Want to support this impressive park? Malden hosts annual park clean-ups! I participated in fall 2020 during which we picked up trash & glass shards (make sure to bring your own gloves) and planted trees. Two weeks ago I called to get information about getting our marriage license. The woman on the…read morephone scared me, and I have to say I didn't want to go, not because I didn't want to get married, but because I was afraid I'd do something wrong and she'd yell at me. We arrive last week and are given three papers to fill out. All set, hand them over along with $25 and we're done. We're told it will be ready by Friday, so we make plans to come back on Tuesday since they're open later. Yesterday we go in with our piece of paper in hand to turn over for the license. They tell us to read through it to make sure there are no errors. I see "Perry" on one of the lines, huh? Who the heck is Perry? Ah, they misread the boys writing and got his Mom's name wrong. Damn. OK, we figure we'll have to come back since these things are done by typewriter (yeah, seriously). The woman looks at us and says, if you don't mind waiting five - ten minutes we can re do it for you and then you won't have to come back. Wow, as cranky as I was and hungry for dinner we opted to wait. In ten minutes we had a new license with the right name. The woman apologized to us for getting it wrong in the first place, which was just insane and we told her there was no need to apologize. We thanked her a million times over for all of her help and then went out to celebrate with guacamole and sangria (see Angela's review). One month to go and one more thing checked off the to do list. Rock.
