Terrible management, I only go to this store because it's not very busy . The prices are much cheaper at Shop Rite . Shop and Stop advertise sales but when you get to the register , the sale is for digital coupon only , the foolish cashiers have the customer go back to the front of the store to download a coupon only to find out that the cashier could just take the money off at the register. I asked a manager to help me to download a coupon he just ignored me I had to ask again , he helped but seemed annoyed . I can see why they are not very busy ! read more

This Stop&Shop isn't the greatest. The parking lot is super small and cramped for a grocery store on the main highway. There were also a group of people playing loud rap music from their cars in the parking lot.....Nobody wants to listen to this! Especially in(or around) a grocery store. People here drive way too fast in the parking lot, so keep your eyes opened. There is also a Starbucks Coffee inside(I have never seen it so I don't know how true that is). Right next to the store is a McDonald's with drive thu. I personally just go to Shoprite. It's bigger, has a much larger parking lot and has more variety in terms of groceries. This grocery store is on the smaller slider so don't expect much if you have to stop by. read more

I went up to the door at 10:50pm. They close at 11. I realize that I was there extremely late but I did not appreciate how the older white haired gentleman yelled at me sayin "make it quick" even before I walked in. I said "ok sir" and even then he kept yelling at me "super quick like 3 minuets!" I then asked if he "doesn't want us to come in" and he then said "it's fine just make t quick, super quick, the door is locked" I felt as if there was a nicer way to say they are closing. I decided to not go in and just leave as his man straight up yelled at me. Very unprofessional. Very rude. He should have "hey guys we are closing up soon" and kept it at that. read more

I generally like Stop & Shop, but I'm not crazy about this one. There's something counterintuitive about the way it's set up in terms of how the aisles are stocked, and the bread selection is pitiful. And like the other one I frequent, the butcher counter closes before I get off work, so if I need steaks or a particular roast, I generally go elsewhere. Elsewhere being ShopRite, where you can have meat cut to order until 9 p.m. For some items, I find them to be a little pricier than their nearest competitors, but their targeted and personalized coupon mailings can make it worth the trip. And one of the things I genuinely do prefer is the deli counter, because they carry Boar's Head meats. So, it has its plusses and it's minuses. The carts are stored inside, so they are generally not soaking wet if it's raining, and you don't need a quarter to unlock one, as at some other nearby supermarkets. It's open until 11, and that extra hour often makes all the difference to me. Truth be told, in order to get 99% of what I want from my grocery shopping, I need to go to both Stop & Shop and ShopRite. But, because of what I see as too much space devoted to chips and not enough to helping me find to find a good loaf of rye, or any loaf at all, if I don't feel like making two trips, this is the one I skip. read more

Now that Foodtown has closed, Stop & Shop is the best alternative to Shoprite in Toms River. Although their prices are higher than Shoprite, they're not too much higher. Here are the main reasons it's good: 1. Easy parking lot and easy U-turn onto Route 37. Easy back entrance onto Batchelor Street, too 2. Friendly union staff members 3. Far better meats than Shoprite...no comparison 4. Big store...you can find everything on your list 5. Slightly better selection of organic products than at Shoprite. The Nature's Promise brand is consistently good. 6. Large pharmacy selection 7. Starbucks inside the store 8. Upscale crowd of customers for Toms River 4 stars instead of 5 because they could do better with local brands. It's owned by the Ahold Corp, and almost all of the products are purchased through corporate accounts. Furthermore, they should appeal better to local tastes and carry more Italian foods, for instance. read more

Stop & Shop is by far better than Shoprite as far is the selection. It's very clean, updated and contains a Starbuck's for your caffeine fix. I noticed that they have a rather large vegetarian selection of frozen foods and I greatly appreciate that. I will be revisiting to take advantage of that! I still think the prices are a bit higher in general unless you stick to the sale items. One thing I do really like about this store is the self check out, the ability to weigh and print out labels for all of the produce helps a lot during the self check out process and in the regular process as well since it takes a lot less time. Stop & Shop is also worth stopping into if you need specialty items as Shoprite just doesn't carry much in that direction! read more

Let it be said that I love nothing more in a gorcery store than a brand new Stop and Shop, or at least a newly renovated Super Stop and Shop. This one is nice and new and clean and fancy. Supposedly it's "more" expensive than the Shop Rites or Foodtowns but I don't think so. I love the handheld scanners, great sales, vegetarian frozen food section, general selection, and consistency. I can count on new Stop and Shops to make me happy when grocery shopping. read more

I love this Stop and Shop! They have a huge selection of organic products. The quality of the fresh produce meats are fantastic. I don't agree with Tomas R. about there being a small parking lot. I am there just about every week, and never have a problem finding a close spot. Perhaps the fact that you were there on Labor Day weekend in a shore town has something to do with the high volume of cars, and perhaps it was one of the many out of towners we welcome into our town each summer who was playing loud rap music! And oh, by the way, unlike Shop Rite, Stop and Shop does not charge 25 cents for a cart, and their staff are constantly clearing carts from the parking lot! My only complaint would be with their self service checkout system. I have used many, but theirs seems to be a bit more finicky than most. read more

What makes Stop & Shop stand out from many other grocery stores is that it always has amazing sales that don't require you to buy a required number to get the discounted price. If the product is normal $3.50 and the sale is (2) for $6.00. You don't have to buy (2). You can just buy one for $3.00. Any other store would ring you up at the regular price without the discount. This Stop & Shop in Toms River is much more organized since the renovation and items are easier to locate. I am impressed with the amount of gluten free items that are available. It's not an extensive amount, but the options are enough to plan different meals throughout the week. As a PNC Bank customer, I appreciate that Stop & Shop still maintains a bank in the store, as well as an ATM for its shoppers. Oh, did I mention, I love Starbucks, too. read more

Go to Shoprite...I've stopped here to pick up a couple items and there's never enough cashiers open. I've used their "express self scan" and that has taken forever. It gets stuck and needs an employees clearance and they're never around or too busy talking to notice. read more

As much as I I didn't like the Stop & Shop on Brick Boulevard I did like this store. It's well laid out clean and everything seemed fresh. And even know it was a crowded Sunday didn't have to wait long on a line and I was very happy to finally find a store that carried flax seeds. read more

I cant believe the management at Stop and Shop allow the employees in the Meat Dept to leave at 3:30 pm. I was in there at approx. 5:30 tonight and the shelves were empty. I asked an employee if there was anyone who could assist me in the meat dept. The employee chuckled and said good luck they leave at 3:30. I cant understand how this could be possible. I get off of work at 5:00 and went there to pick up something for dinner and they had no ground beef or London Broils on the shelf. I know its sounds foolish but its bad customer service.I hope they can explain to me why the meat dept leaves at 3:30 when there are thousands of people who work later and stop to purchase stuff for dinner with nobody to assist them in getting them what they need.... read more

overall this stop and shop is a little bit above dismal we used to call it shop and stop because of the checkout lines,their produce is either hard as a rock or 1 day from going soft the last cucumber I got lasted a day before it became inedible.. their butcher dept are rude and arrogant ie they will barge in on you as you are selecting your cuts to replenish their stock forgetting all human courtesy and some of their meat is a bit iffy their deli has some good people but get there before 3:30 I like their bakery and their rolls are pretty good they also have some good discounts ie ice cream and sometime egg but if you have ever been to Trader Joes there is a real good atmosphere,they are clean and have helpful employees this stop and shop is the opposite all in all I give it a rating of.. needs improvement any management reading this go ahead and take the challange.. read more

My mother was rung up by a cashier whom we did not get the name of and was very rude to an elderly lady behind her and my mom forgot to grab a bag and the woman did not attempt to call for her or wave her down for her bag. Then my mom realized she was missing a bag and a cashier by the name of Katlyn was very rude to my mother after she called and said she would come to pick up the bag up. Katlyn had put the entire contents away and wrote all the items down and handed it to her and told her to go get the things on the list. Then when my mom complained to the manager of the store he said he was not the 'society police' and did absolutely nothing to accommodate her. The whole experience was ridiculous. I hope they learn how to treat customers better or go out of business because they do not deserve their business if they cannot act like one. If you don't like your job quit.. you don't need Stop and Shop and Stop and Shop certainly doesn't need your attitude. Bolsheviks! read more
