I was really surprised to find such a great practice in a small town like Dubuque. Specifically, my providers always listened to me and addressed my concerns. They didn't lecture me or act like they knew more than me. I really hated to move away, mostly because I knew I would lose Dr. Ewen and this practice. If I could give negative stars, I definitely would.. yes, the hospital is new, clean and warm for a…read morehospital.. however, I wish I had gone elsewhere.. had issues with swelling, pain and more pain, after a knee replacement three weeks ago. so I felt I needed to get it looked at just to ease my mind and chose this place.. stated with the nurse doing vitals, not pleasant and was not "gentle" while she did vitals, and shoved the thermometer in my ear rather hard that I actually winced.. she finished with not saying a word.. ten minutes and the dr shows up.. first impression, looks like he's lost., enters the room stands there and looks at me and my leg for a minute and proceeds to say " what sends to new the problem?" He checked my chart doors a one over on my leg and says oh it's not that bad! I can't bend my toes or ankle it's so swollen and has different areas that are red and painful.. long story short, he commented the er isn't really equipped for a swollen ankle, and he didn't think it war summing to worry about!!' His time and demeanor was absurd and in a way like I was interrupting and bothering him. Didn't care what I was telling him about my concerns, so after I felt I was being insulted and judged, I told him thank you and hobbled out the doors!! Felt insulted and confused as to why adr wouldn't have recommended double checking labs or ultrasound eliminating the main possibilities?

Dr. Justin Risma is great the best, but seems in last year he is in a hurry to get done with you…read more Is it because the Doctors are invested in this company and worried about the all mighty dollar. Not what it used to be where they were not in a hurry. Makes you feel like a number. The Dubuque location you get all through the prep and then you usually have to wait not just a few minute but wait. Seems maybe they overbooked themselves as they want as much money as possible. Be nice if they get back to the old way and sit down with you so you can ask questions instead of walking out the door and saying any questions let me know.
