The promise of driving away in a nicer, newer car continues to be given only to a select few. I am a REPEAT customer with REPEAT bad experiences. (yes, shame on me for returning.) I finally went in under the guise of getting all this help, new programs to help me get into a better payment, etc. I hate having my time wasted and wasting other people's time. I told them from the start there was no point in coming in but they push and push and push and promise that they have all these incentives one could qualify for in order to get top dollar for my trade (on top of being a GM Legacy potential deal as my dad worked for GM). I bought this car through a customer service repair associate (after a previous terrible experience). Previously, I was able to use my warranties as down payments. Now, Stoops has a new owner and because it isn't the "old Stoops" I could only get cash back after my trade in. I couldn't use that same cash back toward a down payment meaning my payment would still be sky high. This is ridiculous and I am highly upset. I was told my credit was fine and I could be approved but there was nothing they could do about keeping me at a better (or even the same) payment. I also had an email about $7/down. Also false advertising that they like to hit you with in order to get you inside and waste your time. read more

Stoops sold my elderly father a junk truck for $11,000. Truck was not running on all 8 cylenders at time of perchase, and the sespension was worn out. The truck had over 200,000 miles on it. When my father tried to take it in to get the miss fire fixed, they said it could cost another $6,000 to fix. These people are insane. read more

My daughter brought her car in for a turbo replacement on her 2014 Buick encore. It took almost a week to be "repaired", but as soon as she got it back the engine light came back on for the same issue and was running worse than when she dropped it off. Now they're telling her that it's something new even though the code is reading for the same problem. From the beginning they tried to talk us into turning in the car and replacing it instead of repairing. It feels like they trying to get as much money as possible since they know she is away from home for school and we have few options to get it fixed. read more

if I could give a zero I would! I purchased. 2022 pickup. I would have to bring it back in to get chips installed. i get the notice the chip is in and call to schedule an appt. I tell them what service I am scheduling for . several days before my appt I call to confirm appt and remind them it is chip install. I am told it will only brake a couple hours. we get there (we live an hour away) are told they can't put chip in as they didn't have my VIN to have the right chip in. I said I bought the truck here how do you not have the VIN ??? I said the 3 times I called about this appt (one of the times speaking to the service guy rather than the scheduler) NO ONE mentioned needing my VIN. reschedule (at my convenience). I get a 2nd letter just recent for a heated steering wheel chip (didnt know anything about this one) I call for to schedule appt and what service i am needing. The change oil was on so I scheduled that for same visit. they contact me the truck is done which i thought was odd since it was to take a couple hours. this call is less than an hour. they can't "locate" my part and will have to reorder it. I am sure they didn't even order it! I told them not to worry about ordering the part , I would be finding a new dealership to go to. if they hadn't already done the oil change I wouldn't have allowed it to be done by them. they are the absolute worst dealership I have ever dealt with and I can assure you they will NEVER work on my vehicle again and I will discourage everyone I can not to buy from them. read more

After hitting a deer with my 2014 Ram (AC condenser, grill,headlight,light driver side fender damage), I let Stoops Collusion Center do the repairs. I called after after three weeks about the progress and was given a "should be done Monday". I was told this on week 4 and week 5. No one called me after Monday came and went to keep me informed. I had to contact them. When I finally received my vehicle Fri of week 5. The grill was painted the wrong color and the office tried to blame it on my for not telling them. It was on the estimate what color it was supposed to be. I declined to let them to correct the color due to concerns they'd have my vehicle for another five weeks. Do yourself a favor and don't let the collusion center touch your vehicle. read more

Went in to talk about my dash on my GMC Yukon Denali. The dash cracking is a known issue after I did some research. It is cracked so bad I am concerned about the safety of the vehicle and upset about the quality. Between General Motors and the dealership Stoops GMC, neither addressed the Quality and Safety concerns I had. The vehicle is out of warranty and I wasn't expecting it to be fixed for free. I simply don't think GM should make a profit on the fix. I was willing to pay to fix it at cost. After calling GM and them acknowledging the issue, but not willing to assist me. I will never go to this dealership again and would recommend that no one should take their vehicle to Stoops GMC either. Also, I am a lifetime GM vehicle owner and I will never buy GM again. Between me and my wife we have bought new from GM Silverado, Traverse, Equinox, and Malibu. This is a honest review and I hope this helps the next person when dealing with GM or Stoops. read more

The guys there were incredibly nice during my "windshield wiper crises." They were attentive and quick when it came to trying to replace one of the wipers. (Mine had somehow broke in half and due to it being a rainy day, I needed it fixed.) There was a minor issue when they couldn't figure out which windshield wiper fit. Apparently Pontiac G6's don't make it easy on the owner of the car nor those working at automotive facilities. Unfortunately I was of little help in finding the correct windshield wiper. After about the 4th or 5th try, they were able to find one that fit. Now I just pray that this one lasts long enough that I don't have to deal with this problem again for awhile. Pontiac dealers, you sneaky people - making it so that it's nearly impossible to find that perfect windshield wiper. Forcing me to buy $25 wipers. WHAT. But the silver lining was that the guys here really were super friendly and helpful. I usually feel like I'm taken advantage of when it comes to dealing with car issues, but I didn't run into that at this location. read more

After being utterly turned off by the customer service at two other lots, I heeded a friend's recommendation and went to Stoops. They are a bigger lot but we're far more personable. This is the THIRD time I've had a problem with this dealership and the SECOND time in a row that I've had to bring my car BACK into service the day after it's left the shop. The first time, I had a problem with an aggressive salesperson that lost a sale they would have had if they hadn't tried to push me into buying the vehicle that day. I went to Fishers the next day and bought the same car for cheaper anyway with a much better sales experience. I wouldn't have went back to Stoops, except Randy Stoops called me himself to apologize and I thought very highly of that move and the respect he showed me that I decided to give Stoops' Service another shot at my business for my CPO maintenance. The last time I had an oil change, there was a problem with something in the powertrain and it was 'fixed'. I forget exactly what the problem was to begin with, but the next day my car became disabled. I could not drive it at all and had it towed to Stoops to fix the problem. I wrote it off as a coincidence and didn't make a big deal about it. I didn't get my car back until the middle of the week. My most recent visit went pretty much the exact same way, except this time when my car broke down, my wife and I had to sit on the bypass in freezing weather waiting on a tow truck in a disabled car because something happened with the radiator hose. My car had started leaking coolant since the last time I took it into service about a week before my car was due for an oil change, so I went ahead and had them look into it when I made my CPO service appointment. A water pump was replaced. THE NEXT DAY, SUNDAY, my car's water warning light lit up and a chime started going off, so I pull over to the side of the road to find coolant gushing from my engine. Luckily, I had roadside assistance or this would have been an even more inconvenient problem. My plans were cancelled for the entire day because of the problem. We had to wait about 45 minutes for the tow truck and then another 20 minutes for an Uber to show up at Stoops after we dropped the car off. I called first thing Monday morning to tell them what was going on and it was three days before they were able to fix my car because they were waiting on the car part store to deliver a radiator hose. I asked the gentleman that I picked the car up from what the problem was and he said they didn't know! I asked what could cause the problem and if there might be a deeper problem and he said he didn't know but he didn't think anything more major was wrong. 'I don't know' is not something I want to hear from my mechanic that just got done working on the vehicle I depend on to earn a living. Either your mechanics aren't very knowledgeable, the are careless, or they are covering up for each other's mistakes and don't want to throw their co-workers under the bus. The later scenario is the most likely from how I perceived the conversation with the guy I had been talking to. I will be taking my business to American Chevrolet for my service from now on and I will vehemently suggest that other's stay away from Stoops as well. Third strike, you're out. read more

Had a great experience with the people at Stoops GMC. Pat Bowen is not only a great guy but he's an honest, genuine salesperson. I live in Chicago, saw a car I was interested in and called Pat. After telling him I would possibly be coming to Muncie he gave me an accurate and reliable quote on my 2012 Acadia. The fair price he offered allowed me to negate the back-and-forth negotiations. Moreover, I had a family member with me that was so impressed he'll likely be bringing Pat and Stoops his business in the future. While I had traveled to Indianapolis to search at dealers with larger inventories, Stoops offered great customer service and friendly staff all around. Major shoutout to the most friendly secretary in the business who greeted me right away and chatted with me while I waited. Mr. Stoops also isn't a typical dealership owner. I wanted to buy a new truck and went to Stoops, Chevy and GMC dealer in Anderson. Even know all 3 trucks were the same the service was not. I drove the truck and asked the salesman to text me the lease options. He did and we did most of the deal on text messages. I work a lot and didn't have much time to spend in the dealership. I worked with Terry Criswell over the phone and by email to learn more a preowned vehicle and to negotiate a price that was benenfical for both parties. I live 1.5 hours away from the dealership and would be coming late at night so was hoping to save some time. Terry was very helpful, polite, and informative with the communications. He always sounded calm and honest so I felt good about making the trip out there. He worked with me as needed while I drove there, getting as much as we could out of the way. The car was ready to go when we got there (it was snowing). Everything went well except for the A/C not working properly. This was a letdown because I had come all this way understanding all things were working properly and at that point had to make a decision. It was too late in the evening for a mechanic to take a look at it. We liked the vehicle otherwise and felt we were still getting a good deal. The check engine light did come one a few days after we purchased the vehicle however the issue seems to be really minor. Buying preowned vehicles can be tough. The other employees were very nice and the showroom was clean. If I lived closer I would definitely consider Stoops in my future car buying experiences or at least visit them early on a Saturday. read more
