She said she could put our name on the list now and I asked how many people have been put on the list in the last five days and she said about seven so I said that completely screws us and she said do you want me to put your name on the list or not very rude nonhelpful and she hung up on me. so my boyfriend called right after me and then she was able to find her name on the list Even though I gave my first name and last name his first name and last name and she was just so rude to me. Everything was clean and very well maintained. The staff was very friendly. They also wonderfully accommodated late arrivals leaving the paperwork and instructions in the lobby. They also have nice grounds and a nice looking pool. Spots are well marked and easily accessible as a pull-through. They had full hookups for everything you'd need. They had good Wi-Fi to boot. I cannot say enough nice things. A really well run place. We liked this place enough that we altered our plans on the way home to intentionally stop here again.

After 3 phone calls over one week, we were able to get in contact with them about the additional fee. The staff and management were exceptionally rude especially Missy, who introduced herself as the manager. Initially, they said it was a pet fee that wasn't mentioned before our stay. Then, Missy claimed that there was dog urine left on the floor of the cabin, so the fee was a detailed cleaning fee. Not only was this untrue, but we actually left the cabin in better condition than we found it by cleaning out trash found under the beds that did not belong to us and wiping out the refrigerator before leaving. I would highly recommend avoiding this campground.

On December 20, 2016, I called HSC and was told to call corporate since I hadn't yet received my refund. I called corporate. I was told to call HSC. I called and was told the office Mgr. was on vacation and to call on 12/28. I called on 12/28 and the mgr. told me the Park Mgr had failed to submit the refund request. Yesterday, January 5, 2017, I wrote a letter to Sun Resorts Corporate Office in MI laying out all details and demanding my refund. I will post a second review when the refund is received.

During a campground-sponsored flag football game, an older child became increasingly physical with my son. This was supposed to be flag football, not tackle football. After my son threw the ball, the older child punched him in the face. Several parents witnessed the incident and told staff that my boys were not at fault. Multiple families even commented, "Watch the brown kids get in trouble for this," before management became involved. My children were the only children of color involved in the situation, which made those comments especially troubling. One of the biggest concerns was the lack of supervision. This was a campground-sponsored activity involving numerous children, yet there appeared to be only one female staff member overseeing a large group of boys playing football. Given the number of children participating and the physical nature of the activity, there should have been adequate staffing and supervision to prevent situations like this from escalating. When I reported the incident to Assistant Manager James, I expected the matter to be taken seriously. Instead, I was told it was "just kids being kids." Despite multiple witnesses supporting my children, the situation was dismissed, and no action was taken after my son was punched. Afterward, our family no longer felt safe. The other parent repeatedly stated that James was going to have our family removed from the campground. My sister was so uncomfortable that she left early because her campsite was directly behind the other family's site and she feared further harassment. When we asked management about our safety and whether our campsite could be moved, we were told there was nothing they could do because the campground was fully booked. We filed an incident report with the campground office and contacted corporate. Despite doing everything we were told to do, no one has responded to us or followed up regarding this serious incident. What makes this even more frustrating is the amount of money we spent. Our group paid over $900 per campsite, with three campsites reserved, and we expected a safe, family-friendly environment. Instead, our child was physically assaulted, our concerns were dismissed, members of our family felt unsafe enough to leave early, and our attempts to seek help have gone unanswered. Sun Retreats needs to do better when it comes to supervising children's activities, addressing guest safety concerns, and responding to incidents involving physical violence. No family should leave a vacation feeling the way we did.

The new owners have embraced technology and have added text messaging info/reminders to the easy online reservations. Camping in a pop up with no toilet or showers we appreciate clean shower/bathrooms with plenty of hot water. They have both here! My only suggestion, on the building with 2 showers and one bathroom (separate doors) please put a larger HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE sign on the ADA complaint shower. Its a nice shower, but I seldom got to use it as a group of traveling together in a nearby cabin used it as their private bathroom most of the time. Great stay, even with the pool being closed for the season (late Oct) and limited activities. Will definitely come back again.

Place has potential but the nickle/dime mentality is a turn off. Up the price $10 a night, get rid of the upcharges and call it a day.
