I would not entrust P&H Removals with the transportation of my belongings to the local tip. I…read moreemployed them along with a bespoke packing service, as many of my items are very valuable and I wanted to ensure as best I could, their safe transportation. I was also extremely generous, I felt, giving in total £300 in tips, partly paid in advance to further ensure the safety of my belongings along with several items, such as a bike (which had hardly been used). The service was completely chaotic, disorganised and shambolic, with at one point around 16 young people (who had been pulled from other jobs) packing up my belongings, because they were behind. Thankfully I packed many of the fragile items myself, as these were the only items which arrived completely undamaged; some items have still never arrived at all. The service was disgraceful, with items left at my old house, which I know were collected by P&H Removals, but have still not arrived at my new property months later.
On arrival at my new property, which was delayed by their incompetence it was late evening, they were supposed to unpack only the essentials that evening and unpack the remainder the following morning. However, at this point, I was informed the locks on the lorry were damaged and could not be left overnight, so they would have to unpack everything that evening. They did not finish unpacking until the early hours of the morning. Obviously, by this point they were extremely tired, but as a result, most of my furniture was not in the correct rooms and it was a nightmare to reorganise as the priority was to just empty the lorry, so they could get some rest.
I paid extra for a bespoke packaging service, specifically to mitigate damage and it could not have been more different, with the cost of the damage running into thousands of pounds. When I sent photographs of some of the damaged items, they said "Items are only covered for one week". After all the disorganised chaos of the move, it would have been impossible to have inspected every item within one week.
I am more than happy to quantify everything outlined in this review with photographic evidence, but please, if you are considering P&H Removals, do yourself a favour and avoid them like the plague.
In closing, I would say there are a couple of employees who were considerate and hardworking and I would suggest to them, they find an employer who would recognise this and value them, but as for the majority of the people who treated my belongings like rubbish along with the company itself, shame on you and if you read this, I hope you remember how you treated me and my possessions should you ever find yourself in my position.
