This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Stonebrook Construction Group has completely destroyed my house. Daniel Parker lied directly to my face for months. After terminating our contract, I have had plenty of time to investigate everything that went wrong. The city inspector had been failing things on the project for months, yet Stonebrook Construction Group continued construction by telling the city inspector that the structural engineer had been signing off on all the changes they had made on their own to the house without consulting the structural engineer. We were able to contact the structural engineer that Stonebrook Construction Group hired, and he in fact had not come out once to the property. We were able to get him out to the property and inspect the work that had been done. It is a disaster. Simple things like nailing patterns were not followed. The concrete for the pier supports was not poured to the right size, and in some cases not poured at all for the front of the house. The list goes on and on. I have no construction background, yet when I would inspect the house after work, I would find things all over the house that did not look right. I would bring these things up with Brian, the site supervisor that Stonebrook Construction Group hired, and he would admit that it was done wrong: such as the shower plumbing in the master bedroom that was cut out and laid on the floor after it was already installed by the plumbers. The drain for the shower was also put in the wrong spot. The main support beam in the living room holding up the addition had been notched out to prevent people from hitting their heads on the ceiling when walking through the front door, even though it's supposed to hold up 17,000 lbs. You can not cut into a support beam. Turns out it was too low in the first place because the trusses weren't installed right. I often asked Brian, the site supervisor, why they were destroying the broiler heating vents throughout the house. His response, "Oh, you're keeping those?" Daniel Parker would often ignore my emails and phone calls for days and sometimes weeks. When I did see him in passing at the property, he would give excuses as to why he hadn't gotten back to me, such as, "I had an emergency at another property," or, "I'm not trying to ignore you," when in fact, that's exactly what he was doing. How you can lie to a man's face and tell him that his family will be back in the house before winter hits, and then abandon the project in a condition that won't come close to passing inspections in mid-January, is beyond me. Daniel Parker never had any intention of finishing my home. I have filed a police report with the sherrif's department and they are investigating all the evidence I have. I hope he can never do this to someone else. read more
