Store "managers" idea of customer service is beyond imagination. I purchased a half gallon carton of almond milk today and realized that the carton was leaking when I put it in the backseat of my car in the bag with the other items. The almond milk was running all over the upholstery, the carpeting, door molding and running board on a car that is brand new picked up today from the dealership. I cleaned it up as best as I could and went back in to the store and was offered a replacement carton of milk and a refund of the 279 that it cost. No offer was made to help me clean up the rest of the mess in my car. I asked for a written documentation of the incident so that if the car began to smell I could ask stop& shop to have it cleaned. No one could do that without" consulting HR"(?). My concern was that the incident would be shoved under the carpet and forgotten about. I was told that there would be a record of my purchasing the The milk on camera. What I asked for a copy of that I was told that we would have to call the police, have them come and get an incident report and then they could release that footage to me. I was offered $25 to go have my car cleaned on a late afternoon on a Saturday. Does anyone have any idea where that could happen and for $25? Their trained parrot psychobabble is laughable. read more

I use Stop & Shop pick up because I can no longer walk very well. I have been pleased and unpleased many times before. But this recent purchase needs mention. I ordered hot dog buns. Well, these things could put a nail into a side of your house. Someone clearly dug deep into the dumpster to find them. Rock hard and certainly noticeable by the packer. Not worth the return but please be aware. I believe the packers go immediately to the "past date" rack. Do better Stop & Shop. read more

Stop & Shop loves to be the only grocery store in your immediate area, and that's pretty much the case here. To their credit, this store is huge and pretty well stocked (I felt like I was on a football field as I navigated it), though nothing particularly fancy. Their prices do tend to be above average, but they can have good loss-leader sales. There are 8 self-checkouts, with reasonably good programming, but they are way too close together for ease of self-checkout if they are busy. It would be tough to find better options locally in terms of inventory or price, and that's the way they like it. read more

Forget stop and shop. More expensive, less selection, incredibly annoying self checkout that makes you stand there while you get checked on video if you put an item in your bag or not. Speaking of bags, they charge .10 for a cheap paper bag that rips every time. They are a terrible company. Shaws, Market Basket, anyone is better. Boycott Stop and Shop. read more

No cashiers open, all self checkout. Only one worker working for the entire self checkout and all self checkout machines constantly lock and require an employee to unlock. I spent more time in line waiting for assistance than actually doing my shopping. Whoever does the staffing needs to have more assistance at self checkout because it was absolutely ridiculous. read more

This is a typical Stop & Shop in a tourist community. Depending on the time of year, your experience will vary. The summer tourist season brings imported staff, tourists, and increased weekend traffic. That said, it is a typical Stop & Shop. You member card is accepted and you get points. The merchandise is similar to a typical Stop & Shop. Not my favorite Stop & Shop location. The male restroom needed cleaning and less staff using it for smoking. The staff was not as cohesive a team as my local store; this may be a result of the effect of summer staffing. We have been using this store for years, and will likely return. read more

I like this S&S a lot - it's clean, well stocked and at the time of day that I'm usually buying cat food and coffee here (7:45am'ish) it's staffed and humming along. I like to shop in a store where the manager is out and about looking at things and that's what I frequently see here - even though it's big with everything you'l need for any reason whatsoever, short of a quart of paint, it's here. Great produce, beautifully stocked florist department with frequently changed displays, meats are fresh and the deli department is Boars Head all the way. Nice employees, too, helpful and friendly which is a plus. It's the best last stop on the way down to the Outer cape, too - there's a S&S in Orleans on Rt6A but that one is a devil to get in and out of. And they're open from like 6:00am until 1:00am all summer- you can't beat that with a stick! read more

This supermarket sucks! The prices are fine but otherwise it's messy, rude, dark, and slow. The only redeeming thing this place has is a small Starbucks located near the entrance. I have shopped here a few times and I have popped into grab a caffeine-filled beverage before the drive back to the city so I do have some experience, though as more of a tourist visitor than a regular here. My latest visit warranted this one star review. Started with two employees sitting at a table at the entrance just chatting, not a hello, smile, or eye contact which is fine but not appreciated. The place is rather dark so it's very different than the sunny afternoon outside which further puts me off to spending any time inside. I waited to get some shrimp and it took a few minutes for the two employees in the back chatting to see me. When I was spotted I was waved a hand once then again as if my time isn't important. Once I had my shrimp the man bagged it with his shrimp gloves to the bag was pretty wet and gross. I had to ask for another bag and the man was just generally unaware and incompetent. The space is set up bizarrely so be prepared to wander the store. I finally finish my list and I get to check out. The woman working the line was a young girl but moved like she was 95. When she rang my yellow pepper in as a squash she corrected it but I noticed a small mold spot that I didn't see before as its dark in the produce section and asked not to have it yet receiving a scoff when telling her. Overall this place sucks and I'll probably just stick with Ring Bros across the street, even with their high prices at least it's clean and has a good selection. There wasn't even a decent cob or corn here and it's a native crop of the area. Unbelievable. read more

Back when I worked in construction I was talking with one of our project managers who'd worked on a bunch of Stop and Shops, and in doing so I realized that they're all laid out pretty much the same (especially the new ones). So true to form, this Stop and Shop is a lot like other Stop and Shops, with a notable exception: it's less than a mile from the start of the Cape Cod Rail Trail. On our annual ride to P-Town this has become the quick, no hassle go-to spot for lunch: a couple of pre-made subs, chips, water, etc. (and a stop at the packie a few doors down), and we're back on the bikes and off to our secret lunch spot just off the trail. Oh and extra points: they stock the Boar's Head horseradish sauce packets over by the pre-made subs. Yum! read more

Friendly staff, not crowded, and they had everything I needed at reasonable prices! I was in awe at the bakery. So many options for pastries as well as loaves of bread! I settled on a loaf of sliced white (moist and delicious bread!), a chocolate chip muffin (this morning's breakfast, and it was great), and some cinnamon rolls (tomorrow's breakfast). The shelves were well stocked and all was clearly labelled. I was in and out of there in no time. I will be back! read more

This is our go-to SuperMarket (and emergency "Oops, I forgot...") when we visit Dennis, Mass on Cape Cod. Do not go on a Saturday night during the peak summer season - if you do you'll be competing with gobs of tourists all stocking their fridges for the week. The bakery has very good muffins - especially if you catch them when they are freshly baked. At $1.29 each we had them for breakfast a few times. We also got our dairy, soda, meat & staples stocked up here for our "staycation" in Dennis this year. A lifesaver. read more

Such an unpleasant experience at this Stop & Shop, especially at the deli counter. The store was busy but there was no sense of rush by the employees. They were taking their sweet time, taking breaks to chat with each other. I understand having a good time while you work but you should also focus on doing the job you are getting paid to do.
