However, if you are a family member…read morelooking for hospice services for a family member, it is comforting to be able to search out as much information as you can, from others who have walked before you. My mother spent her last week on earth at The Serenity House. It sounds old-fashioned and corny, but finding them was the "God send" I was looking for and needing. I was feeling lost and frightened about the process of caring for my Mom in her last days. Physically and emotionally it can be challenging. You love you family and want to take care of them, but the time may come that you need supportive services. The staff at Serenity House were very competent and caring. My Mom was very well cared for and I appreciate how they would brace her with pillows to keep her comfortable and relief pressure. The facility was always clean and the workers all genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs and seemed to relate well and respect one another. It is worth noting that it is a very lovely facility and the rooms were very nice. I owe them a debt of gratitude for not only what they did for my Mom (who had dementia) and really slept her whole time there, it is was they provided me. A sense of caring, safety and support in the days up to my Mom passing away. They took the burden and lifted it off my shoulders and I thank them for that.

My father had been sick for more than a year and in and out of the hospital for frequent blood transfusions. He hated the hospital and decided to stop treatment so could be home for his final days. Traditions Health made this possible. Lucy and her team were so attentive to my father's needs and helped us arrange everything from getting a hospital bed set up, providing us with the necessary supplies to meet his needs, 24 hour support when needed, medication delivery within 4 hours of the request being placed, home visits, and the list goes on. My father felt comfortable with all of the caregivers that came over to check in on him. They were so kind and gentle with him and on top of his pain medication needs. When my father eventually passed, Traditions arrived to help clean my father up and they called the mortuary to arrange pick-up. I hope you will not ever need hospice care for a loved on, but if you do, I strongly recommend this compassionate and caring team of professionals.

Sage was recommended by the acute care facility she was recently at, and Sage Hospice stepped right in and made the process of dealing with everything such a breeze. Since I'm from out of state (CA), Sage has been a blessing, and I can't thank them enough!

I was supposed to get a call from the director..that never happened...we were denied a hoyer lift when my dear Mom could not move...I was told it was ann expense they did not want...I also asked about supplies for her incontinence and was told that "we" ordered too much and it was getting expensive...under hospice rules, we are allowed all the supplies that we need. We were told that we needed to change nursed half way through her treatment, with no explanation. I had to call the on-call nurse twice and got no answer...I did notice that they have a lot of turnover...I had an excellent appointment with two of the on-call nurses and they went about and beyond...Calan and Dana were great..the others, not so much! You will find better care than this company that only worries about their profit...their employees have been told (and they told us) that the profit was the biggest concern to the owner.

As my father-in-law declined…read morein health in an Assisted Living, family opted in for services with a smaller hospice agency. They were kind, caring, but in way over their heads. His behaviors became increasingly erratic, needing family to stay with him 24/7, even though he was in Assisted Living. 3 ER trips in 3 days, physicians at the ER were all saying "this is end of life" - but the smaller hospice couldn't support us with the services we needed - basically, keeping him comfortable, calmed, able to rest, and not so fearful. We made the call to HOV and that same day, EVERYTHING was being addressed. He went from literally trying to climb the walls, injuring himself, thinking there were killers hiding in his shower, to resting quietly. We were kept updated by the compassionate HOV team. This made everything so much easier. The stress on family during this time is unbelievable - to know your loved one is in such great care, that we don't have to be there 24/7 while juggling work, home, kids, etc. is an incredible weight lifted. I've also worked with HOV on numerous occasions for work. As a nurse, I'm confident in recommending HOV. I also needed the 8 hours of training mandated by AZ for dementia care - and HOV provided that for free to our entire staff and did a tremendous job. I visited my friend's husband at Hospice today. The staff are so caring and sweet. We met a…read moretherapy dog named Pebbles who visits the rooms, family and visitors. The place is spotless and welcoming. They have a small kitchen to use. I also noticed on my way out that there is a cabinet full of games and things to do while you're there. Family members are able to stay there overnight if they desire. There is a sofa and easy chair in each room along with sink and toilet. I'm glad I went as my friend's husband is not doing well. He was resting peacefully and that's all we can ask. They have their own parking.
