You do need to specify your Foodtown's specific location if you wish to peruse the item selections of that particular Foodtown brand. Ambiance: 5/5 I do not engage in hyperbole when I say that the ambiance of Shop n Bag saved me. There is just something about the white tiles, the cool interior, the classic rock playing over the radio, and the down-to-earth humdrum of the establishment that always brings a sense of tranquility to me. There is enough space between each aisle, and plenty of space at the deli. There were plenty of sections for fresh fruits and vegetables, along with the meats in the refrigerator aisle. I did not notice until after I left the store. When calling the store I was met with the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I was put on hold and disconnected. I had to explain the story several times and transfered to several people. I was on hold over 20 minutes . No one would give their name. One woman when asked "Who am I speaking too?" Would only say "Customer service ". She eventually transferred me to a manager who was so rude I don't think I can even explain it clearly enough in this . He then put me back on hold to check the price then came back and blamed me for ringing it wrong myself because we went to self check out. When I explained I could not have rang in it twice as he claimed because there were 3 items in one deli container...I swiped it once and all 3 rang up individually with that swip...If I would have double swipped they all would have shown being rang in twice but that's not what happened. The item I was double charged for (which there were 2 of) rang up two times but at twice the price they should have been. For some reason he just wanted to blame me for the mistake. So I got annoyed by this and asked "Why is it so important to you to blame me.? Why can't you just except your employee tagged it wrong and refund me my money? " He insisted because it was my fault and I should be more careful! He did refund the money (after I said I would contact my credit card company) but insisted on continuing to say it was my fault. I asked his name and his response was " I'm not going to tell you!" .i don't care if they had the only food available in the stae...I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN! So Dollar This and Dollar That ain't my thing HOWEVER.... I needed something and I was headed home and Walmart was the opposite way so popped into this Dollar General. What the..... it's like a baby Walmart. They have EVERYTHING! Oh yeah I needed a grater cause I broke mine and needed one to make dinner. So I walk in and I'm like this place is HUGE. I immediately ask an employee, Pam, if they have graters. "Yes, we do", she said with a great big smile. Even though I told her just to point me in the right direction, she came from around the counter to walk me to where they were. I told her it was my first time in a Dollar General and she welcomed me warmly, told me the various departments they had, where the clearance items were and told me about their app for my phone. Super helpful and very happy employee. She showed me their selection of graters, took a few quick questions from other shoppers, picked up items that were in the wrong place and all the while doing it almost effortlessly and ALWAYS with a smile. I actually left Dollar General feeling happier than what I walked in because of how uplifting Pam was. Great experience and will be back again. Thank you!

The milkshake I received was so thin and flavorless that I genuinely thought it was a joke. Calling it a "milkshake" feels generous. But the real problem is the state of the place. Based on what I've personally seen on multiple visits, the cleanliness is completely unacceptable. I've seen cockroaches on the counters, floors, even the walls. My daughter's friend, who used to work there, told me they've been dealing with this issue for months -- which honestly lines up with what I witnessed. If this is how the establishment is being run, then it's no surprise the place feels like it's falling apart. I don't know how a business can operate with this level of disregard for hygiene, employees, and customers. I'm at the point where I feel like health authorities need to take a look I'm done giving this place chances.
