I rented two units from Standard Storage. While the units themselves were worked, they were filthy…read moreon move-in and required cleaning before use. Security is minimal, and communication became a real issue at move-out. I provided proper notice, cleaned out both units (with photo proof as requested), and was told I'd receive my deposits once verified. After multiple follow-ups, I only received half the refund. When I tried to reach out for the remaining $40, I was ignored, blocked, and later accused of trying to "scam" them. I even spoke with the same individual by phone who admitted they'd send a check, which never arrived. For a business that advertises itself as veteran owned, this experience was disappointing. Transparency and accountability should come standard. Hopefully this helps others go in with eyes open. For anyone else like me, who PCS'd and saw this storage unit as conveniently located to the base, it's not worth the hassle at the end.
