We aren't from here but my kids LOVE these types of places so we were excited to try it. When we walked in I was expecting to sign a waiver (like every other place I've ever been to) but they simply collected money and that was it. Not a huge deal but I definitely questioned it. Right away I noticed how dirty the place is. The mats had not been cleaned and floors were filthy. I'm not a clean freak whatsoever but this was next level yuck. Especially because we were the very first class that day. So why hadn't anything been cleaned the night before? Next, i noticed people jumping with shoes on! And noone said a thing... So i assume workers just dont care. There was no rule of parents or gaurdians need to wear socks on the floor (we did because that's a usual request from gyms) So basically everyone is rolling around and playing in pure filth from shoes. I go to wash our hands before we leave and there is NO soap in the bathroom. I did not seen any hand Sanitizer anywhere... Never ever again will we go there and I will not recommend anyone to go either. I'm pretty positive they only get away with this because there isn't much for families with small kids to do in this town. I will be calling the local health department to file a complaint.

The two previous Yelp reviews and various word-of-mouth brought my family and I to the Yuma School…read moreof Beauty. We have 3 biracial daughters with that biracial curly hair...slim pickings in Yuma as to who knows what to handle that. We have our favorites at the school. My wife is also satisfied with her hair, and I go there for cuts as well..kudos to Stephanie for doing a great job. Also, mani-pedies. Walk-ins are available but it's best to make an appointment. Students do the work, the instructors oversee but I think they do hair, too. The service is 8 out of 10 in my book; affordable cuts and a friendly staff backed by knowledgeable instructors. Decent parking, located downtown Yuma... Worth a look....and a haircut...those are my 2 bits, (see what I did there?).

The Yuma School of Beauty is great place to get all of your cosmetology needs in one place…read more Remember, this is a "SCHOOL" of beauty and the students are practicing their skills, so if you do decide to visit the school for some cosmetic services be polite and patient. The students do an excellent job in paying attention to details required to doing your hair, or other services being obtained, under the direct supervision of a certified instructor too. In the event that you or the student is not clear on anything they are polite and will require a supervisor's assistance for proper guidance in providing you with the best care possible. You are never left alone for any student to practice without knowing what they are doing. Because this is a school the prices found here at the Yuma School of Beauty are very reasonable. Most of the time, their busiest season is during the winter season; when Yuma has many winter visitors coming to avoid the freezing temperatures from the northern parts of the world. It is always recommended that you call them in advance to schedule yourself an appointment so they can accommodate you adequately. There has been a few times where I've simply done a walk-in and have been told that I couldn't get services because they were so busy with grad students, prom students, and or other big events taking place in Yuma that they get booked for. So again, give them a telephone call and schedule an appointment for services. I usually get my hair cuts done at this place and I've had my experiences from both freshmen and senior students practicing their skills on me. I never been disappointed with a hair cut that did not come out well. But again, if it were to happen, it's okay, I will live and I know that the student was trying their best. If you are one of those folks that seeks perfection or will flip if a 16th of an inch went missing from your bangs, or something like that, go elsewhere. No student, supervisor, or client in there wants to feel your negative vibe in there. Oh, and don't be cheap either. Although not required, a little tip for the students services is always greatly appreciated! By the way, there is ample parking either on the street in front of the school or the school does have a decent sized parking lot on its west side of the building that you can park for free.

My niece really enjoyed her time under the working knowledge of a fun welding teacher. Sometime after my niece took the short welding course I got to meet the owner of the company and her teacher, and was really surprised and blessed to discuss her wealth of knowledge, not only about teaching and welding, but in other areas about living well, taking care of oneself while running a business, and the importance of being a good neighbor and member of a community. I'm only giving her four stars, because I've never taken her welding class... But as a farm kid who in FFA had to learn how to weld, and watching a couple of my brothers, as well as my father welded for many years, and a husband who was taken away from his plumbing job so he could weld on the AZ nuclear power plant... I have a deep appreciation for the artistry and hard work. If I ever get lucky enough to be in one of her classes, I'll come back, and I expect to give her the full five stars!!!! I hope I get to do that. I encourage others to break out of their comfort zone, take a class, and have an opportunity to meet a really good teacher who's 'been there done it. '. I also appreciate she shared her professional story with my niece, and has given her a wider scope that is beyond a community, beyond AZ. Sharing stories about visiting other countries and teaching all over, is something that is great for young people.

What makes us really unique, though, is that we provide internship opportunities to adolescents so they can learn the trade in real-life situations. We also offer plasma cutting and blacksmithing courses. FYI: we provide all PPE for welding.
