We've used these guys for multiple moves within the house, when we had to move heavy furniture…read morearound to accommodate kids moving back in for awhile, etc., and for that these guys are ok, although the last time they scratched wood stairs and the exercise equipment they were moving, perhaps because they didn't have enough guys, and/or didn't use a belt. They did know ahead of time exactly what they were moving. The more distressing thing is the condition of furniture that was put in storage. They did not plastic or blanket wrap antique wood furniture, or box lamp shades, so that we have several badly scratched table tops and a broken Tiffany glass lamp shade. They didn't even think to cover the floors moving furniture in and out in the middle of winter when they were going through slush to get to the trucks, and when I covered the entrance they kicked the covering aside and walked on the floor anyway. These guys are young, friendly and do their best, but they are not professionals, and not even trained to move things correctly.

They were very friendly and only took the minimum quoted time to complete the job. I was able to get a quote via a text with 15 minutes and all the paperwork was flawlessly emailed to me immediately. Never really considered them for moving furniture between floors but they got it done. Highly recommend them and don't forget they now can handle the removal of "junk/unwanted" items too.

We have a local move coming up so I used Yelp to check out moving companies and pick one with great…read morereviews. Patriot Moving Systems caught my attention so I called them to get more information. I talked with Dennis to get answers to my questions. He told me they are full service, meaning they will pack as well as move your household contents. You also have the option to do your own packing. One place I called pretty much only loads and moves your stuff so you have to do your own packing. Patriot sells boxes and packing materials but also suggested Home Depot or Lowe's but said he actually prefers and recommends getting these from U-Haul as he thinks theirs are better quality and sturdier. What I like is the way Dennis explained our options without overly promoting materials through Patriot. He also explained the rates for their services. Basically it is an hourly rate per person plus a trip charge and cost of the truck usage. He came out and walked through or house and then was able to give us a rough estimate of the number of hours we would likely need. We planned to use a staging company so we needed to pack some things to thin out certain areas like closets and kitchen countertops. So we arranged for Patriot to send out three people to box and move things into the garage for three hours and that was a big help. They were focused and hard working guys who went practically non-stop for the time scheduled. Whenever there was a question about packing certain items they asked about it. I could tell that they all knew what they were doing, their experience showed and they treated our things as if they were theirs. Delicate items were wrapped well for protection. Our move is currently on hold as we continue to pursue selling our home but Dennis checks in with me periodically to see how things are going. I will update this review once we actually complete our move but we know who we trust with packing and moving our property.

Same day I called around and Patriot managed to help me out. Efficient, friendly, and hard-working. We beat the initial quoted time (before the gouging) by a good 30 minutes. I would call them again in an instant.

My experience with Extra Mile Moving / Moving Forward has been one of the most stressful consumer…read moreexperiences I've ever had. This was a move of approximately 38 miles from Brighton to Okemos. Before loading even began, I expressed concern that the truck appeared too small for the contents of my home. After a walkthrough, I was assured it was the correct size. The move ultimately expanded to additional trucks, additional labor, additional days, storage, and charges that far exceeded the estimate I had been given. What followed was even more difficult. Large portions of my belongings were not placed into the appropriate rooms of the house. Instead, my garage was packed floor-to-ceiling so densely with boxes and furniture that I could not physically access many of my essential belongings, including clothing, toiletries, medications, office supplies, kitchen items, and even some perishable goods. I have photographs documenting these conditions. Living alone and with physical limitations, I was forced to hire additional help simply to move boxes and furniture so I could regain access to my belongings. As I gradually unpacked over the following weeks, I continued discovering additional damaged property, misplaced items, missing items, and repair needs that could not reasonably have been identified on moving day. The financial impact has extended well beyond the moving bill itself. I have incurred additional expenses for labor, furniture relocation, repairs, and correcting problems left behind after the move. The time spent recovering from this move has also delayed my ability to return to work and restore my home to a functional condition. Despite having already paid thousands of dollars for the move, I have continued to receive collection demands and threats of litigation over the remaining disputed balance while I am still documenting property damage, missing items, repair costs, and other losses. Rather than working toward a practical resolution, the dispute has continued to escalate. This matter remains disputed, and I am documenting my damages and evaluating my legal claims. My advice to anyone considering this company: * Read every contract carefully. * Clarify in writing how additional trucks, labor, storage, and extra days will be billed. * Photograph everything before, during, and after the move. * Keep copies of every email, text, invoice, and estimate. * Continue documenting damages as you unpack because not everything is discoverable on moving day. This review reflects my personal experience.

They seemed very confused. Also, they are a bit on the pricey side...just went with them because…read morethey were close to my house and that would be convenient. I was originally quoted for $180 (high enough) but, it ended up being like $220 with fees and prorating.. ridiculous! BEcause, I booked it on Thursday, luckily not Wednesday like initially intended (needed it for Friday) but, they had to start charging from time of booking which doesn't help me any and cost an extra $8/day. In addition, they left the damn lock on the thing so we couldn't access it until Saturday anyway and were there trying to unload on Friday night and couldn't. Had to wait until Saturday when someone was there to get into it....UGH! frustrating!!! OH well! I need it for about 2 weeks or so and I'll be gone. Just so expensive and I would not recommend them.
