Truth be told, I'm not really an RV type of girl. That said, we decided during our short notice move during a pandemic that we were going to get an RV to try to make our lives easier for a cross-country relocation. After renting our RV, we plotted out our route from the East coast to West coast and picked KOA campgrounds along our route to stop at night. This was our first RV/KOA experience and it was very different than what I was expecting. When we arrived, the campground was absolutely packed. Check in was super easy, and they had somebody in a golf cart take us directly to our spot and helped us maneuver our 30-footer into the reserved space for us. When we arrived in our space however, the neighbors to our spot had used it as a cornhole gathering spot for the neighborhood and it seemed like they were disgruntled that they had to give it up. Our spot was a back-in with water and electricity which was all we needed because we were just spending the night. The campground stayed pretty loud pretty late but we were so exhausted, we didn't really notice. In the morning, we packed out early and were gone before anyone was up. Overall price was good, I think our spot was about $32 to $35 and because we had a cruise America rig, we got a 10% off on our stay. Overall, this was a much rowdier, cramped, communal camping then I was expecting but it seems like those who were using it were pretty tight-knit group and they enjoyed it much more than we did. If we were going to be coming through this area again with an RV we would probably not stay here. read more

This is our spot. Great campground. Close to activities Pull through a, back ins, tent spaces, cabins. Smaller Journey KOA. Yet perfectly quiet, and around mature trees. Dog play area, with bags for poopy pickup. Bath house. 24 hour laundry. Fill your propane tanks. Site see through the day, relax if you wish. Then sleep into the night in silence. Pool was not open, we don't use it anyways. Playground area Rain rain made the put put golf unusable, but not the fault of campground. Very nice people running this campground. They help you set up if needed, and give advice on the perfect places to go visit. Just can't get batter as far as I'm concerned. Store is stocked with all essentials plus. read more

We live very close by but take our trailer here to just get away from work issues and relax for a couple nights. Keep in mind this is in NW Ohio and there are not a lot of exciting things to do or see close by. We have always had a good experience here and the people are very friendly. It is a great stop and overnight camp for travelers since it is not far off the I-80 Turnpike and I-280. During the heavy rain season the entire area can have water issues, It is a Ohio issue not the campgrounds fault being in a flat area the drainage can be challenging for everyone in the area. If it is the busy season it can feel crowded and the campers are often up and outside late during the warmer temps but keep in mind the Sun does not go down until very late during the summer months which is the main reason people are still walking and visiting others and talking outside just enjoying the evenings. There are stores about 5 miles to the west on Rt20 including Lowes and Kroger, Meijer's and a Camping World if you need to stock up on anything or do any repairs. Over all it is a nice simple smaller KOA but still a nice little campground to stay at! read more

This is one of the worst KOA's I've ever been to. The pool has been closed for who knows how long. A good portion of this place is flooded. Playground is flooded. It looks like something out of a horror movie. It is so run down. Do not stay here, keep driving. read more

KOA Campgrounds are usually a safe bet. Unfortunately this one way disappoints. The roads are all gravel, the sites extremely small and unkempt. If you have a slide out, your neighbor is probably praying you didnt because it would be covering their fire pit. They boast lots of amenities. A pool, that never opened. A miniature golf course, with only 3 playable holes. A playground, that is a sand pit. I understand that the owners are new. They recently just took it over. My beef, have a disclaimer. " We are a work in progress" . "Building our dream so you can make memories". Dont advertise amenities you dont have. The takeaway. Dont waste your money unless your "passing through". Not a great family campground at this time. I hope they do great things moving forward. But this was a very disappointing experience and dont see us returning with so many other great camping options. read more

Stony Ridge KOA - View?!?! - Campgrounds Near Me - Perrysburg, Ohio

Everyone was very accommodating at check-in and came around to see if we needed anything. All the sites had picnic tables, a burn pit, and rock bottom areas for tents or pull-thrus. The bathrooms facilities were clean and everything was functioning property. We enjoyed playing miniature golf and walking around the area. This park was great for a 1 night stay. It is a smaller park that looks a little run down, but it was quiet and close to the highway. It also was only about 10min away from a ton of stores and restaurants. There is a small fenced in area as the dog park which was good to let my dogs run around in after a long day in the car. New owners that have really worked hard to make huge improvements. Registration was quick and easy as a guide brought us to our site. We stayed in a pleasant full hook up pull through in the back row that was nicely groomed and well kept. Bathrooms were newly renovated with wood plank floors ceramic tile showers super clean and inviting. Small clean heated pool up front with a playground for the kiddies. Great location close to everything you could possibly need but if not, you can feel as secluded as you would like in this hidden gem. This was our first stop on our cross-country drive moving from New York to Seattle. We'd never driven an RV before, but the pets (dog and two cats) were happily bedded down and we were thrilled to be on our way. After hitting a bad patch of traffic in Pennsylvania, we headed into Ohio during a Tornado Watch. Not a Tornado Warning, people, a Watch! The lightning was so bright at one point that we couldn't even see the road. Our first KOA was a welcome site even though we'd been driving for 11 hours and the last couple were white knuckle! Chris quickly hooked up the RV in the rain, and we bedded down for the night. This is a pretty small, no frills KOA, but the bathrooms were clean. Do I need to go there again? Not really, but if it's on my way I'd be happy to stop there. read more

I love this place. The staff is super friendly just all around good people. The restrooms were always clean and we were here all of Labor Day weekend with a full campground. It's a smaller campground yes and the pool is small but they have a pool , along with mini golf a play ground and the camp store. Can't say enough about how friendly the staff is. Plus even though it's a small campground it is quiet even being full on a holiday weekend it was quiet and relaxing. We will definitely be staying here again. I don't understand the bad reviews about this place it's a clean quiet friendly small campground that's it. Nothing fancy but it's called camping for a reason it's not a 5 star hotel so obviously some people don't grasp what camping is read more

Not the best KOA. The roads are terrible full of potholes and mud holes. I slipped in a mud hole and scrapped my leg on a rock when I fell. The bathrooms were nasty, we would not take a shower in them. Extremely outdated and dirty bathrooms. There were some electrical problems, fuses kept blowing. To be fair, the owners just took over the campground a few days prior so maybe with new ownership will come improvements. read more

BED BUGS in cabin and owners continued to rent it out. My daughter broke out in horrible rash and had welts from head to toe from bites. Had to make several trips to dr.'s office and purchase medications and creams. Left all bedding there. Didn't want to risk bringing anything home. Turned out to be expensive camping trip. Slept in my car for three days. Owners reimbursed us for 2 nights, but refused to do anything else for us. Daughter has permanent scarring on arms. Camp ground was below average. Would not recommend. Definitely would not recommend staying in cabins. Owners were initially pleasant, but turned quite rude after confrontation. Will never return to this KOA. However..... I would give it 0 stars if possible. The worst campground I have ever stayed at. The site was a swamp and couldn't get out of the vehicle or into the trailer without wading through water. The bathrooms were so dumpy and outdated, along with all the other building, it was laughable. The manager said they were heated -- maybe enough to keep pipes from freezing but that's about all. We wish we would have stayed at a service plaza on the turnpike instead of getting ripped off by this expensive dump. It would have been a big improvement. read more

My husband and I stayed here in our 5th wheel trailer on Tuesday July 17, 2012. After being on road, traveling for the last 5 weeks we had stayed in several KOA's across The States. This one by far was the worst ever! Not only was the washroom area small and dated with no ventilation it was totally filthy dirty. Cob webs and dirty all over, disgusting! The grounds were not manicured at all and the staff closed up at 8:00 pm and left until 8:00 am the next morning. For my 46.00 that I paid I wish that we had gone on and stayed at a motel. The camp is open 7/24 all day even if Yelp might say the "office" is closed. You can self-check in. It is OK for an overnight. Maybe needs owners who wished to upgrade facilities and that might help it. For example, when entering the first camp site you see is pretty disheveled with fire rings laid about and general appearance a bit sorry. I guess the owners have to pay too much to corporate KOA to have enough money left over to make this place a first-class campground? So, it's OK. We moved on the next day. read more

I would not stay here again. I've seen several KOA campgrounds, and this was not a good one. The bathrooms were old and not clean. Our cabin was hot, with no AC (which we knew going in), but we couldn't even keep the windows open because the screens were ripped up. During the time we were there - about 4 hours, I saw several of the largest spiders I've ever seen in my life. I finally left in the middle of the night. The bugs would not stop, I suspect because the door didn't meet the floor. The bugs just kept coming in below the door. read more
