the cruise and let us sail because my dad loved to sail. I cannot tell you how many sea turtles we saw, we snorkeled with them and it was the coolest experience. We had the MOST fabulous lunch ever at a hidden gem. My parents have been to the islands before & we had never heard of the lunch spot until today. Shoutout to Stormy Pirates for the trip of an absolute life time. With the literal best, fun, and most professional crew! We felt so safe the entire time and had SO much fun. Coolest trip ever will 100% be coming back just to do it again with Captain Tyler & his mate Jackson. If you book - be sure to ask for these two!!!! They're THE BEST! read more

We went out today with Tyler and Kevin. They were amazing hosts and so much fun. I really wanted to see the the turtles and our first stop did not disappoint. We snorkeled around the turtles for at least an hour. Our next stop was just as special with Stingrays, squid and beautiful fish. We had the boat to ourselves so we decided we wanted to do some sightseeing and the sights could not have been more beautiful. I recommend taking any kind of trip with Tyler and Kevin. read more

My family chartered a catamaran for our cruise stop on St Thomas. Captain John and first mate Grant were awesome. They were very knowledgeable of the islands and even more personable. They took us to beautiful areas to snorkel with sea turtles and even a nurse shark! The boat was nice and they provided everything we needed and wanted. I would definitely recommend them and I will book with them again on my next visit. read more

We had a GREAT time with Stormy Pirates! We took a cruise around St. John with Brandon, Tara, and Maggie, and we couldn't have had a better time! Each of them was a great host and extremely comfortable on the water. We always felt safe, and the views of the island from the water are unmatched. The tour stopped at Lime Out (a floating taco bar) and included snorkel stops at Christmas Cove and Lovango Cay. Plenty of swimming opportunities if you don't want to snorkel, too! We even made some new friends! Highly recommend if you are visiting St. Thomas or St. John! read more

Circle St. John & Food boat tour: We had Tyler as a captain and the first mate was Heather. Both of them were absolutely fantastic. Heather was very knowledgeable of the area and Tyler was former Coast guard so I felt very comfortable that we would be safe with him driving the boat. Heather was extremely attentive to our needs... filled up our drinks frequently and anticipated things like that our feet might get warm from the sun (she would put water over them which was honestly magical). She covered up our seats when we were out in the water to make sure we weren't sitting on hot seats when we got back..... it was a zillion little things. Highly recommend them!!! Please request them when you do your booking!!! Lime Out: Absolutely fantastic tacos!!!!! The staff at Lime Out were super sweet and it was such a fun experience. Christmas Cove Snorkeling: Absolutely amazing. We saw 5 turtles, stingrays and there was a shipwreck where we saw so many incredible fish. Perfection!! Pizza Pi: honestly mind blown that pizza on a boat could come out so great. They ordered plenty so we definitely got our fill of pizza. Lovango: very cool history that Tyler shared with us ( really loved that story). We had the option to snorkel but the current looked a bit strong so everyone chose to go to the resort. The dinghy driver Rachel was so sweet and took us to the dock and took us back when we were ready. We loved the bartenders there. Very attentive and really good at what they do. In full honesty though I think in hindsight I would rather a beach stop or just a swim stop or more snorkeling in a more protected cove than to stop here. After a long day of being in the sun and snorkeling I felt a bit rough to be at such a fancy resort. That's just me though. Absolutely not the fault of anyone on the boat..... I knew the itinerary ahead of time. And we did enjoy taking pictures from the resort and we did enjoy a beverage but we kind of felt like we were just killing time before heading back to the boat. I think a beach/swim stop would've been the more ideal itinerary for me personally. read more

We cannot vouch for any of the services provided by the Stormy Pirates group. This review is solely based on our interaction with the rep in the office where folks come to arrange charters. We just stopped by to inquire about the various charters offered, the cost, etc. We spent almost 15 minutes there talking with the rep about the island, what it's like to live there, her favorites on the island, etc. It was a delightful conversation, she rep'd the business well. Next time we're on St. Thomas, if we decide to do a charter, we'll definitely look up Stormy Pirates! read more

We had a wonderful day visiting the baths at Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. Maeve was so sweet and knowledgeable (and a good bartender!). If you want a laid back day with drinks (but not a booze cruise) and lots of history and trivia, this is the trip for you. Jackson was also full of information and Brandon parked that 45+ pax boat like it was a Mini Cooper. We will definitely call them next time we are on Saint John! read more

This is a great charter service to visit the BVI's from St. Thomas! We took the Pirates Penny with Captain Eric and his wife and co-capt Sally. They both did a great job of making sure our party of 11 had a great day, despite some periodic showers and choppy seas. Captain Eric did a great job of spotting where the storms were and navigating the boat around them. We got to visit Jost Van Dyke, which has always been one of our family's favorite spots in the BVI's. Jumping off the boat and swimming up to the Soggy Dollar Bar is a blast. We also visited the Caves at Norman Island and the nearby floating restaurant/bar Willy T's. Sally did a great job of keeping the guests entertained and refreshed. She shared interesting facts about the islands, while making sure we had our share of beer, soda, and rum punch. At the start of the trip, we were given a nice fruit tray with pastries, and on the way home, they shared great homemade chocolate chip cookies. Both were a big hit with our party. We all had a great time and enjoyed the experience. Captain Eric and Sally were a great team and we appreciate the effort they made to make sure our group had a great day! read more
