This store has been going down hill. The manager needs some help... every little thing sets her off Almost every time I shop here something rings up wrong, When I inform the manager she acts like I'm going to steal it. I understand it must get annoying having things ring up wrong and having to fix it, but don't take it out on the customers. Everybody needs to be frugal at this time to make ends meet. So when they have a sale it should ring up the sale price. I offten wonder how many times a customer doesn't notice the over charge. Today for me overcharged totaled 8.72 thats alot for a senior to lose. read more

We usually stay local for our grocery shopping -mostly patronizing the Simsbury Stop & Shop and occasionally the Shop Rite in Canton or the Big Y in Avon. But last night we ran some errands in Windsor and decided to shop at the Windsor Stop & Shop off the Kennedy Rd exit on I-91. In many respects, it's an identical twin to the Stop & Shop in Simsbury - produce to the left, meats in the back, dairy and eggs in the right rear corner, frozen stuff on the right, and bakery at the right front. It had the marked down produce rack we love to scour, but this one was really hard to find, hidden behind a small wall by the deli counter. We're making Beer Can Chicken on the grill tonight, and we bought a nice whole chicken at a good price, plus some corn and zucchinis. I have to put in a plug for a fabulous frozen treat we have seen at both Stop and Shops (not sure who else sells them). There is a line of frozen milk & fruit bars made by Fruttare that are absolutely amazing. Lots of flavors, but I defy you to chow on a better tasting 120 calorie dessert than their Banana and Milk bar. I posted a pic. The store was neat, well stocked, and had some nice people up front. I'd go here any time. read more

This is not a cake, it's an oversized cupcake! In keeping with the retail trend of charging more for less, Stop and Shop has the nerve to charge $19 for this little cake that I ordered over the phone to serve 10 people. I can't serve this for a birthday party. I had to buy a second cake to supplement it. That's the last time I'll be doing that. Caveat emptor at Stop and Shop. Very disappointing. read more

I have returned almost 6 different packs of meat that ended up being rotten. Some of them said they were PACKED ON THAT DAY! Now my best bet is getting frozen products there and I STILL dont trust it. read more

90% of the produce that I buy from here has gone bad. I bought some tomatoes that looked so good tonight but of course once I opened them they were covered in mold. I am not sure why they always seem to keep that kind of produce on the shelves. I love stop & shop but this is the worst one I have ever been to. I live down the street from this one so I wish this wasn't the case. read more

The guy at the fish department is the rudest person I have ever encountered. I stood there for 5 minutes and he walked away from the counter and proceeded to pack up orders. He never once asked what I needed until I asked if I was standing in the right area to order. He then didn't even turn around and said "what do you need." I think I could have stood there all day and he wouldn't have taken my order!! Unbelievably unprofessional and rude. He should not be working anywhere front facing with customers. read more

Wish I could give them 0. Terrible management that does nothing when customers parade around the store with no masks. They had a brief confrontation with the woman and they continued to let her walk around the store (touching and breathing on all the produce by the way) and finish her shopping. Mike, not a manager just an employee, decided to get involved with upset customers and tell them that she can do what she wants and the store can't do anything. As someone who also works in customer service, you can. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing. These are the type of people that will keep this country in the terrible condition it's in. read more

Store is nice. A few "interesting" characters that work there but overall, most are friendly and some are very helpful. Deli is good, sushi bar is impressively good, they have rotisserie chicken, prices are average with some sales that are good, produce is good, and they are pretty much stocked well all the time. This review is low primarily due to my interaction with the manager. This afternoon I was at a self checkout register with three bottles of juice and three corresponding coupons I'd printed online for those items. After the machine accepted the first coupon, I ran into issues with the machine accepting the others. The employee who tried to help me got the manager, who came over to scold me for "making copies of a coupon." He refused to listen to my explanation that I had printed all three directly from the manufacturer's website and kept insisting copies of coupons can't be made but that he would make an exception this one time. I use coupons printed from the Internet almost every time I do any grocery shopping, and I've never been told that my coupons were invalid. The way he jumped to conclusions to question my integrity and his refusal to listen to my explanation as a customer made me shocked that Stop & Shop would employ someone like him as a manager. read more

Me and my daughter went into the store to order a wedding. we were told that they no longer make them. Willie Robinson went out of her way to help us out, Even though they no longer make them she let us order two cakes on was half a sheet and one was 1/4 of a sheet that will be placed on the other she asked her manger if it was o.k.and he agreed This is want Customer service is all about Hats off to Willie for all her help and resolving our problem, You nee more associates like her. read more

We ordered catering for a lacrosse tournament. The hero's and wrap platters were excellent. Not a sandwich was left and everyone was satisfied. We would highly recommend. read more

An operation like this is just too easy to talk bad about because a big store has a lot of employees, vendors, products and endless ways for something to go wrong. This place is nearby to my home and I love the pharmacy inside. The food products are average with a notable lack of a prepared food court. They have some packaged food, and cooked chicken but that's about all. Bakery is very good, meat below average quality. Produce you have to catch it on a good day, usually Monday or Tuesday. The store is generally very clean and the workers pleasant. I can't imagine myself being able to do it better. read more

This place has some of the worst, least helpful employees (except for the cashiers) of any store, grocery or otherwise, I've ever been in. Yesterday was just the most recent example but, curiously enough, it was with one of the same individuals that was rude to me on another occasion. I was getting some soup and one of the containers was empty, so I mentioned it to a young gal who was refilling some of the salad bar containers. Her response? "You need to go tell the Deli Department". Now the Deli Department is only about 10 steps away, so she could have said "Thanks, I'll tell the Deli Department". But then to add insult, she finished her work 5 seconds later, and walked right by the Deli, where I believe she works, as that is where she was rude in helping me before! A lot of little instances like this over the past 3 years. It impresses me that the directive from the manager must be "don't go out of your way, or do one thing more than your assigned duties, to help a customer". Speaking of the manager, I had such a terrible experience with an older deli guy about 4 months ago, that I called the manager and left a message to speak with him about it Guess what? never heard back from the guy. Obviously, the bad attitude starts with him. The next bad experience I have at this store, I am going to corporate headquarters about it. I really don't think Stop and Shop wants this kind of management attitude toward their customers, but we shall see. read more

I rewrote my review and added two stars, as it seems they've vastly improved stocking. I haven't experienced the unavailability of ingredients lately, and even found items I previously had to shop for elsewhere. Great job! read more
