First I want to say, DO NOT BOOK THIS ON-LINE. First they charge you more than if you book another way, charge you when you book and add a fee. I have not seen this anywhere else. I must have driven by this little course a hundred times, but this time I stopped to hit a bucket of balls. I found Stoney Creek to very adequate for a smaller course. I like that you can hit from real turf on the driving range and not some plastic mat. The staff was super friendly and there was an orange kitty holding down the fort. Next time, I'll make a tee time and walk 9 holes. It looks inviting, walkable and very playable. read more

This is such a wonky little golf course. It is an executive 9, but realistically, there isn't a hole I couldn't over hit with a well struck driver, so be prepared to use a lot of irons. The greens were in remarkably good shape - soft and consistent, though for the life of me I could not identify what they were made of. It is some kind of tiny clover plant or something? I think my favorite part is the sound of cattle mooing in my back swing. Fun, cute, course in the middle of pastures. About half the price of a full sized city course, so if you're interested in a quick golf fix, this is a great option. read more

We were visiting the area and decided to take in a little golf. We were pleasantly surprised at what a nice little golf course this was. We found the greens to be very well maintained and in very good condition. It had a few challenging holes for me and my husband. Family run business for a short 9 hole course. A few short 240 yard par 4s and a couple of long par 3s. Although it's tough to compete with a long course, this is a great place to go hit a bucket and play a quick round. This is NOT a run-down public course. the fairways are cut very well, the rough is also playable and well groomed and the greens can compete with many high quality courses, and they play true. The carts are in very good condition, clean and well taken care of. The staff gets high marks from everyone because they are polite and helpful. if you want to get out and hit a quick 9 holes to work on your irons, I would definitely recommend Stoney Creek. Lastly, the course is an easy walk for 9 holes and they don't require to play with others as a foursome. We're a family of golfers visiting Denver, we would Definitely recommend Stoney Creek. read more

Drove past this place many times before finally giving it a try with my wife who is just learning the game. Really- it's perfect for beginners as it's fairly short but well thought out. There is trouble to be found on nearly every hole and although all of the par 4's are drivable they are tough distances- not necessarily a full driver for most people good enough to be thinking about it but really it's a sucker bet to try and drive most of them as the greens are generally pretty well protected, and it's a super easy wedge in from the layup spots. Plus it just feels lame waiting for the green to clear on a par 4 for a learn to play course. For beginners, there are some very short carries over creeks where even an errant shot has a decent shot of getting lucky rolling through and across but they are still there and is a nice intro to thinking about course strategy. No- on a a weekend, or warm afternoon on a weekday- you will not be likely to blaze through this course. But honestly that's not what I'm looking for here- I'm glad my wife has time to take a few swings and get pointers each hole. I've seen much slower play (relatively) on many other public courses without the learn to play mentality this course has. Personally I think the course is perfect for teaching people how to play golf, and it's rare in CO to have such large trees. Definitely prefer this to Indian Tree (not even close) and Hyland Hills, both of their par 3 courses. If I had one suggestion it's that I would love for them to extend the range or even raise the net at the end to allow for hitting drivers. As it is, it's limited to 240 yard shots or less. I'd use the range way more often if they did that even if I wasn't playing a round. read more

This is a good & reasonably priced par 3 course. Only nine holes, but has good variety throughout. I have been here a couple times, and the staff is very friendly, with the exception of Craig. Craig really brought down our experience. He appeared annoyed and frustrated that we wanted to play golf. The couple we played with had the same sense of feeling unwelcome by Craig. This is a very slow course. They do not have people enforce the rate of play so people often take advantage. I like that it can be a challenging Par 3 with a few par 4's thrown in. Definitely attracts an older generation which adds to the slowness. I like that they offer a punch card for free games of play but when I went to use it today (on my birthday) the lady said I could only use it on Week Days. Well since I'm not retired, this won't be an option for me. I was really bummed since I've been paying to golf here every weekend this summer. read more

Cute privately owned executive nine hole course. Always in good shape and a few par 4's thrown in there. When the water is running through the course, bring extra balls. I love the driving range here and their frequency range card, you choose the bucket size, small, medium or large...after 6 buckets, the 7th is free. First and foremost, DISREGARD "Nic D's" review = COMPLETELY INVALID! I'm a RESIDENT who knows everything there is to know about Colorado golf; from the plains-style golf courses to our amazing mountain courses and from our "links-style" to our lush courses... Hey Nic? It's Colorado!?!?! It's dry and we do all that we can to keep greens and fairways in shape but mother nature rules golf all over the world and this little nine hole course is not Augusta National!?!?! Get real! Now, for the rest of us normal/patient/realistic people: This is a GREAT little test for golfers of all ages and skill levels. I own the course record at Denver's Harvard Gulch golf course and I can say that recently, the staff there has TRULY destroyed the look, feel, and comfort playing there so I'll likely never return until those elements change... Stoney Creek is a delight because; 1) It is the BEST deal in golf in the State = $10 to walk this executive course...you simply can't beat that! 2) The holes you face are fun and challenging; all of them! You are challenged hitting your longer irons or hybrids (not the case on most par-3 courses), 3) There is plenty of water in play on six of the nine holes so genuine strategy is required to play this course well and you'll never get tired of it because you have so many options to attack each of the four Par 4 holes; layup and then attack or a full-out attack! The grass at Stoney Creek is more of our classic Buffalo grass; sturdy and tough and honestly, not the glass-smooth stuff to putt on but again, BE REALISTIC...this is not a championship golf course for world titles...it's to learn this great game! It's to hone your skills and learn about course management! It's a fun course for SKINS and again for $10...no better deal for solid practice golf. I hope to own the course record here as well. So far my best round is (-3). I believe the course record is (-6)... PLAY GOLF, BE PATIENT, in general, and have fun. Golf takes patience but dealing with people takes a hell of a lot more!?!?! Find balance between the two and your golf game will improve and you might very well meet some nice people along the way! read more

It's not executive by any means. It's a small nine hole course mostly par 3's with 2 par 4's some farmer built. I like that it's small and walkable. Technically you only need maybe 4 clubs. 8 Iron,wedge,putter maybe hybrid for the two par 4's. It's right behind Stanley Lake easy to find. It has a small driving range and a very small putting area. There's a yes a small clubhouse for food and drinks. It's a great course for practicing your iron game. You get what you pay for. The staff is friendly and it's kept up pretty good. read more

Staff are very friendly and professional. The driving range is nice and big. It also has benches and cover so you won't roast in the sun (a big plus for me!). I drive a distance to get here, passing other golf courses along the way, but I honestly don't mind, I really like this one. Oh and their cat Jackie is sooooo cute :) read more

Took my son out for his first time golfing and he loved it; from the sleeping cat in the pro shop to the friendly staff and affordable green fees, this is a great starter course for young kids. We were able to walk on without calling ahead and never felt rushed to hurry up. Not too many small courses like this anymore and I'm glad we live close to this one. read more

Not a bad place to play but the price is really high. You can pay the same amount at highland hills and it's a way better view.

As of July 2014 the fairways and tees have sprung back up and are nice and green. The greens have progressed very nicely. Soft enough to make a ball mark consequently are holding very well. It is a joy to play this beautiful 9 hole track. It only takes about 1-1/2 hrs to play so go on by and give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Plus the price is right, only $10 for seniors 55+ and juniors 6-16, everyone else only pays $13. A real bargain. Last years flood trashed the power carts but they now have carts that came from a Donald Trump course in California. Nice electric carts with auto brakes, head lights and tail lights not that you should need them. read more

This is the course where they built it in there backyard and out up a sign calling it a golf course. Payed for 18 left after 9 and will never return. Course is in horrible shape along with the driving range which is just a field. The pictures make the course look far better than it really is. Skip this course if you see this post. read more

I really enjoyed playing Stoney Creek. We were able to get a quick 9 holes in after work, so that works well for me time-wise. Also the putting greens were in beautiful shape. I thought the old farm equipment scattered about and all the water features and bridges were interesting and pretty. Also, it wasn't crowded, which was nice because I didn't feel rushed.
