    Food Truck 3
    Tania T.

I found this food truck at Jackalope Fair at Pasadena last weekend. We were so excited to find an Indonesian Food Truck! What! That's super rare and as an Indonesian, of course I'd give some support and upon further inspection, I realized that it wasn't 100% authentic Indonesian food, it was a fusion! okay, no problem, let's try it anyways. And I saw they had nasi goreng (fried rice). That's a classic Indonesian dish that's really hard to not like. We all grew up eating this and it's still a staple in many Indonesian homes today. Anyways, we decided to get the fried rice with shrimp just to give them support and a try, if it's good, we can always order other items on the truck. They have rendang (pulled beef) and lemongrass chicken among other things but they were served in either a burger form or as toppings on french fries. Back to nasi goreng - you can get it either chicken or shrimp. We chose shrimp, and not too long after our name was called and the food was ready for pick up. Let me break down the bowl for you - the fried egg on top seemed like it was fried there. And the pickles on the sides were fresh. The fried rice was $15 and it came with 3 pieces of shrimps. They were cooked with salt and pepper and had some flavor to them. And then as you dig deeper into the bowl, you get to the "Fried rice", except it was NOT fried. It was plain white rice with sweet soy sauce, no other seasonings. and again, NOT fried. It was such a disappointment! and a misrepresentation of what Indonesian food really is. Based on our experience on the fried rice, I refuse to spend more money on the other items on the menu. It was just bad. I'm not against the whole fusion idea, it could work, but please don't compromise the Indonesian flavor. The service was okay, the guy taking the order was efficient, just wished the food would have reflected more Indonesian flavors. and just a note - Fried rice should be fried. it's in the name.

    Tofu Mee Goreng (vegan option)

Grateful for their vegan option and it was clearly labeled on their menu. They were one of only food truck in Los Angeles Comic Con that had something for me to eat. The cashier who took my order was nice. I had their Tofu Mee Goreng (stir fry noodles, Indonesian soy sauce mix, cabbage, kale, pickled carrots, cucumber, Tofu), and fries seasoned with salt n pepper. The Mee Goreng was a little too oily, but it was really tasty, but portion is a little smaller. I was originally going to rate 4 stars for these , however, having the vegan option saved me from looking around and walking around the convention hangry hahaha!

Me and the gang hit the Stop Bye Cafe at the All Toyotafest in Long Beach. I was eager to taste something exotic and unusual. The service was quick and upbeat and friendly. But the food was a disappointment. Not bad, just routine. It tasted like every other fine but forgettable pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. Unique? No. Exotic? Not even close. Unusual? No way. And for my forgettable sandwich and formerly frozen fries I had the pleasure of paying $20. I hoped that my lunch might lift or improve or brighten the day. It did not.

This food truck was at a local artisan fair in the park. I shared the brussel sprouts and chicken mee goreng. I will say the portions were generous. Also, the brussel sprouts were delicious! Well seasoned and cooked. As for the mee goreng, I'm no expert on Indonesian food, but it was only ok for me. The flavor was nothing to write home about. It was solid enough, and I enjoyed the fresh veggies, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get this again. I enjoy the instant noodle mee goreng I've had more. The food did come out super fast. The prices were more reasonable than what I saw on yelp. Apparently, the prices before were based on Comic Con. I would not pay comic con prices for this. I'm sure there are tastier options. The brussel sprouts alone would be 4.5 stars, but mee goreng was about 3.5...hence the overall 4 star rating. If this food truck is an option, I may stop by again, but I would likely only get the brussel sprouts.

    DRY CHICKEN SANDWICH!

Im Indonesian and the Food was horrible. To make it worse, the business partner (caucasian guy with a beard) assumes my gf is japanese and said "ARIGATO GOZAIMASU" and bow to us when we are not even japanese. That is super racist and should not be tolerated! The food is so bad, my beef rendang is swimming in oil and the chicken sandwich is dry as a cardboard. Save your money and dont support this racist person.

Borneo Pulled Beef Sandwich with Regular Fries (should have been Deluxe Fries)
    Alexis R.

They were the food truck of the day at my company and decided to give it a try since I don't eat much Indonesian fusion. I ordered the Borneo Pulled Beef Sandwich with deluxe fries as an add-on. The sandwich was ok, but for $15 I was expecting much more flavor. I also realized after the fact that I was only given regular fries instead of my deluxe fries and returned to have it corrected. They provided a full order of deluxe fries which I highly appreciated. The deluxe fries weren't worth the $1 upcharge--really just regular fries with some unknown parmesan-esque seasoning and fresh parsley, neither of which adhered to the fries. However, I did appreciate the good service and courtesy. TL;DR: Food is ok at best, but not exactly a bang for your buck; order was initially messed up, but service and willingness to correct are great.

Fried lemongrass chicken bowl with garlic noodles

I'm all for supporting small, Asian owned businesses, but unfortunately, this food truck wouldn't be a place I would STOP BYE again. The owners and employees are so nice and sweet, but the quality of their meals definitely fall a bit short for me, especially in terms of authenticity and taste. I ordered the lemongrass chicken bowl with garlic noodles, and I could barely taste the lemongrass flavor nor the garlic. This dish was saved by their complimentary hot sauce, but I still found it a bit lacking, especially with the lack of diversity in ingredients, overly strong vinegar taste, and poorly seasoned/super oily chicken and noodles.

YUMMMM, Indonesian restaurants are far a few (which sucks because we love Indonesian food) BUT this is the FIRST Indo food truck we've heard of, and I would like them to stick around!! We ordered the family style dinner (even though we are only 2 people, so we could try more dishes! HEY leftovers are always a plus when a food truck is not always in your area) ---beef rendang: tender!! not my favorite but the best that is still around!! (my previous fav closed down) ---chicken and beef satay: nicely grilled PLUS comes with this awesome chili paste, going to ask for extra chili paste next time ---brussel sprouts: packed with flavor ---indonesian fried rice: great side to all the flavorful food Can't wait for them to make it back to Chino so we can try the rest of their menu! Everyone in my community also raved about their food!

This pic says it all about the flavors of their food.

Company does monthly food trucks. I don't know if it's "authentic" but the flavor is incredible. Very nice selection available. Large filling portions. The people working were amazing. Friendly and efficient. The truck itself is pretty cool, cool designs and paint. Ordered The Kemangi Shrimp Garlic Noodles which I thought incredible. So much flavor, very very good, nice spice. Brussel Sprouts were great. I was also able to sample the fried chicken sandwich, thought that to be awesome as well. Didn't intend or consider a review so I didn't take pics other than one. Since so many expressed their belief that this was the best yet, I had to review and I agree. Definitely would eat again.

I love how many new cool food trucks Trademark Brewing is getting again, now that covid is (hopefully) on its way out - these guys were their food truck last Friday, and their menu looked so interesting, I had to pop in and try them. I actually remembered to call the order ahead this time for once, to avoid the wait - said I'd be there in 15 minutes, actually took us 20, so I'm also happy to report, they package the food well enough that everything was not only ready, but still hot when we got there. We tried: The beef rendang ($15) - FANTASTIC. Super flavorful, super filling, and while I assumed you'd only get the tofu and egg in the vegetarian version, the meat version did also include those. Thus, in addition to a good amount of very flavorful shredded beef, it also had two large pieces of delicious lightly fried tofu (I'm picky about tofu - theirs is excellent), and two delicious hard-boiled-and-lightly-fried eggs. So, in addition to being delicious, it was also very filling! Weirdly, the one complaint I had, the opposite of usual: too much protein and not quite enough curry! By the end, it was just a plate of beef and tofu, not that I was complaining *too* much. I would definitely get that again - and next time, I'd get one for myself instead of sharing it with my wife, so I could dump their equally delicious sambal all over everything (We have different opinions on how spicy things should be, and I can't stress enough how good their sambal is.) The garlic shrimp noodles ($14), which I thought was just "good". The noodles were good, but not as flavorful as the rendang, and the shrimp was large, juicy and perfectly cooked shrimp, but only like 4 pieces of shrimp. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't get it again (granted, it would probably also have benefited from dumping sambal all over it, if I hadn't been sharing both dishes with someone else.) The quadberry tea ($5) - my wife got one cause she wasn't really in a beer-drinking mood. Again, a totally enjoyable tea, but a bit pricey for $5 - it was enjoyable, but it wasn't mindblowing. (Plus I was at a brewery - I needed to save room for beer! On that note, Trademark also just released a new blood orange beer cocktail, the other half of the reason I was there - and it went *perfectly* with the rendang.) I would definitely make sure to go back anytime they were in the area - both for the rendang, and because I also really want to try their lemongrass fried chicken tenders next time (especially dipped in sambal!) And because it goes so well with good beer, obviously, but then, doesn't everything?

Really good! We got the pulled beef sandwich!

The food ticket even has the wrong times so there is no accountability, food safety (gloves), refunds for terrible service, and it was about a long wait for basic things. To the owner: the receipt says 12:52am, I started waiting around 9:45pm. By the logic you gave me, it should take 3 hours to make 6 cookies? That doesn't make any sense. Any commercial cookie place pre-bakes their cookies to lower the wait time for their customers. I love hiphop, I love music blasting. I'm hard of hearing so if I can't even think straight from the sound after being particularly deaf that's something. How did I know they were not wearing gloves? I asked them 2-3 times during the allotted time and when they answered they were not wearing gloves. Went I went the final time to the window I was watching the worker put our cookies in a container without gloves and he handed them to me. We didn't even eat the cookies because I didn't see gloves on at any point of the process. The reason for the 0/5 stars is the service ordering was odd, no one greeted me, the lights were off when I ordered for a good while. The cookies took way longer when they could be pre-made to quicken the customer experience. More visibility of the windows to see the actual process of all the food would help customers feel rest assured basic food safety and prevention of cross contamination. And lastly, good customer service of all guests. We want good food, we want excellent cookies.
