Photos and information from his life, beginning with his parents, are in the barn and a very interesting read. On the hour, a video is played in the barn. The primary narrator is his daughter, as a grandmother, speaking with a group of elementary school children of her memories growing up here with her dad. There are also segments of Robert Frost reading his own poetry. If you are a fan, you will very much enjoy those segments. Directly after the video a tour begins in front of the barn and moves through the barn into both floors of the house. Each tour guide offers their own insights so visiting multiple times you may learn new things. They have purchased furnishings as close to those owned by the family as they could find, including dishes, wood stoves and wall paper. They also own part of Robert Frosts personal library. He had many of the 'classics' of his lifetime. Handicapped parking is available directly in front of the barn with a ramp up into the building there. The rest of us park behind the building in a dirt lot. Here you will find the entrance to a loop trail walk that includes a series of signs with Robert Frost poems along the route. The first floor of the tour is probably handicapped accessible, but the upper floor, where bedrooms are located, is not. A gravel pathway at the side of the barn leads to and from parking. A basement entrance here leads to a tool display and two restrooms. Picnic tables are located under the trees here as well. This state park is 'carry in, carry out' meaning there are no trash bins and you are expected to leave with whatever you brought. Dogs on leash are allowed outdoors. Picking up after your pet is appreciated and expected. A gift shop is located in the barn and includes new and used books of poetry, t-shirt, cards, mugs and a few other items. We spent about two hours here taking the tour, walking the property and purchasing gifts from their shop.

As non-locals parking permit requirements in the area gave a very exclusive vibe that was very off-putting. What a joy and relief to find this chunk of land where all are welcome! This park offers two shaded seating areas, benches facing all directions, a historic lighthouse, commemorative plaque, restrooms, drinking fountain and bottle-fill station. Bring sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and/or layers and enjoy! We had a much-needed restroom break, a little bit of rock scrambling, lots of picture-taking and water-bottle-filling session and were on our way. Not a bad park to stop for just 10-20 min or stay for a while!

There's plenty of side trails you can venture out on too. The big loop we did ended up being 1.8 miles or so, and there's even a nice bike path right there too. I also liked the plaque honoring the graves of the British soldiers since a lot of lives were lost on both sides for American Independence. The bridge is a great scenic walk and great to do for both history and nature lovers.

The official Team Haverhill description: "The Bradford Rail Trail is a half-mile path running along the Merrimack River between the Basiliere and the Comeau Bridges. In 2008, the City purchased the land compliments of a state grant and a donation from the Greater Haverhill Foundation. The City and the Friends of the Bradford Rail Trail, a volunteer group, created the path for pedestrians, cyclists, joggers and other non-motorized users.
