To me, MDL is kind of a hybrid between a very small mom and pop and a mega liquor store like total wine. You're going to find a good selection of everything but you may not find EVERYTHING if that makes sense. The prices are similarly marked - cheaper than a super small place, but again hard to compete with a mega store. I go here mostly because it's close to my house and has decent selection, is local (I think!), and has friendly staff. They also usually carry seasonal releases from local breweries and distilleries which is nice to know you can count on them to have new releases in stock when they come out. Overall this is a solid place and I'm super grateful to have it in my backyard.

I later made an innocent comment that I was surprised it wasn't busier for a Friday night. His response was, "This isn't a bar." I never said it was. When I clarified that I simply meant it seemed quiet, he responded that it had been busy earlier, again with the same attitude. By the end of the transaction, I directly asked why he seemed so angry, because nearly every normal question or comment had been met with hostility. They have the best selection in town and their prices are lower than Walmart or any other liquor store. I'm a fan of the brand in general. We had them in Las Vegas, where we lived for 12 years. If you buy enough booze, you can get into the Grand Reserve Club where you can get access to allocated bottles and other cool perks, such as free classes with distillers and vintners.

Justin's also has a walk-in 'beer cave' that allows you to pick up beer in larger quantities. Nice touch! Pricing is right on the level with the market and they always have someone to help you up front. Another nicety is that they will frequently have local producers or liquor distributors that will do samplings in-store. It's a great way to engage with the producers/distillers, and maybe even expand your palate. Honestly, I frequent Justin's because they're the only local-to-me place that carries the canned wine that my wife likes to drink.
